Ok I know it’s a bit much to review a game after 10 hours game play but I want to
Graphics : Certainly not as good as people are making out.. Lotro was better 2.x years ago, AOC much better. It has a fuzzy but colourful look to it.
Sounds: Ambient sounds are great, English voice acting is all over the place.. far too much variation in American accents, especially for an Englishman! The combat vocals get repetitive.
Music: Nice but it does get annoying!? Some of the songs are good and catchy it just gets too much for me, they have a Asian theme which goes against the westernisation they should have just not changed it that much IMO.
Characters (creation) There’s gunna be 2 factions, the pretties and the fuglies.. A clan full of Uglys would be quite funny..
Classes: If you like playing a specific class such as a priest you won’t be disappointed, it’s all there.
Quests: Again pretty standard stuff, far too much quest text for me however. I know they embellished the quests to westernize them, I’m thinking they shouldn’t have bothered. I don’t know if I’m the only one but I’m finding myself skipping the quest text on standard quests – I know shocking.
Crafting: Standard.
Combat: Select Target, Click button, Attack, Click Next Button Standard. Not bad, Not great.
Unique Feature: The Flying! its pretty cool actually its really cool, BUT! if you put a great feature in your game why randomly and arbitrarily turn it on and off in different areas? .. total immersion failure!
PVP - Well obviously it’s impossible to comment on this until you have got to the higher levels which (I haven’t), until you have a broad skill set you can’t judge the game too much, however if PVP isn’t a massive draw for you in a MMO then it looks like you are going to be bored pretty quick! I’m a fairly hardcore FPS player so I have no need to get into the WOW vs Aion vs MMO.x argument
A lot of people say it’s a polished MMO – It is, Aion is pretty Solid! Its a good MMO and If you are looking to play a decent MMO and you aren’t playing one now then I don’t think you are gunna go much wrong with it.. If you are looking for something new or looking for that ‘omg what an awesome game’ feeling then well.. it’s just my opinion but it’s not here.

Seems fair... I just dont understand your opinion on graphics. I play AION maxed out and it looks a lot better and more vibrant than AoC which I can also log on right now and check out... I mean maybe DX10 version will be superior with it's realistic appearence but they havnt even got that working yet... Are you sure you arn't confusing animations to graphics? I would say the animations in AoC are very fluent and add to the overall graphic appeal but ... visually I prefer Darkfall to AoC, I guess I like vibrant worlds as opposed to plain? Maybe I just dont think AoC is that hawt anymore... hmmm and I know LotR lol... doesnt compare to AoC so... I guess we jus have differing art style preferences.

You cant review a MMO after playing it for only 10 hours, get a clue please.
Aion v3 "RELOADED" - A glimpse into the future of the MMO genre
You can review a MMO after ten hours.
Graphics, sound, interface. It's all there from the moment you start till the moment you quit.
Many things people do and don't like about a game are introduced from the start.
Nothing, besides the PvP, would change based on time played.
What class did you try? your combat explanation is too simple in my opinion.
I had some tough time with assassin on mobs which leaded to some tactics like using back attacks since mobs are not like wow's ones and don't turn instantly like it should be. You had to be careful at least with assassin when alone on beating enemies faster before losing 50% hp or the worse dying.
PvE could change to... like AoC for example... in the very beginning on your way to tortage you can tear through any mob fast after reachign tortage some classes have a harder time solo(ing) IE it changed and towards end game it changes more some classes become far superior IE Demos and nuke 35 mobs at the same time if it tried where as Rangers can do maybe ... 3-4 equal level mobs if they drop their cc's

how about 99% of the content you havn't seen yet?
Aion v3 "RELOADED" - A glimpse into the future of the MMO genre
The fundamentals of how you interact with the game is there from the start.
Player control, mob selection, ability activation, all play the same.
How you interact with the game, how the game looks, etc. is the basis for making judgment.
Content doesn't matter if you don't like the initial presentation.
I can and I did... If you have an intelligible rebuttal to my points please feel free to post them , my opinions aren’t kneejerk reactions.
Much appreciated on the review but:
To be honest, every game in the start will be all glorious and great for the most of people.
That's only my opinion though.

Im not gonna bother, since your didnt even play the game long enough to warrant a valid review.

Not sure what your smoking, but could you pass some this way? Just played Aion for the first time yesterday on highest graphic settings and I was extremely disappointed. Graphics are one of the main things I look for in an MMO these days, realistic ones at that. This game reminds me of WOW in terms of graphics, yah maybe slightly better, but still cartoon and kiddy looking which is the primary reason I have never been able to play WOW for longer than a week. I guess it's all a matter of perspective and preference, but there is no way you can compare the graphics of this game to AoC, LoTRO or Vanguard for that matter. I would really like to give Aion some more of my time to see what all the hype is about, but I just can't get over the cartoon graphics.
Currently Playing: Toying around with AoC and bored with Darkfall
Thinking of Playing: Fallen Earth or Darkfall after this months update.
Have Played: EQ1, EQ2, WoW, WAR, Vanguard, EvE, Requiem, PW, Lotro, Lineage2, AoC, SWG...
You can review an MMO after 10 hours.
You can review and MMO after 10 minutes.
First impressions ARE important.
However I get what you're saying. MMO's are meant to be played long term.
With an MMO the game never really start until you "finish" it. End game/Max Level is where you will be spending the majority of your time. The time spent getting there obviously has to be fun as well, but i'm just saying.
So anyway, a review like the one above really says nothing about the actual game, and what it will be like for the people who will actually still be playing two or even one months from now.
I've played LOTRO these graphics are better.

But that is your personal taste no one can bash you on it since you seem to not like "cartoonish" graphics although I find them a mixture of cartoon and realistic graphics but to each their own I guess.
I disagree. While Lotro fully maxed looks amazing. They are comparable to AION if not simply even, but having just looked at both I don't see how they are better.
Then again this is always a stupid argument because everyone's opinion differs.

Very true, personal taste all the way.

A fair review for someone whos played it for 10 hours. He makes good and bad points on the game, and he quite spot on with some of them. The graphics are a matter taste to be honest. Some people say Lotro graphics suck, but myself I think their beautiful.
If your not sure whether or not to buy the game, I probably wouldn't use this, if you want a general quick 1 minute sum up. It does that well.
Since it was a relatively short game play time the review was not unfair, but what I would like to see is why I would want to play this game over other MMO's such as EQ2,Vanguard or Lotr. Who is this game trying to appeal to, and what does it do different/better to make us want to play it over any other?
If your like me and you don't like cartoon / WoW looking graphics it probably won't appeal to you. I'm sure the game has some awesome things in it if you can stand the style of graphics it brings to the table. I am seriously gonna try and force myself to play this game a bit more before i cancel my pre-order though.

It would be unfair If I said 'game sukz' I didnt I've made specific points about specific features.
I never liked Lotro graphics. It lacked any kind of style and the character models are just horrible. Age Of Conans has great graphics but I think Aion looks better. Aion is just more colorful and vibrant and thats what I like.
Yeah stylistically its vibrant, has a tidy professional look, however it isn't a technical marvel compared to anything else. After watching some video reviews a few weeks ago I thought I was in for something jaw dropping...
Very good review. But you get whipped with one of those newb zone plants we have to gather for calling your own review dam_ good, thereby reviewing your own reviewed review.
