4 other unnamed classes?

Aside from the classes that have already been announced, is there any speculation on what the other 3 will be because the 4th will be Jedi.

    Currently it is speculated that another Sith Class will be Imperial Agent/Spy.

    Other than that, all bets are off really.

     I think that Bioware has in a way backed themselves into a corner, because we can speculate that the next 2 classes are Imperial Intelligence Agent for the Sith and Jedi for the Republic (Obviously these are absolute guesses, but so far we all seem to agree based on some of the information Bioware has displayed.). This leaves only 2 classes. If they plan to follow the MMO standard "melee DPS, ranged DPS, tank, and healer" system, then they are really stuck. If we consider the Jedi and Sith classes tanks, then the last two spots must be healers. Honestly, I can't think of anything other than SWG's Medic class for this category.

    Don't think this game is going to follow the "holy trinity" formula completely. I'm 99% sure there will not be healers in this game. Probably self heal abilities will be provided to each class.

     Hmm, that sounds workable, but they do focus on "teamwork" a lot in their videos, especially the Imperial ship walkthrough. This seemed to call for a healer class. But I see no reason why there absolutely has to be.

    It really depends on how long the cooldowns are on the heals. Another thing I should mention, perhaps tanks are VERY low dps, that have the ability to specialize in improved self healing and defense. In raid encounters I could see sith tanks taking turns tanking while the cooldowns reset. There is also CC, in the demonstration we seen the BH set the knight on fire, this rendered him unable to attack for a good three seconds. If it's anything close to this it would require a lot of team work, and awareness of your tanks status at all times.

    I remember reading that they've said their raids won't really be about killing one big boss.  They said there will be multiple enemies/sub-bosses that you will have to fight all at once.  I think that is how they are doing away with the healing class for SWTOR.  Everyone will basically be Tank/DPS or DPS.  Groups will basically be a free for all where everyone must hold their own in the raid or die.  So instead of spending 6 minutes trying to take down one boss you may spend 6 minutes fighting 150 adds and 6 sub-bosses.  If this really what their raids/dungeons will be like then I'm way more exited to see the people that are normally healers get down in the trenches with us and get their hands dirty, instead of standing in the back playing their fancy "click the yellow box game".

    I'm pretty sure I heard all classes will be able to self-heal. What I'd like to see are some pet classes. Droid pets would be awesome.

    Given the Companion System, it's basically confirmed that -every- class will have their choice of "pets" in a somewhat different system. ^^

    I was thinking some robot mechanic/builder type maybe?

    Regardless of healing, support classes rock. hell why not just play a droid!

    anything ewok is fine with me!

    If not a class, that would be a neat idea for a proffession. Build your own companions that have small stories, kinda like HK in KoTOR.

    I'm kind of turned off by the talk about no healer classes :(

    Some of the best times I've ever had in MMOs is being the party healer/buffer. I guess I'lljust be a tank then :(  or maybe a tank with lots of buffs ala Monks in DAoC :)

    As long as he calls me a meatbag I'm all for it.

    As for healing.. I'm wondering if they will have some type of support heal for certain classes... I mean it would only make sense... even in the battlefront games they had a class that allowed for healing.  Perhaps it would be a minor skill you would spec for...  I really don't see them leaving it out completely....

    It would be kinda interesting to play this MMO without a healer class per say, but if that does come true i hope were not trying to heal boss fights with "First Aid" or something.

    I wouldn't mind playing a game that just for once moved away from the old style class system. I've never been a big fan of healing classes because all they do is prolong fights and it never seemed realistic to have someone with the capability to just throw up their hands and poof the team is healed. Bounty Hunters,Troopers and Smugglers already make great support classes for the jedi/sith, who I imagine will act as the tanks.

    As to what might be left, ossibly spies and maybe  jedi/sith with more powers capability than lightsabers.

    Currently Playing: World of Warcraft

    My two cents if I may:

    While all the classes revealed so far appear different, they do have an asymetrical counterpart on the opposing team.

    With Jedi/Sith we have casters (yes I know they're warrior-monks, not wizards; just bear with me.)

    With the Trooper and Bounty Hunters we have an option for players that like to hurt things with heavy weapons although there is the possiblity that the Bounty Hunter is meant to be a "mirror image" of the Smuggler.  It is remotely possible, both classes represent independents who picked a side that best support their own interests.

    Smugglers come off as a more "duelist" kind of affair, flashy and flamboyent to the more mundane and utilitarian Trooper/Bounty Hunter.

    If the Bounty Hunter is the Smuggler's opposite, then the unannounced Empire class is possibly a Maladorian Warrior and could be a more melee-focused counterpart to the Trooper.  If the Smuggler's counterpart is still unannounced, then it's probably a spy/assassin who focuses on more cruel forms of "hitting below the belt."  While both are possible, I have to say I believe the second to be more likely.

