Tired of WoW? - Don't play Aion!
To begin with a disclaimer, I don't think I'm better than anyone else, or the WoW players are somehow inferior to people who play other MMO's.
The fact of the matter is that the majority of people playing WoW have never played another MMO. You know who I mean, the busy executive, the family guy, the active outdoors type. In my opinion, you will never find another MMO which will give you so much for so little. If you fell in love with WoW because you can accomplish something in 20 minutes that's great. Unfortunately, most MMO's are not like that. If you are tired of WoW, why not just go back to concentrating on your busy, full and meaningful life? As opposed to making hundreds of threads in new MMO's as to why they suck compared to WoW.
Sure the MMO companies won't make megabucks from 4-5 million Western Subscribers, but the 1-2 million who want deeper more meaningful gameplay should be able to get on with what they enjoy too right?

I never played WoW, so according to the title of your thread, I will definently give Aion an honest try.

Perhaps too obtuse of an angle. Basically a tongue-in-cheek poke at the hundreds of WoW fans saying Aion sucks because it's not WoW 2 with better graphics. For better or worse, Aion will take time and dedication. If you don't have said time or dedication, why bother posting about how bad it is compared to something which doesn't require time and dedication.?
Edit - Plus i'm a self confessed forum newb, maybe it is in the wrong area? My aim was to inform and deter people looking for similar gameplay to WoW who will try if for 5 seconds then come say how much it sucks. If that isn't you, hello and welcome to a great game, see you in there
....You mean the meaningful life of trolling the forums trying to get people to listen to your opinion and avoid a game? Let people judge it for themselves in my opinion :-). Life is all about choices, find what you enjoy and do it. Many people (like me) use games to get away from the real world (which is stressful).

Me too, i'm not hating Aion, I love it. As I said before just a meaningless and ultimately futile attempt to dissuade those who wouldn't like it in the first place.

Your thread title may be a bit misleading. WoW and Aion, from the outside, appear very similar. I haven't played Aion so I can't comment, but if they are in any way similar, then perhaps players want more of the same, only different (if that makes any sense).
Hopefully you know what I mean.
-Computer specs no one cares about: check.

-Xfire stats no one cares about: check.

The highlighted part of the quote is what im refering to. Hes suggesting that people that want meaningful and deep gameplay want to play a game like Aion which totally isn't true since the game targets carebears (people that hate real risk).
Hes also assuming every WoW player wants a simple easy game like their a bunch of retards.
His whole OP is just a god damn bait thread saying every WoW player is some super casual and doesn't want a challenge.
To the OP AIon is nothing special, I'll go one step further as to say the WoW players that leveled on Pvp servers had a more challenging experience than those playing Aion.

Wait, I'm sorry, are you saying that Aion is deeper and more meaningful than WoW? Dude, WoW has multiple specs for their classes and each of those specs play drastically different from each other. That's years ahead of what Aion has.
Aion has linear progression. Each of your characters will follow the same path. At least WoW gives you an option of where to go every once in a while. Aion is all about invisible walls, limitations and freezing your character during certain animations.

Deep and meaningful is completely based on what a player is looking for in a game. This question is meaingless.
Dude, nothing is wrong with a themepark, even sandbox game are themeparks at the very core, and life itself is a giant themepark we can't seem to find the fences to yet.
Learn to use the word carebear correctly, or not at all.
Deep and meaningful mmorpg does not exist, it is suppose to be entertainment. Each player decide what is deep and meaningful to them, and other people have no say in it.
Learn to respect other's opinion and learn some complex thought forms. I suggest you take Philosophy and Sociology classes when the chance present itself in the future.
