Game like AC would be very huge hit!

What I love about AC and I'm sure allot people feel like this way too.  Once you logged in for the first time... u dont know wtf to do beside killing to level up?  There is no quest to do after u do tutorial part.  Its because the game wanted you to do whatever you want at  first minute!  Not just doing the quest in order to level up, like ton of another game, then you are strong enough to go next area or whatever.  I think this what makes those game boring.  It doesn't level restrict you for using that skill for, all skill comes at once which gives u all the selection to work on whatever you want!  The huge neverending area to run and explore and never know who you are going to run into!  Also it doesn't have boss around in anywhere to prevent you not to go there.  The only place boss would be is on quest!  Neverending levels to gain!  It doesn't requires much of tank, CC, healer stuff like that because they want to be balance by gears which makes it unique!  It doesn't prevent you to go there because your a swordman that you can buff up yourself than depend others to buff you!  All the skill are equal to everyone, there is no "special race or class" to require this certain of skill which makes it unique as well!

Like for example,  gathering 16 motes at GBG or RC for making Atlan weapon in order to kill Lugian Cidatel better.  However it requires skill to make it though and you can work on it anytime!  And then another scary quest to get lightning stone to put on your sword to make it stronger!  That was just so awesome part of AC.  Same thing goes for Olthoi Horde Nest that needs acid Atlan!  You also need Fire Atlan to go hunt in MEANY Tusker dungeon!

Also, you can also work on run/jump skill which is big thing too because most of all game has same run skill and u cant improve it.  Also it requires those skill to catch pvper or run away from mob if you are dying.  You have very good jump skill and you can jump on something and they cant catch you!  The experince points you earn from killing, you can put in skill anytime you want.  Doesn't have to wait till you level up in order to improve yourself.

In overall, what I'm trying to say is Turbine should consider make game like AC style to show all other MMORPG game that this game is way more fun and alive!  Let those kind of game reborn!  I know there is probably allot topic like this, I'm just expressing my feeling and thoughts thats all.  AC will always be in my heart.

I used to play on Morningthaw under Old Gandalf(level 200 mage), some of Darktide too.

I also wanted to mention couple more things that I popped in my head.   Its also nice that there is no "zone" boundaries to exit to go next zone unless there is portal to go in dungeon.  You basically can go anywhere, even trying to get on top of mountain by jumping skill, and dungeon that requires a jumping skills.  The Vassal and Patron system is nice as well. They are being so creative and the monster is Fantasy.  It shouldn't have such things like spider, rat, dog, fox, and bunch more common animal that we have right now. All those kinds of "living mob" right now which makes its boring because its nothing exciting to know what they look alike.  It needs to be creative to make you think u can kill it or not? Does it make you scary?

What I would call a perfect game is allot features from AC.  Features like equal skill system, combat system, dodging, no 1 hit OHKO because it doesnt give you chance to dodge, escape, and survive which would make you beat your heart so fast and would be allot fun!  Restriction amount of time you can do the quest again.  Like you can do the same quest again in 15 days, it prevents the people by camping it so other people can do the quest without other people interferring.  Thats why there shouldn't be a boss around in general at all.  Also  no 3rd party program, no micro(cash-shop items).  The monthly bill is fine.  No Auctionhouse because I think it will ruins the fun because you depend on auctionhouse to get better gear than go hunt to find some, or even go on quest to get item.  No quest exp reward, only items!  You only can earn exp by killing!  Can't set up your own store too.  Have gigantic map like AC but more more more bigger!  Having unlimit levels to gain but slowly like 300+ levels!  Which will give the Dev allot allot of time to make more contents to see what they need to work on for next expansion or whatever.

    Greatest mmo i ever played...

Im hopeing that Darkfall ends up being something like AC's darktide but as far as a trilogy for AC....

Cant say i can really ever envision it after they ruined ac2 and Turbine is really caking in off of LOTRO and on top of that they have released a few mmo's post ac1 and ac2 and absolutely none of them have been open sandbox'ish,  instead they have been more like the games you just compared AC to unfortunately.

