After playing beta, how many are actually keeping their pre-orders?

C0MAC0MA Member Posts: 522

I think the title pretty much says it all.

I'm just curious with all the talk of 400k sold. How many of these were because people wanted to try the beta and now that they did, how many of those 400k are ready to play at launch?

Yes, I'm one that will play. For me it brought a solid gaming experience in a very balanced environment from a company who has shown with their progress that they are taking this product very seriously But this isn't about me I was just curious as to how many of you i'll be playing with!

Got to keep the positive balanced =)

Nice color change you decided to go with Tailz.  Least no one will have to try and find where their eyeballs exploded to anymore. Much easier on the 'ole peepers.

Playing in the cb is the only reason I even ended up getting into this game because beforehand I wasn't slightly interested.  So I guess you can say i'll be keeping mine.

    1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.

    2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.

    3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.

    I'm not keeping it.

I only paid the 5$ for beta access, found game lacking.

Nice, what server have you decided on? And although I enjoy using the pink text I think the blue goes better with the sig I made.

I played some of the CB's as a templar, since i'm used to be tank in mmo's

however the leveling i found rather dull and boring after a while so then i decided to cancel my pre-order.

but in the end, i bought Aion 2 days ago in my local gamestore lolz, only i will play sorcerer and not a melee class

currently waiting till tonight so i can spend an hour or so making my character.

Luckily the 400,000 pre-orers are the paid in full customers so we dont lose anyone in you not playing. Theres also another thread for people to post hat they will not as this one is for the players who will play. Sorry you didn't enjoy your beta experience and good luck in your future endeavors.

I haven't decided a specific one yet although considering where I live it'll be one of the ones deemed West coast.

I'm curious, how many of the people "cancelling" their pre-orders had it planned that way when they placed their order. Sounds like most of them only pre-ordered so they could play the game for $5 in BETA and had no intention of ever paying for the actual game.

(DISCLAIMER - The use of the word YOU in the above post is not directed at any one person in particular, but towards those who fall into the category itself - there is no personal attack here, neither intentional nor implied.)

Seems to be the new trend.  I can't say I blame them though.  Easy way to get in to try the game out to decide whether they would like it or not in the long run.

playing a level capped beta with beta issues such as server load testing is hardly the best  way to see if a game is for you  or not, i mean if you hate getting to the level cap during smooth running periods i guess the game might not be for you, but if you found it ok or couldnt even play because of the load testing where they had to fine tune the servers to achieve acceptable performance you missed out on the potential of the pvp and no one but a few testers has any idea what exactly the last half of the game plays like (levels 25-50)

Played since chinese obt and loved it every step of the way.  I am not a fan of questing to level in the least bit but the quests are tolerable,  PvE is challenging and fun. Last  preview I made a Templar (tank) and found the tank class in Aion to be very refreshing.  I have gotten 3 toons over 20 and into world pvp (didn't quite make it to the abyss) and had entirely too much fun (no really, I stayed up too late and went strait to work from playing all weekend haha).  So yes I'll be keeping it.  Looking forward to actually experiencing the abyss and smashing some more faces.

I bought my pre-order AFTER playing OB.  This game has a lot of potential, and if realized to the fullest, this can be a viable game for years to come.

I played beta and I've got my money set on the Collector's Edition. It's so nice to see a flashy combat system, it's been extremely long overdue where MMOs have gone without fluid and flashy combat animations in my opinion. So now I'm not just killing mobs.... I'm killing mobs in STYLE! :D

I'll be playing on the most populated server, which is looking like it's going to be Siel.

About all the potential this game is gonna have has all ready been realized in what you've played. We aren't getting new content here with the release of this, it's on a time lapse due to localization. It is what it will be basically.

I preordered it and will not be playing Aion. It's like Eve for me. Solid game and does what it's intended for very well, just not my preference in style. Granted no MMO has really mustered my preferences particularly effectively yet. Too shallow of tactics in too simple/slow of game play. >_<

I'm still waiting for someone to strike upon the mythical MMOFPS/RTS and get it right...
