        I played in the open beta up until level 16 and got really bored of game and the kill this many things and return back quest.  There was very little player to player interaction, you can solo almost every thing in all of Sector 1.   I don't like the art and design of the player characters and armor.  The female toon's look a bit off,  there legs are just a bit too long or some thing and the texture/paint job on the abdominal area is trash.

      I think a F2P game like Rappelz has way way better looking female characters not that i am a fan of Asian grinders at all.  I know the game changed alot from what it looked like a few years ago, So that's good but it's just not on par with other 15$ games.  I wish it all the best and hope its around in a years time with a good enough population.

    I wouldn't pay 5 bucks a month for this boring game

    Yea it is funny how this turned in to how graphics don't make the game lol I don't think the game got a bad rating for not having good graphics...the article even said that it was about flawed graphics, as in the game is not finished.

    Anyone else play the game? Right now, most of the people defending the game never played it, and those that played it said it sucked.

     The only legit complaints I see the guy made was that there was something strange about the way the graphics were implemented. I couldn't quite describe it but it did exist. It wasn't really bad or anything, pretty subtle in fact. The combat is animation is a little rough around the edges, making it a little herky jerky. Hmm. I probably would have bought and played it if I had the time to spend on it. I had a couple issues with the game. I played the beta with two characters. A rifle character into the mid teens and a melee character up to the low teens.

    I have played the game.  Yeah, the graphics are definitely nothing to write home about.  I even laughed a bit when I started the game up.  Played the beta after Champions' beta.  So I was like... what is this piece of crap?  I have xbox games that look better.  Not 360, but regular xbox.

    And then I bought the game because the devil made me do it.  I mean it is coming out on 9/9/9.

    Just kidding.  I found the idea of scrounging around in a post apocalyptic world appealing.  I watch a lot of the Max Max/Apocalypse genre so the setting is a big interest for me.   Do I think they should have gone free?  Yeah.  They should have done like EVE and gone free at first before starting a monthly fee so that it could build a good core of players.  It doesn't matter, though.  I am willing to pay $15 a month to play a game that will take up hours and hours of my time.  Hell, people pay $20 a month to rub one out fifteen minutes a day.  The community of the game is rather mature and pleasant, as well.  Very refreshing after reading the Champions forums.

      Is it overpriced?  Yeah, if its not your idea of entertainment.  For people interested in that sort of thing, it is reasonable.  I'm going to play it.  But that's my opinion.  In the end of the day, though, opinions are like anuses... ...you know the rest.

    I'd like to know when EvE was free to play.  I've owned the game since it launced and it has always been a monthly subscription:  from $9.99 to $12.99 to the now $14.99.

    You are getting really off topic, but eve did have a free trial without having to purchase anything at all; they may even still do it.

    The person said that the game was free until they got a base, and then went to charge. Free trials are part of every MMO, so would be nothing EvE specific. And yes, they still give 14 days free.

    Has the OP actually bought the game and set up a subscription yet?

    If not, who fucking cares. If you think the price is too high, both for the box and for the monthly, dont buy it, and more to the point, dont make a post about it.

    If you do plan to buy the game but the monthly fee owrries you, buy a quarterly block sub.

    And for gods sake, since when its $3.75 a week to play a MMORPG expensive? Jesus, I spend more than that per day on coffee.

    LOTRO, 10 bux a month :)

    I currently play LotRO and it costs me 14.99 a month ..same as all the rest unless of course I pay for multiple months in advance which I can't do

    I was paying 9.99 a month until i finally decided to get the lifetime membership. Turbine offerred this price to all pre-orders, then again at its one year anniversary. Yes, you could only get the deal at certain times, but it does exist.

    As we are discussing the price of a game that is soon to launch and its launch price, I believe its a very reasonable comparison (whomever made it).

    Why charge the same for an inferior product?

    Because the word "inferior" is a subjective term.  One could make the statement that the gameplay concepts of Aion are inferior to that of Fallen Earth just as one could say the graphics of Fallen Earth are inferior to Aion's. To me, Aion's gameplay falls into the "dime a dozen" mmo trend in game making these days. It's graphics look polished and neat, which I suppose fits the lore. Fallen Earth's gameplay systems aren't the norm in sum total. While they do share some features, they've actually made effort to add others that the current mmo trend forumla doesn't give room for or if it does it does so in a watered down, shallow way with zero room (or I should say intent) for expansion. Fallen Earth's graphics aren't the neat, rounded shiny graphics that Aion's are. They are rough and edged, like one would expect after a disaster. That doesn't mean they are horrible, they just aren't...shiny, like WoW and Aion and LOTRO.

