I heard something about this as well, sort of similar to what LOTRO did at launch. In OB, the game characters looking amazing while the terrain textures are absolutely horrendous imo

I agree and i'm really wondering why no one is bringing up this point at all. Seems like people are so used to WoW's 256x256 stretched-to-the-max low-res textures that they are pretty much satisfied with the graphical terrain quality Aion offers.
not that im aware of, mmorpg dont usually have mods like that...goes against the User agreement
but game looks fine as it is imo, they added lower textures as to lower the system requirment
Lotro did this as well, but they had a high resolution texture package that was optoinal install and of course optional to use. that said, at high resolutions Lotro had serious memory issues out of the gate ( with those textures ).
They could be rolling with these textures until they get that straightened out. At least i hope, i was standing on a rock today and i looked at the ground and thought i was in eq1 lol

I, too, wish that the textures were nicer. We need to start a petition.

I wasn't talking like a mod of some sort, I just thought I remembered hearing about an official add-on for high resolution textures, that's all.
