Late last month we reported on the announcement that Fallen Earth would see its release date delayed from September 9th, 2009 to September 15th, 2009. Today, we bring news of yet another delay.
The game is now slated to launch on September 22nd, 2009 (which also happens to be the day Aion launches, for those keeping track). Those who pre-ordered will still be able to enter the Early Access program beginning September 9th, 2009.
A short quote is available below:
"Our main focus is to make sure that Fallen Earth is easily accessible to as many fans as possible," said Jessica Orr, product manager for Fallen Earth. "We are working on initiatives that are near fruition and we simply need more time."

This is already anounced days ago..in the official forums...
I wonder what the problem is though. Considering the pre-orders can join on time.
I wonder if they are doing this on purpose. For the few that actually like both games to have to choose one over the other. IDK.
Veritas Vos Liberabit- The truth will set you free.
Since the pre-orders can get in, it sounds like a simple distribution or shipping problem...probably something last minute with the printers or something...
I would rather they delay it than release something that isn't finished, regardless of what it may be.
Game need some delay, its not ready yet.
Sam release date as Aion... very bad move ( says a CE pre order Aion fan )
I don't know about that. It's a very different game from Aion. I don't think people who choose one or the other will be swayed by a week or two.

It's a problem with billing apparently. Pre-orderers gain access tomorrow. And, trust me, there couldn't be two games more different than FE and Aion
(WoW and EVE come to mind, but hyperbole makes things look clearer)
Or Warhammer and any game with a decent end game.
Trust me, it's either laugh - or cry.

I played the open beta, and it was too much for my computer which had better specs than the min requirements by a lot.. I upgraded my pc since (not because of that), but the point remains that many slightly older rigs will not function so well.
if you preorderd aion it doesnt make a difference when fallen earth is released because you would go play aion eventually anyway.

notice the " "
and I think it will influence the amount of players for fallen earth ( was CB tester myself )
But hey, just my opinion
FALLEN EARTH needs month not days
no vehicle physics engine
no grenade physics engine
no water physics engine
poor proformance for this type of game engine
marginal quality control for instance they got the shotgun sizes wrong oh and no shotgun physics engine.
boring 1 dimentional PVP (basicly a sword and gun gang fight)
LONG boring rides through empty terrain
much less content as you raise in level and zones
I will say this... they have the start of a great harvest and crafting system and an excelent day night cycle.
recomend puting this game on hold for at least 6 months or a year till they get the game up to speed and install the needed physics engines oh the vehicles are not much more than NOOB BAIT as there is no sustomization
oh all those cool clothes and looks in the trailers? OBSOLETE after the first 5 levels and they use a STAT based clothing system and have no costume clothing option so dont expect to be level 20 and be looking all punkish or roadwarrior,, it will only happen if you dissreguard being practical your gonna be wearing the level required armor.
make a world, not a game, we dont want another game.
Same day as Aion :O
but is that not a little unfair, 2 week eary access

I disagree. I was in the beta for about a month and IMHO it's ready to go live. Sure there are a few bugs yet to be squashed but these are (in my experience) pretty minor and don't really affect gameplay in any significant way.
Boring is in the eye of the beholder. Is a long ride through the desert somehow really more boring than, say, a long hike through the forest in (insert name of any of the bazillion overdone and over-hyped WoW/EQ/LoTRO-style fantasy MMO's here)?
You're wrong about the clothes too. You start off with a standard-issue Globetech clone uniform, then upgrade to crappy, fairly ugly-looking clothes (called armor in-game). You get the cool-looking stuff later in the game, after you leave Sector 1, join a faction, and gain access to faction-specific armor vendors.
I'll reserve comment on the PvP for now as I haven't experienced enough of it yet to offer a credible opinion. That'll change soon though, and I'd be happy to get into that down the road.
As far as engine performance goes, my PC is only a few months old, Phenom II 940 3.0, Radeon 4870, 8g RAM, and I don't have the slightest problem other than the very occasional slight hitch as I travel into an area I haven't been before. I'd expect that, just as it was for me when I played EvE with my old PC (often with major lag issues and the occasional crash to desktop), the real problem is more likely with your PC than with the game.
I was on the fence between Fallen Earth and Aion. I wanted to pre-order Aion from amazon because of the "no tax" and "free 2nd day shipping" that I get for being an amazon.com prime member. Not to mention the amazon pts I get on my credit card for making my purchases through them.
Anyways... unless you pre-order a DIGITAL copy, you get screwed out of head start / early access.
A shame really. I would have given the game a 6 month sub to see where it took me. Unless they change the policy, I'll be tollerating the "power gamers" in Aion.

Yeah, was announced last week but pre-orders still get in tomorrow at 2pm Est.
As someone else mentioned, I think they were having technical issues where Billing and Accounts were concerned.
Y'know, I have to say I've never understood this logic, and you're far from the first to express it.
MMO's aren't single-player games that offer a linear experience (in terms of a game designed to be played through from beginning to final ending), they're open-ended player-driven experiences that you (theoretically) can continue playing for years. Given that, and assuming that most MMO players subscribe to an MMO because they expect to be playing it long-term, it makes no sense to me to choose a game based on the availability of a discount or some sort of in-game bonus.
If you're going to be investing in an MMO that you plan to play for a long time, how does it make sense to choose one based on being able to save a few bucks on price or whether or not you can get a hard copy? Chances are, you'll forget about that few bucks you saved pretty soon, but the choice you made in order to save those bucks is one you'll likely have to live with long term, unless you decide to quit the one you chose and essentially end up paying double to try a different one.
Just because two games are different doesn't mean that the same people might not want to play both.
I usually play two different MMO's and I certainly don't want to play two versions of the same thing.
Just another point of view...
I played the open beta. I do enjoy that game but i can understand the delay.
The main i meet problem are :
Gameplay problem :
It saddens me that smaller companies always run into time/funding related issues, even if they have great ideas for new MMORPGs. I mean, if whats written in the posts above me is true, then this game is not ready for release.
Does anyone care about this MMO for real people? With all the choices out there today this just seems like a bad remake of Anarchy Online. With Aion coming out and CHO, I don't see many people flocking over to this game.
you only spend AP to raise your INT and Perception stats which in turn will allow max tradeskill, but to max tradeskills themselves you don't use ap it is based off use, the more you craft in a particular discipline the higher the tradeskill becomes.
for instance i am creating a character that is a max crafter but also will be able to use max armor/max dodge/max pistols and Rifle/ one near max mutation skill and about 32 points into athletics or first aid. You get 880 points just level to 45 plus right now there is a confirmed 279 bonus points from simply questing though to get all of the confirmed will take some faction wheeling. Sticking to one fact confirmed is about 220 ap which in turn gets you around 1100 AP to spend