    That's not to say Aion won't be a good game. It will be for those who want that kind of MMO and there are 12 million of them in WoW. Getting them to come from WoW is...well, not my concern at all so I won't speculate.

    That said I wouldn't mind all games going back to my beloved Asheron's Call $9.99 pricing of ages past. Especially until we get to a point where Shareholders and CEOs aren't running the show and let the actual devs make games to a point where they are relatively bug free and truly content complete. When that goal becomes the standard, then I can see a justification for a price of $15 to $18 a month.

    It could be worse some people still pay $15 a month for swg.

  • OrphesOrphes Member UncommonPosts: 3,039

    I feel it is overpriced. Still I will buy it, just haven't gotten to do it yet.

    The monthly fee is ok, but not $50 for the download.

    But well, as I said I'll buy it and play it anyway.

    I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention.

    Your right!  Me making a post about discussing what people's thoughts are on the game is far less productive then your troll post about not posting discussions....

    I never made the argument that 15.00 per month for an mmo was too expensive, I asked people that played the game if they felt this game was worth it.

    Because people are sick and tired of listening to people complain. We don't want to hear it anymore. If you don't like the game don't play it. If you think it's too expensive, don't play it. If you think the graphics are crap, don't play it. Just don't play it, go play something you like instead.

    Yeah Id say the game is worth it.  Ive been waiting for this game for a little over a year and I was going to pre order but I decided to hold off. First off I don't want any free mount, Id rather make it my self.  Other reason I really need to buy some herb and work on some music for my band anyways and If I get FE I won't do anything but play that game cuz its so much fun. heh.

    But yeah I will be buying the game for sure day of launch for sure though.

    Just came to say that the words "inferior" or "superior" are NOT subjective terms.

    I think they are because its all about the person opinion.  10 mill people think WoW is superior but I think it is inferior.

    If you look at other mmos who charged the 50/15 at launch ask yourself if you think you are getting the same quality game as other mmos. It is a subjective issue at best. No matter what the pricing is , Fallen Earth just needs to have a successful launch first before anything else happens.

    But yeah, No way I could ever play FE.

    Why play Lotro when you can play the game it basically copied? wow!

    I would rather play hello kitty online than Lotro.

    FE atleast is a different type of game and well worth 15 bucks a month for its dedicated fans.

    Whenever I see someone claim LOTRO is a WoW copy, I see a sign screaming "I am an MMO noob and WoW was my first". LOTRO is based very strongly, gameplay and interface both, in AC2, the game whose engine it is using. All these supposed features that Turbine copied from Blizzard were present in AC2, which predated WoW by almost 2 years. Who is the copycat now?

    Stupid thread is stupid.

    I pre-ordered, I believe the game is worth it. The early access starts in 37 minutes. Can't wait.

    { Mod Edit }

    Guild Wars is not a true MMORPG, scratch that off.

    Free 2 Play MMORPGs are complete and utter shit.  The Free 2 Play model stymies product development.  You do know that just about every F2P MMORPG is developed in Asia, where it is P2P, it is only F2P in the US because the games don't have enough substance to warrant the pricing of P2P.  The development of F2P games in the US is localization, IE: Translating stuff.

    LOTRO is $14.99 a month, unles you happen to subscribe at certain times with certain promotions.  These include the launch of a new expansion, being a founder, and sometimes at Christmas.  The pricing would be $9.99 a month or you can purchase a lifetime subscription for $199.99.  { Mod Edit }

    I'll give you FFXI, and I have no idea on WoW pricing.

    $49.99 + $14.99 a month with options for discounts on three and six month subscriptions is quite standard.  { Mod Edit }

    I thought that EVE was free for a period of time.  Not the 21 day trial, but that before the Apocrypha expansion it was free for a while.  I guess I was wrong, though.  My bad.

    I dont like the $50 up front cost. I realize this is standard, but I play EVE, and so didnt have to pay $50 for the first month. In fact, I paid $8 for the first month, then $15 after. Now that Im succesful in game, I play for free by using in game money to buy time. So, its asking a bit much to pay $50 for FE, unless i get 3 months included.
