New Missions and Content Added to Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to LightspeedTM
Just six weeks after a very successful launch, the developers of Star Wars Galaxies have announced that over 30 new missions have been added to Jump to Lightspeed, the game's new space component. Also announced is the addition of another multi-passenger ship to the already over 20 craft in game, the M22-T Krayt Gunship. With the M22-T, Privateers Pilots, the Han Solos of the sky are now able to enter battle with a friend acting as a defensive gunner.
"Players are enjoying crafting and owning the iconic craft like the X-Wings and the TIE fighters, but they also have a chance to pilot ships like the M22-T that are brand new to the Star Wars Universe," says Haden Blackman, LucasArts producer.
Players adventuring on the ground are also being rewarded with a new in-game loot system. Rewards for defeating enemies include special skill enhancements, over 20 new pieces of artwork, including Darth Vader and Han Solo "Wanted!" posters. And work continues on the Combat Upgrade, a project that will take the combat of Star Wars Galaxies to the next level of engaging fun.
And for anyone who is interested in creating their own saga in the Star Wars universe (including all the action of Jump to Lightspeed), starting December 17, 2004, FilePlanet.com will host a 10 day free trial.

10:00pm on 12/17/2004 where is the free trial?
I wish they'd just cut the bull and take Star Wars off of the title of those products. Jump to Lightspeed specifically. Its not Star Wars. Its Wing Commander with ganked Star Wars ship models. Just about everyone who designed that game are former members of the Wing Commander team. If they wanted STAR WARS, they should've used the X-Wing games as references.
WHATever, though, I'm sure some people are thrilled to have new missions that will only add up to them flying to Point A and blowing up some poorly AI'd enemy then flying to Point B and blowing up a couple more poorly AI'd enemies, then returning home to do it all over again. And to that end, fly on... Christopher "Maverick" Blair, fly on...
With the exception of the new master level ship, most of this stuff was released almost 3 week ago. hehe Admin you've got a bunch of old news there.

I see. So basically SOE just kind of waited until the master privateer ship was out and then lumped all the announcements together. Makes sense.

I think were blaming the wrong people here. Lucasarts and SOE are not to be blamed. I mean they don't own fileplanet.com. Those guys up in fileplanet are to be blamed since they haven't uploaded the free trial to their "so cool" servers.

BS! i think its for subscribers only......They are 4 days late and its members only! WTF......
Yea, somthing i'd expect from SOE. Its a company that cares only about money, not the quality of thier games...or thier customer service, or what thier customers think...
This is a prime example of why I don't buy anything from Sony. I refuse to buy a product with horrible customer service that doesn't give a crap about what they sell. I hope somoene from SOE reads this to see that not everyone will buy games from companies that rip people off. Ditto for FilePLanet, a cheap ploy to get you to pay 15 dollars for 2 months.
