As I still had the CB client still installed, once OB hit I decided to patch the client rather than download the new one. It has been a colossal pain in the ass.

1) A 3 gig patch. Seriously. Think it's the biggest patch I've personally ever seen. And while this patch brings in a whole laundry list of changes and/or improvements...3 gigs. Wow.

2) None of the mirrors listed on the official site give a decent download rate, with the exception of Fileplanet. And that's only if you're a subscriber.  I was stuck downloading it from Gamershell at a whopping 83k a second, so my PC has spent the majority of the day downloading this monster.

3) Finally got it downloaded, extracted, and installed with the bundled setup.exe. Woooo! Let's play!

But no.

4) The damn game has to update or read the files. Every fucking one of them.

So here I am, at 11:43 EST, with 8% of an update status. Haven't even seen a login screen yet.

This post isn't a complaint, or a trolling post. Guess I'm just venting a bit. I wanted to get into the game and play a bit before going back to work Tuesday, but at this rate, I'll still be here the same time tomorrow, waiting on a game that I've already manually patched. Bugger.

No offence but thats why they told everyone to start dl'ing the OB updated like almost 2 weeks ago. They warned everyone that it was big and was gunna take awhile.

The patch btw added a lot of things including some 10 new end game raids or something like that. I came across the post a week ago forgot exactly what was in it. Just know it was some new content.

Well, I think over prepare is how you would want to do these things.

I downloaded the full OB client and also the patch for CB client just on the safe side when they put the link up that day.

Difference is I ussed torrent, it was pretty fast.

Installed, and updated.  Waited for server to patch, and patched.  Then spent the rest of my time checking my configuration so it does not have conflict between my softwares and Gameguard.

I know I kind of over-prepared, but it paid off, I got no errors, got to play.

However, my friend showed soon after and for the last 7 hours he have been playing my OBT on my PC.  Seriously, I don't think error is the only thing that can prevent someone from playing Aion.  I need better friends. LOL

While at work, my co-worker downloaded the whole thing in 43 minutes.

I guess your just having bad luck.