But if your subd to AC atm go ahead and roll a char on darktide and try it out and if you dont mind playing ffa pvp then you may wanna check out Darkfall, Its as close as a game is gonna come to AC for a very long time... if ever again.

Also keep in mind that you wont be getting gankd by someone thats 140+ lvls higher but rather a zerg of players like yourself... I dunno about you but id take the zerg all day lol.

I really wanted to play AC, but I just couldn't because its outdated and people depends on 3rd party like decal way more nowadays.  I remember the days there was no decal at all, which was so blast!  When decal came in, it ruins the leveling part because once u get high level, those mob will be too easy and the challenge will be no fun.

I have read allot post on darkfall forum and here.. I don't think I'm going to try that game out.

Darkfall could have been awesome but devs screwed up alot and now they running behind and can't catch up on there failors, its also alot different then AC.

AC2 is also completely different then AC if they had release it 9 months later with hero patch and MS would have not screwed it up plus AC fans just stick to there ancient game stuck in the past then AC2  would have still be alive and kicking.

I dont think a re launch of ac2 would be wise.

A grafhical update of AC and chance somethings back to first 2 years with improvements that keep the early ac intact maybe would be nice but i still doub AC would with all these improvements a viable options for new MMO.

    Games played:AC1-Darktide'99-2000-AC2-Darktide/dawnsong2003-2005,Lineage2-2005-2006 and now Darkfall-2009.....
In between WoW few months AoC few months and some f2p also all very short few weeks.

Yet, for some reason when Turbine went to build a sequel, they didn't follow the forumula that made the orginal a success.

Also puzzling is the fact they haven't considered making another sequel, they must not see much in the way of profit potential though I'm not sure why.

Yeah AC2 failed because it failed to attract their loyal AC1 playerbase.  When a company totally fails to deliver like that, it's really no surprise AC2 didn't work out.  Whenever you make sequels, you gotta find a way to keep what worked with the first one, and expand on it to make the game just a tad better.  AC2 was the opposite of better, it was something AC1 players (myself included at the time) didn't want.

Turbine seems to be happy with LOTR Online, which is where they get their money from now.  With a successful hit like it, they are probably less inclined to make an AC3 and chance another failure.  It's really too bad, Asheron's Call remains one of my favorite games of all time.

The thing that kills me is the flawed thinking that shows up with these threads.

First of all saying a game like AC would be a huge hit, well guess what AC is still up and running and doing well so join back up and play it.

Second is saying they don't want to play AC but they want a new AC to play, the truth is simple if you sit there and don't pay for a game but want another game just like it then nothing will happen. Companies don't go off of what people say, they don't have meetings and say they read all these posts about people who said they'd play a new AC. What they go off of is player numbers and money. So if they see that the AC numbers slowly rise instead of fall then they can start thinking that clearly there is a solid market in MMOs for a new AC.

If you really want one then sign up and enjoy AC and show your support. If you don't really want one but want to talk about how neat it would be then just post about how it's a shame there's no AC style games around (when AC is around) and don't support the games.

I did sign back up for AC a while ago, but I couldn't get past the interface. Without a mouse look, I have no interest at all. I am curious if my characters are still around somewhere. Been about a decade since I played them. :)

Options -> Gameplay Options -> Configure Keyboard -> Camera -> Toggle Mouselook = You choose a mouse button and while it's held down moving the mouse moves the camera like in all other games. It is there. The default value is the mouse wheel button instead of the right mouse button for some reason. Also the default for zooming the camera in and out is + and - but you can set it to the mouse wheel if you prefer.

I don't believe they've deleted any characters ever, since people keep coming back and the reactivate 9 year old accounts with their characters still there.

I think is for sure, we dont want another AC2 game.   If Turbine ever do another AC sequal it needs to be based on the original game, i'm talking about the mechanic of the game, the huge world, monthly updates, continious storyline, not a shitty wannna be WOW AC2 game.