    The final two I also believe are going to be support classes of some kind.  While it's unlikely they'll be slouches in combat (since no one else is,) what kind of support class would be appropriate for the Sith Empire (which seems to place a bigger emphasis on giving PCs more options to inflict horrific amounts of pain then the Republic) is something that's a little beyond me.  Healers feel a little too focused.  Tech-users might fill the niche but the authoritarian attitudes of the Empire would definitely turn off the more free-thinking sects of techies (who are are also usually the more creative ones in literature,) leaving the question of who would be on the Sith side....  Hmmm, "Splicer"/Scientist?  The former is a techie who's a bit of a trouble maker (like the Smuggler) but knows which side his bread is buttered on so he sides with the Republic while the latter is a scholar given free-reign (ignoring pesky ethical restraints) so long as he continues to produce results for the Empire?

    In thinking of star wars lore between all of the books as well as the KotR games has there ever been a hero or character that is really considered a healer. To the point of not having big boss fights that also seems to make sense in that in the books the only time a hero ever really fought the villain it usually boils down to a 1v1 good vs evil scenario but the majority of combat takes place between two large groups of enemys in some epic battle, or a small group taking on a large group of enemy's a'la 4 jedis against 400 stormtroopers lol.

    Lets see, we have Sith Warrior, BH, Smuggler and Republic Trooper.

    For Sith - > Jedi

    for Rep Trooper -> Sith Trooper or whats it called

    for Smuggler -> Imperial Agent

    for BH -> hm difficult to say, Officer?

    Just my guess. ;)

    Actually the Medistar series (if you can call two books a series) did revolve around a MASH unit in the Clone Wars and the plots they found themselves entangled in.  While it was largely a medical drama with most of the action happening in the operating room, there were other plots revolving around the herb bota; a wonder plant with medicinal properties that everyone wanted and no one wanted to share.

    But besides that, yes if we went by certain iconic characters there is a distinct lack of reoccuring healers.  Although granted if we went by iconic archetypes then nearly everyone has been covered already with the Jedi, Sith, Trooper, Smuggler, and Bounty Hunter classes.

    I think Mandalorians would have to be their own faction for it to make sense with the lore if I'm not mistaken.

    Also if anyone here plays the Star Wars d20 game the classes go as follows:

    Jedi                ---> Sith Warrior/Jedi

    Noble

    Scoundrel    ---> Smuggler

    Scout

    Soldier         ---> Trooper/Bounty Hunter

    These are just my thoughts on the equivalents to the d20 game and where the team might have developed their ideas from. Although I think the Smuggler would be more like a Scout than a Scoundrel and the Bounty Hunter seems more like a Soldier/Scout hybrid.

    There's always there chance they can add multi-classing or prestige classes.

    Just my two cents though guys.

    One of the Republic classes will be a jedi.. duh.  I just hope they make the jedi and sith have two completely different combat feels and not a clone of one another.  No pun intended.

    As far as the other classes...  It's up in the air.  I think a Mandalorian would be a good addition to the Republic to offset the Bounty Hunter.  Mandalorians and Sith don't get along remember?

    I'm just stoked they (and other MMO's) are moving away from the 'holy trinity' system. Its been a bane for quite some time I think, if I want to play with a group of friends I they shouldn't need to be specific archetypes or classes to play through content. A full group of troopers should, I think, have the same chance to complete content as any other combination of classes, it should just play differently based on the combination, but with the same end result.

    They have definitely confirmed trooper-bounty hunter, then you have sith warrior whose sounterpart will be jedi more than likely and smuggler who will have a counter part in the sith empire and I agree it would be something along the lines of spy.

    My guess for the 4th set would probably be a support class of some sort, something along the lines of an officer that gives buffs to the group and has some decent firepower. Maybe some heals but the fact they have shown missions completely play out without them means they won't be NEEDED and we won't be standing around twiddling our thumbs shouting 'Group LF Officer for last spot'

    I think status is closer to actually having the classes grouped. Bounty hunter is the trooper reverse if thats what I'm to understand from the info.  Not sure on what the smugglers reverse is yet. Interested to find out what the other classes are though.

    Thanks, it'll be interesting to see if they utilize classes similar to the d20 game as well. A noble or scout character may be a very interesting addition to a group. A Princess Leia or Chewbacca type character would play out in a very interesting way. If there are ever ships in the game a scout type class would be a great addition as they are generally very keen pilots.

    Sort of intresting, Jedi/Sith could easily be the tank class, in all situations but when its against multiple mobs (with blasters)  they will be DPS wont they?  Lore wise (not that im a lore nut) wouldnt a lightsaber slice do more damage then a blaster?
