PVE => PVP

One of the things that had been hard in GW1 is the move from PVE to PVP.

Many had fallen on the way to HA, and many more did not make it to GVG. The reasons for that are huge learning curve (both GVG & HA) and poor grouping and matching mechanism (HA). As one who enjoyed GW PVP to no end, I'd like many more to join in. I wonder how Anet is tackling the problem and help in making the transition easyer to enable many more people to join.

Looking at both top group PVP games: GVG and HA, I like their concept.

GVG allows competitive peer2peer fights.

HA allows grind base high end PVP.

    I guess you haven't been following the info ;)

    ANet has noticed that there is very much hardcore PvPers in their PvP section, with casual PvPers being left in the Desolation with no canteen (though IMO Jade Quary makes for a good casual PvP) and are making changes for GW2

    Besides the retention of the current PvP section, complete with ability to make PvP-only chars, they are making a World vs World, or better put Server vs Server PvP in for casual PvPers based in the Mists. From what I can tell it will be less 'kill the enemy X players v X players' and more 'you can kill the enemy with Y players v X players, or you can do this area here where something needs to be accomplished, or...' So it would be more of a fun PvP than the e-Sport that GW PvP currently is.

    Don't say "fun PvP" 'cause e-sport PvP is also fun. Say "casual PvP".

    For GvG, I believe what was already in GW1 was enough. All you had to do was spectate a few matches with your guild mates to get some pointers, then basically just get in it. The ladder system ensures an opponent nearest you skill level. It really wasn't all that hard to get into. Its just takes effort to be succesful.

    I dont believe the Buddy System works in the Mist.  that will be PvE only. But I believe there will be collectable objectives in the Mist for Casual Players to not feel useless. Anet said the Mist will be LvL and Gear effected unlike Arena

    I guess you misinterpreted what I meant by fun. The way I meant it was 'less serious', especially compared to what the PvP currently is. What I mean is like how people take HA and GvG seriously compared to something like JQ, where you can lob in, have fun, not have to worry about how many times you die (at least I dont ;) ) and if you lose it is no biggie. Yeah, people do find the competition of HA and GvG fun, but that isnt what I meant
