Runes of Magic - robering the players

Dear fans of mmoprg gaming,

It past a one week since we got into a 'small' problem, and it goes and goes further.

After last patching Runes of Magic, players started to lose their gears and equipments!!!

All high lvl enchanted gears, payed with real money... now all it's gone!!!

Not only, money, there are the people which spent their time, weeks and months to be competitive at end game. Only thing that Frogster and Runewaker are doing that they refunding (not to all) some piece

of shit, not even worth!!!

All topics, all questions to developers and publishers are closed immediately on official forum,

as they said, it breaks forum rules. But, what about breaking the law and continuous stealing from

people thay play game and pay some real cash for it?!

I just wanna this be spread around the web, cause now all RoM players going public and legal to get

everything back what they lost. And, I believe if they don't stop to robe the players, Frogster will be

sued in a short time.

Only thing, what they care is to promote (fail) chapter II, no one care about players.

So, pls let's discuss about this, I wanna hear also experienced players from other f2p games, about this problem.

Server: EU - Macantaht

To Frogster and Runewaker: This is EU, not Chinna, nor communism, u should have respect to people who play and

love this game or make consequences.

To forum members: Please, do not troll 'why u play this game, u shouldn't pay for it, etc...'

Thanks!

Edit: closed topics about lost equip: http://forum.runesofmagic.com/showthread.php?t=83371

From what I'm seeing, this must be going on only on EU servers, because I haven't heard or seen anything about this on the US servers.

there is defenitely something going on, at least on the european Macantacht server. a guildie lost about 9 items which he kept for stats for his future gear in a game crash, not a big deal compared to what some others lost but nevertheless painfull for a free player..

some of the better geared players -read: guys who without a doubt have spend considerable amounts of cash- lost more important items, some got compensated with a few measly cash shop items, some got nothing at all.

some give the advice to keep screenshots of your items but according to my guildy the "support" insinuates that these screenshots are no proof at all because some might photoshop them.

games can crash, bugs can happen and yes .... some players will always try to cheat things but i have promptly decided to not spend anything anymore  because of this kind of biased attitude "support"  takes. whatever the cause it is not a game to "invest" money in under such unsure conditions imho.

i lost an Item, a +3 Staff L30 while Mailing it to my other character. It never appeared again.

i reported it and never got any help, the item was lost, not much but since no GM helped me to get it back i left this game.

i feel robbed and wont ever return, simple and easy

I haven't heard of any problems like this yet. I personally have not experienced anything but could understand the frustration if this happened to me, especially if I have spent diamonds on stating the gear.

The support for a F2P game doesn't seem as helpful as a P2P game. I think it should be somewhat equal for all the real money people spend on diamonds. I think F2P is a more of a "bookmark" until a better P2P game is released. I am looking forward to the new Star Wars.

I've heard a few people mention this has happened to them now, I've not experienced it yet on Smacht but its kinda worrying (not that I'm high level yet) but its pretty horrible considering how many hours of playing you spend to get your items to a decent level.

Has anyone heard of Frogster or the devs or support commenting on this matter yet? Or has anyone actually had any feedback from GMs?

the original FIVEDOLLAR - now every time i try a brand new game someones tapped my proper name :(

While I was playing Age of Conan, over a several patch' s I lost 4 hard worked for items.  I reported the losses but just got brushed of  by a GM who basically told me "it happens, get over it".

I don't play AOC any more.

I'm playing on the Macantacht server (or whatever it's called) and I've seen this discussed in zone chat. Some of the guys seem to have lost decent items and they've been given fairly sub par stuff back in return - if anything.

I agree with the general thrust of this thread and I do think Frogster need to get a handle on this sooner rather than later - their present attitude won't wash. If they are charging considerable amounts of real money for these items, then it's their responsibility to ensure that the player has access to that equipment. I'd say that those claiming theft have a fairly good case and Frogster need to do something about it, not snub their noses at the player base.

At the very least, it'll bring unwelcome publicity for them at a time when they are trying to build this game up.

The cash shop plays a big role in RoM, they are undoubtedly making money from it and they need to act responsibly towards their customers, or they may find themselves going the same way as so many others in the MMO market.

I honestly think that all free 2 play companies do something like this to screw over players and get them to pay again for things. Maybe also to keep the balance in the game and have other new players feel motivated to spend money to be the best.

In almost every free 2 play game I have played something like this happens. High end players loose their gear, Ether hacking became very wide spread and the company did nothing, or bugs in the system caused players to loose drops and gear. For what ever reason F2P games seem to all have something like this happen. Funny how 5/5 F2P games I have played until High levels had this happen and 1/8 P2P games I have played until High level had it happen. The one game that had it happen (FFXI back in 2004 with hacking) had the problem fixed in about a month. I think the F2P  companies do it on purpose.

Actually I think it has to do more with inept system designers than with outright dishonesty.  Improper structure linking, followed by improperly designed code and database patches, will always result in problems such as you described, in addition to more bugs introduced than fixed with each major patch.

No, it is was happening on the US servers.  Either you were not in a large active guild, or you only casually played a few hours a month, or you never read the US forums.  I read the forums in detail, ESPECIALLY after every patch, so as to avoid the new bugs that are screwing others.  Unfortunately, some bugs are reported too late to avoid, like castle downgrading and lost guild resources and furniture.

Frogsters corporate policy is to provide NO game documentation, relying solely on its customers to document the game for its other customers.  This means many get ripped off by Cash Shop purchases, since the items do not perform up to their one sentence descriptions.  If people would study the forums first, most of the Cash Shop items would never be purchased ever again, server wide.
