This is one of the most under-hyped games.
The game is amazing, at least check out the website, and the forums to get an idea of what it is about!
The devs and GMs are actually IN GAME, you can send them private tells, they will come to your character, and do many things to assist you. They are incredibly helpful and in my 10 years of mmo gaming I have never met any better GMs, except maybe Everquest back in 99'.
So just check it out at least, give it a chance, ask questions!

YES! Check it out!

Uhmmm, thats a male cactus.
IDK, looks like it's confused as to what it is.
Taken just for this thread!
Had to brighten it up in photoshop though. It's night time in FE.
I could use a way better hat. But in this game, I'm not forced to so I can survive. So, I'm good for now!

I like the idea of a sandbox falloutesque style world but I've just heard the performance is too bad.
----ITS A TRAP!!!----
I for one would like it to remain under-hyped... that way those that like oversized swords will go to Aion and not bug me...
It's not.
The people that say so are either running a rig that was built in 2002 or have no idea how to maintain a gaming computer.
In any event, I agree with the OP, heck of a fun game.
The performance sucked in beta.....I was really suprised how much better it got. It's worth a shot.
Tried it and it was one of the worst games I have ever played, even if it was F2p it would still cost to much
Having beta'd this game, I can tell you that it's definitely a rough diamond.
The top issue I had with it was performance. Both a good client performance and a good ping are needed to play this game fully. So! wait a few months, and for an EU launch for EU players, if you want to play this game competitively would be my recomendation.
I'd hope all the delays they've had to release were to clean up the bad performance.
It's an interesting game concept, but for me it had no staying power.

As to it remaining under-hyped, well that is a recipe for bad things.
The 2 weeks between Beta and Pre-Launch they cleaned it up quite a bit. In the week since it's been in Pre-Launch it's been cleaned up even more.
It's not completely polished yet, but it's definitaly getting there.

Performance aside, posting screenshots of this game is not going to help it. Sorry, but the overall graphics was about the worst that I've seen in about 5 years. Just look at the scrubs and how square the circles are. The first time that I ran into a broken down truck with square tires I knew that it wasn't going to be good to look at for the remainder of the game.
Just my opinion of course but I just couldn't handle how badly it looked. Again, performance aside.
This sentence is false.
Hmm, I wonder if there is a thread about all the nifty/cool things in Fallen Earth...
Graphics aside, the crabs rock.
The problem, as I see it, is that they went for a "Realistic" look . I think they should have went a bit more stylized.
Sorry, this is completely off-topic (sorry OP) but your signature just completely blew my mind.
I tried it and immediatly cancelled my Aion CE. FE is something new instead of the same ol thing with wings. Yes, I played Aion beta. Nothing wrong with it, hell I was going to buy it. But seriously, its all been done before. People bitch and moan about wanting something new and then bitch and moan about it when it shows up. I like how the worst SC I have up is used as an example. Sorry its not all pink and purpley. These are better IMO
Honestly tho the graphics aren't what I play the game for, but they aren't as bad as some say they are. Plenty of posts on that already tho so I am not going there cept to say that gameplay is what I spend money on.
I don't know about anyone else, but I think the graphics actually makes the apocalyptic atmosphere work.
Don't like it at all. I bought it and each time I try to play, I ask myself "why am I doing this?"
The graphics are extremely poor, the performance is subpar* (lots of little freezes even when only in the tutorial area)...as for the defense of it being because I have a poor rig, I do not.
Haven't quite figured out what it's doing that's so "new" as many of the defenders have called it, but irregardless, the game is what it is...bad.
*Actually, to describe what I mean...the other day, I logged in (was right out of the tutorial area..some town. can't recall the name). Anyways, out of pure curiosity, I wandered around (not too far, mind you) and came across some guy killing random hostile humanoids. Tried to do the same, but every time I shot my nail gun, both arms would swing wildly up and down like the animation was choking on itself. As a result, I died because whatever I was experiencing (lag, graphic stutter, etc) was prohibiting my attacks from occuring.
I thought, "Ok, lag spike". But I saw the other guy killing the guys fine and the animations...it didn't even seem fluid..seemed like maybe a sequence of 3 or 4 sprites cycling to create the image of animation. Just seems like a really poor engine with zero graphic merit.
I would love to try the game out at launch with everyone. 50 bucks is just too much to fork out for a game that I might not even enjoy 10 hours of. Are there any beta previews left, or something similar?
Hmm, can't say many defend it because it is groundbreaking.
I think many people just want a post-apoc game, and this is the only option, so they sell themselves on it.
Sort of like FFA-PvPrs selling themselves on Darkfall.
this right here.
Of course im a firm believer that gameplay makes a game before graphics do. Eye candy simply makes it better lol. For the setting they are going for in Fallen Earth the graphics do very well i think. its one of the new ones out im planning on trying out . tryin champions now while i wait for FE. and FE until FF14 whenever that is. im bound to find somethin to hold me over.
Waiting For: FF14,Guild Wars2
RIP: Tabula Rasa&Hellgate:London(online)
Playing:Fallen Earth&Guild Wars& Dragon Age
I played the minute servers went up on Pre-Launch in the most populated city. I'm talking about close to 25,000 players across 15 cities or so and I was in Zanesville. I was running 120fps in the city. Getting a chance to do my quests was another story, but performance hasn't ever been an issue for me and I run at absolute max settings in Windows mode.
I have: i7 920, GTX 280, 6gb DDR3, Vista Ultimate, Dual Screen setup. Nothing is overclocked (yet, lol)
Anyone who's running under 8800 and less than a high end dual core, isn't going to be able to play.

Fixed.
Not sure who said it was doing anything new. I've specifically stated in a number of threads that it's a throwback to early SWG. If you're freezing in the tutorial it is most certainly your box, or maybe your connection. I have an average rig that I built in 2007 and it has yet to drop below 30fps.
There are currently some lag issues around the newb towns, which I imagine is one reason they pushed back the release date and gradually started letting the head-start people in.
I love how people assume that because their machine runs it like crap that everyone else's does too. Clearly not the case, lol.
You hit the nail on the mark. I was thinking along the same things. So disappointing that the FIRST post-apoc MMO is so horrible.
Hopefully, this won't be the last one.
LOL best laugh I got all day.
Aside from the overly happy cactus, fallenearth *was* worth checking out if you wanted something other than your typical fantasy rpg. I started playing 2 days before OB ended.. so I didn't get much time to play it, but in that short time it was really starting to grow on me.
It is too bad they are going with p2p, that decision may be the death of them. For a FREE game it would of been great, but to have to pay monthly it doesn't really offer up enough to make it worth-while.
