ok so if u want a more standard mmo expirence go with Aion. Aion also will have more players due to being a fantasy game and those are more prefered. Fallen Earth is a well conceped game that has some cool features and envitorments and crafting. In my opinion Fallen Earths combat just  suks as they thuld not have followed the stupid enemy X spawns here and so do its 15 clones, Its a FPSMMO they shuld have had random incounters and qest baced encounyters.

Combat: Fallen Earth has stat-affected FPS combat with special moves while Aion has stat-affected auto-attack plus special moves.
Advancement: Fallen Earth is skill-based while Aion is class-based.
    Crafting: See previous postings.
Graphics: Fallen Earth has a much older graphics engine than Aion.
Setting: Fallen Earth is set in a post-apocolyptic, though loosely realistic Earth with normal people, normal animals, and many fantastic mutations thereof. Architecture and landscapes will be realistic but much more devastated than people are accustomed to seeing. Aion is set in a post-cataclysmic fantasy world with both normal-looking and fantasy-based humanoids, fantasy-based animals, and fantasy-based monsters/demons. Architecture and landsapes will also be based in fantasy.
Please be welcome to correct any inaccuracies. Thank you :-)

Aion doesn't have auto attack. You have to weave normal attacks in with abilities to do the most damage possible. Aion is level based advancement.

Let's not confuse terminology - "weave normal attacks in with abilities" means the same as "auto-attack plus special moves". To clarify here is a quote from Aion: PowerWiki - There are two types of attacks when engaging in combat. The first is your ability to continuously attack an opponent with the weapon, or weapons, you have equipped (which is commonly known as auto-attacking). This begins when right-clicking or double-clicking on the enemy.

Both games have level-based advancement systems. Class-based and skill-based means different things happen when you level up. Aion has class-based advancement which means the class you choose limits which skills will have access to as you advance. In Aion's case, you choose 1 of 4 first tier classes and  then 1 of 2 second tier classes (making 8 total class possibilities). FE has skill-based advancement which means that everyone can choose from the same pool of skills as they advance and presumably change their skills later on if they choose to.

  • Most of you guys are very off base in your facts and opinions.

I played closed beta and open beta Fallen Earth, and I also played Open Beta Aion.

For me, the nostalgia of the good old times I had with WoW before I quit 3 years ago,  and the potential for RvR and open world pvp encounters along with graphics my pc should be able to handle no problem I chose Aion.   I liked about as much as i disliked with Fallen Earth, its a sandbox first person shooter with MMORPG elements and has an interesting setting, but i just dont think they were ready to release with what they've got so far, in time Fallen Earth will be a great niche game that is very unlike WoW type games, and I'd love to try playing it again in a year or so.   I really thought that Fallen Earth pushing back their launch date to the same day as Aion was a mistake, and hopefully it won't suffer because of that.

Because Aion will draw eventually draw in the kiddie WoW crowd, if you choose your games purely on the quality of the community, I'd say try playing Fallen Earth, the game seems to cater to a certain type of community and you probably wont find as many annoying ppl.   But this could also just be due to the fact that Aion already has a larger community and the larger a community can bring in almost anything.   The Aion community so far seem to be made up of lots of WoW vets who left early on when WoW got invaded by junior high students and pre-schoolers.  I left WoW when I saw all the other good pplz leaving for much the same reason, Aion seems to be the WoW vets refuge as well as where all the PVPers are headed.

Hope this helps to anyone trying to find a new MMO to play this fall.

A couple things to make note of:

    1. Fallen Earth will (educated guess) have a much better and mature community.

    2. Fallen Earth can actually be immersive in a Role Playing setting.

    3. Fallen Earth is much larger, deeper, and most importantly different. If Aion is pop music, FE would be old school Metallica. I would go as far as to say its a post apoc Ultima Online.

    4. Fallen Earth is made by a small company, the game will mostly likely start off rough and in need of more polish. Graphics are not the main priority for this title, dont expect AAA title fixes right off the bat.

    5. Fallen Earth is not RVR, if you like PVP... FE is not quite set up for it... YET. It will probably evolve as people pvp, and the developers will make either good or bad changes & features to fit that.

    6. Aion will have a large population right off the bat. The maturity level of Aion will most likely be bad.

    7. Aion is image saturated, lots of flashy effects, overly exaggerated visuals, weapons, armor, world. If you dont mind the complete cartoon like asian exaggerated visuals, then you might like it.

    8. Aion features nothing really new, its essentially Lineage 2 with wings, give or take.

    9. Aion IS RVR, so if you like realm vs realm pvp, you can get what you like right off the bat.

Both games will target two completely different audiences, they both have their pros and cons. Personally i would go with Fallen Earth, but then again... I prefer more complex games, I dislike the asian inspired extreme street fighter effects on every single move and enemy. I do prefer RvR however when it comes to pvp. Aion wont go anywhere, its safe to come back to. My suggestion is, try out Fallen Earth, enjoy it... and if months later you feel its not for you for whatever reason. Aion will still be there, the same as before. You wont have missed anything, its what those kinds of games are like.
