Was this message an in-game tell/whisper?
I am not sure of all the softwares you are running so I wouldn't know.
It could also just be that patch error that some are experiencing.
Is this the first time you ran Aion? Or have it worked before OBT? Need alot of information if you want to seek some possible answers t solve it.
i got it a ingame msg, and no it's not the first time i ran Aion, i had beta the only 2 thing's i have DL have been Ruines of Magic, and Perfect World don't know if that might be the issue???
Read this : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gameguard#Known_blocked_applications
Then see if you have anthing running that matches the list, then close the program.
Make sure you don't have any sort of BIOS-monitoring software (CPU and mobo heat, etc.) running. Gameguard has had issues with that kind of stuff in the past in other MMOs
A message like a whisper? Did they ask for your password?
Seems more like someone is phishing for people's account information. Don't bite!
Gameguard has a live connection with NCSoft GameGuard servers. So if anyone is running a hack that is detected by GameGuard, NCSoft is immediately notified and already has all the information they need. Plus it closes the application instantly!!
So again! Don't bite! I never heard of GameGuard sending ingame whispers asking for info or sending stuff via email!! As it closes Aion instantly when it detects something fishy!!
I'm getting that stupid hack error, though it shows up on my desktop then says it's disconnecting me from the gameworld. I just click the little x and continue playing so I spit in your face and laugh at you, gameguard!
I'm pretty sure it doesn't like me running xfire in the background though. I don't care, Gameguard can suck a fat one.
"IRL is a pretty upstanding MMO with thousands of classes, a lot of PvP and even some pretty unique emotes and titles you can acquire. Explore that world first, then we'll talk about this virtual one."
I think the OP is describing the common GG issue of having a false alarm "detecting" an illegal program. I and others have the exact same issue, with GG shutting the game after 5-10 minutes of gameplay. You will find other threads describing the same problem in this site and on other Aion forums.
The funny bit is that I had no such issues during CB.
Edit: I should mention that my CB client originated directly from NCsoft, while for the OB I purchased the collectors edition, installed and patched from Steam.
GG can't shut the game down if you never click the big "OK" button your desktop. You just alt tab back in until it says "Illegal activity is going on" or something and you just hit the little black x and the rest of the time you're logged on you never have to deal with GG again. It's a minor inconvenience at most for me currently.

That is different then what the OP describes.
The error you described I had last night only once. A general error, because it lost connection with NCSoft GG server(s). It then closes down the application.
It's just one of the many connection issues NCSoft has to deal with along with their Login servers!
The OP is describing that he received a ingame whisper and that he has to send stuff through email.
That is fishy as Gameguard never sends you an ingame tell nor to send an email. It just closes down the application instantly if it detects a hack and sends the information to NCSoft on the background, without you even knowing it.
To Twiggy550:
I know, but then ingame a window pops up with a message that the game will close. There is a cancel button on it, so you can close it. But then it pops up every minute after that. Kind of annoying.
To Guillermo197:
I tried the game during early in the day (before work) afternoon, evenings, midnight etc. The traffic is different, but the error is constant. I don't think it has to do with the GG update servers, otherwise I should have a non-interrupted session at some point in the midst of interrupted ones.
Really? It only shows up once for me, then it's gone for the remainder of my play time. Maybe I'm lucky, I don't know.

By the way, I think the OP is describing the same thing. He can clarify of course, but the message about the "illegal program" comes from an ingame popup window. Outside the game, a more vague popup window also opens mentioning that "Gameguard will be closed" with no more details. I don't remember the details about the mail part, I'll have to check it again this evening.
The joys of GameGuard.
lol i got 5 of the program on the list every time gg is around they try to make us remove our freaking security
they are freaking incompetent cant they phone those company and adapt gg lol
nha screw this im staying away from gameguard its a pck of problem every freaking time that program is around
aion should have used the same program neo -steam use no problem and it protect
unlike freaking gamegard
Every hack prevention system has a work-around, however in this case, Gameguard goes against the average player rather than works with them. Kind of like what Punkbuster does in your average Battlefield 2 match.
It's terribly annoying, but I doubt the software Neosteam uses is any safer however.

i went to check its name is called
X-TRAP
The Gameguard sux comments don't really help. I'm not looking for sympathy, I'm looking for ideas, answers and solutions.
What security software are you running?
I run Avast Home edition, have Windows Firewall up, have my basestation setup in NAT and Gameguard just works fine.
Last year, when I still ran McAfee... I had no issues with gameguard either (was with TCOS).
Most people with AntiVirus combined with gameguard problems are running crap like Norton!!
I have the nagging suspicion that it has more to do with Steam than with the AV. My AV didn't change from CB when I had no problems, to OB.
You might be right. I haven't tried launching Aion without Steam yet.

lol i run norton and it protect my computer very good ty
i wont get rid of it just because gg is too cheap to come to term with norton its not our fault gg cant speak to norton
Why the hell do you use Norton? It's as bad of a virus protection program as gameguard is as a bad game protection client.
That's like disaster ASKING to happen

You might hate one of the ideas here, and it might not solve your issue, but here they are:
Go to NCsoft folder > Aion> bin32 > Gameguard > Find GameMon.des file and delete it.
Run the launcher, and GG will repatch, see if it does anything to help.
Other wise, clean reinstall. Remember to delete extra files in your hard drive after the uninstall.
Clean your registry and restart if you want. Reinstall Aion, but if the installer ask you if you want to modify, repair, remove.
Choose remove then run installer again for the clean reinstall.
See if these two helps, if not, I'll try to think of something.
Edit: To Twiggy550
Yeah, some of the Anti-vrius programs make Gameguard look good almost. This bring up a really bad memory.
I've tried everything, including deleting the whole gameguard folder. What I didn't try so far is:
