I'm not a fan of having to pay 100 gold (or whatever the currency name is) for a stack of 100 arrows.
I think it would be a better idea to sell stacks of 1000 so its less costly.
Or just sell quivers for a certain amount of gold that never run out of arrows.
I am more concerned with running out of arrows in PvP or PvE more so than the cost of the arrows.
I'm sure others have ideas what could be done to solve the problem.
That's my one concern with the class though, other than that its a great class and the game is solid!

The amount of Kinah you get from leveling goes up exponentially as you level. By 25 you'll have like 100k.
Dont worry about that. You wont be bothered by it later on and rangers are awesome!
Awesome Avatar Aranha!
Awesome people have awesome avatars!
As others have said you make so much cash that you wont notice it.
10-18 using arrows only sucks anyway.
Rangers are a strange breed 1-10 we are assasin's 10-18 we are 1-10 rangers once you hit 18 is when the bow really begins to become use. until then it just doesnt give the DPS gains it should IMO.
Yea gold (sorry, Kinah) is an issue early on, but these amounts indeed start to become irrelevant at lvl 15'ish. So yea, as already mentioned by others, don't worry about it.
Other than the cost, the BIGGEST problem with the Ranger class is there's so many of them. Yesterday there were a ton crying how they couldnt get in a group. Those in the groups were saying there were too many of them. LOL. As a Cleric, I found this really funny (we had to take 2 in our group), but started thinking that we needed more Templars or even a SM's...even Chanters.
If you do NOT want to be unique and enjoy soloing (although, after like level 13, you're gonna need to group up with others) roll and Ranger.
My suggestion is to roll a class that will be more needed.
I made level 14 as a ranger yesterday and have yet to use a bow.

That's not strange you won't really be using a bow until level 18-19

That was the same problem in WoW in the beginning. The game was flooded by Hunters and Rogues.
Yet the funniest thing was, that only very few actually knew how to play either of these classes. Especially at higher levels.
I don't want to brag, but I was a hunter back in the pre-TBC days and was always asked into UBRS groups day after day, because I knew how to kite Draki well and keep him off the group their back long enough.
There were plenty of hunters on my server, yet hardly an of them knew how to kite mobs properly.
I guess in Aion it won't be any different. People hear that Rangers and Assasions are OP and boom! Everyone rolls one. So typically FOTM scenario.
And then a month later, they fail at PVP, because they don't know how to play the class and reroll a different one. One they actually like.
I am not gonna roll a Ranger. More like going either Templar or Cleric / Chanter route for a change.
I stopped using melee weapons at 10, enchanted the bow to +6 and made it to almost 16 yesterday kiting mobs 2 lvls higher and flying thru campaign quests, dono where the whole "don't use a bow til 16" thing that alot of people are repeating is coming from.
What about the money you save in bandages/potions?
Every class has their own money sink in this game, excepting healers maybe.

Sure you can kill monsters with a bow just fine at 14... But it's a lot faster with dual wield. Player health regens so quickly that you're better off taking the hits toe-to-toe and resting between each fight than spending two minutes kiting one mob.

I'm really interested in this thread. I enjoy stealth and dexterity based classes but I see way too many Assassins so far in Aion. However, I've seen a very, very low number of Rangers.
Ranger is intriguing to me because it is not completely limited to bows. It also seems to have interesting dps potential. Other than the cost of arrows, what's the big problem people have with it? Am I just too stereotypical in my love of stealth?
It seems to me that ranger can use daggers whilst assassin cannot use bows. That is interesting. Looking in the skill trees, I seem much less overlap between the two than say, cleric and chanter.
I normally like Assassin like classes, but I hear rumors Korean servers are 40 percent Assassin. I hate using a class that is so overdone that I will never be able to find a group. Of course, it may be more difficult to play than people assume, and I'm willing to take the time to learn how.
Can somebody with ranger experience explain more how they fit into the group dynamic? More than the obvious "shooting stuff from a distance". I've never played a bow class in an MMO, but I will at least give it a shot in OB.
Rangers are great in the group dynamic especially a Ranger that knows his class and his group.
Our primary role is DPS but we have a lot of utlity to our arrows also, I also find Rangers are the single greatest class for opening another players chains as we have a lot of effect arrows so knowing your class and your fellow group members classes and timers you can really help to lay out mass DPS.
They are also a very intersting class to play I have alway enjoyed a Ranger done right ala EQ2 and Vanguard (pre nerf) as we are always dancing looking for position or switching between melee and ranged for maximum effect.
Agree it is a very fun class. My original concern was more running out of arrows while in the abyss or such. I hit 25 last night and realized that will probably never happen. I bought 10,000 arrows at the beginning of the week and was only down to 2,000 last night when i restocked. As for hunters in PvP the only class i am having mass difficulty with is Templar. That class is Uber!

During the OB I've seen "Ranger LFG" in the find a group channel constantly. I think it will only be worse as FOTM'ers flood the class at launch. Eventually the ranger pop will thin out as people realize how much of a pita it is to level early on and how difficult it is to get groups because of 1) how many other rangers are running around, 2) the general negative perception held by the general population, and 3) the competition with so many others for class loot.
They can adjust a game all day, but they can't help the issue between the keyboard and the chair.

thats odd last beta i played there was almost as many chanters as there was assassins..lol funny the 3 you named are the 3 i plan on playing, i've made 5 templars during my time in aion from the korean test ,china retail and american beta. i'm not bothering till we get the game for keeps tho. templar is the funnest tank class i've played in any mmo, more like they DW a sword and shield rather than their dmg is gimped by the shield. 1/2 thier attacks you need a shield for.
umm they can use daggers but the dmg sux compared to thier bow, like the only attack i use with daggers is the back stab and didn't do that till i got retreating slash (hits/stuns the mobs knocks you back 25 yards away form the mob). and the dagger attack you have from your scout talents is on the same cool down as your main bow attack combo starter. so use the dagger and do less dmg and have a 2 hit combo or the supieror bow attack with 3 hits and has branch off utility combos.
ranger has a good bit of CC that groups will want. like i had the sleep arrow stigma on my ranger on the chinese retail. they also have defence debuff attacks as well, and traps. Also their class dp ability is pretty nice turns them into a Mau archer ups dps 10% attack speed 30% and movement speed 33% for 2 minutes
utility skills are silence arrow, knockback arrow, heavenly trap (aoe air shackle), armor defuff/healing deuff arrow attack, sand storm trap (aoe root/dot), mana drain shot,snare/dodge debuff shot, root trap.
and i wouldn't discredit the assassins, its honestly just a really fun class to play and much different than the normal rogue class people are use to. with all the kicks they get almost felt like i was playing a monk..lol also a nuke that does more dmg the more combo points you have on a mob. i believe their kicks got up to a 3 chain skill combo, its really good dmg and part of their normal skill rotation not just like an after thought/interupt.
Just from what I'm reading it looks as if the ranger in this game is going to be the "noob" class that everyone picks as stated by the fellow that plays WoW in an earlier post. Just reading this thread is turning me waaaaay off of rangers.

they play nothing like Huntards, they have no pet to rely on to tank for them. and if you read more you'll notice a few have stated that the tough lvling on them will thin out the WoW ADD squad. and assassin is by far the most played class.
