Builds question

BodeusBodeus Member Posts: 516

can you have a different spec (powerset) for each build you have? Like at 15 i have 2 build available can i have different power for each build? Like switch to build 2 retcon down all my powers(if i could afford it) and train different powers from my build 1 spec?

no, thats for changing from healer, tank, dps spec. you cant change powers unless you purchase them with your points.

so if we can't change powers its just to switch gear?

thats exactly it. you can only change gear. the game isnt going to allow you to have 4 different power sets on one char.

o ok , wasn't sure if it was like CoH where my second build i had nothing but defensive and healer powers didn't get any offencive in that one. other i had the heals but not much defence and had offence bought. tho i see why its not like that on here since you can mix and match your powers. would be like lvling 4 characters by lvling one

While you can't change powersets you can change Your stat bonus's, gear, and costumes.   You get access to role bonus's over time usually all of them by lvl 10.  The Balanced is the basic build where its going off basically your basic stats, then you have Avenger which lowers some stats but boosts other ones for dps needs, another for defense, support etc.     you can then tie gear and costume's to it as well.

The role you have assigned plays a pretty important role.  I know for pvp I stick with Balanced but in PvE im usually full on Avenger while my friend is Support.

As people have stated, this is for gear and costumes. I have characters that I have had no need to change and keep a rather balanced item set while others I have a couple of item sets going. For my main character, I use the feature purely for costume changes.
