Terrorists in my backyard? WTF!

Ok, this happened yesterday, but not sure if you folks heard about it yet.

So, I'm at work and its about 3 ~o'clock, one of my fellow co-worker ladies comes in and starts screaming: "oh my god the FBI caught some terrorists building bombs in my apartment complex!!!"  FEDS everywhere, police everywhere, and her kids were quarrantined at school and was not allowed home.

I'm thinking like WTF, now its gonna be 9/11 in my BACKYARD!!!  It all makes sense though.  Buckley Air Force Base, Denver TECH center, communications center for all joint military ops etc... you get the idea of this high profile area in the MIDDLE of the US.  Wow what a possible target?  I went home and talked to my dad about it and everything lines up.  This is some serious shit.

I work less than a mile from that apartment complex, and live about 1.5 from it as well.  It's really nerve racking.

Wow, do we live in a very interesting time.  WAR is everywhere.  Cover and watch your back, you don't know who is gonna blow some shit up next, and where.

~Take care.  SoulSurfer

Wow...scary stuff.   Glad someone was ontop of it and they were caught.   ^_^

I saw it on the news. They confiscated everything in the apartment.  His lawyer is saying he is innocent.  Funny, they found a bag full of cell phones.  Isnt that a SOP for terrorists?

The real question is, have you been to this hotel? Hmmm? What's going on around there?

Okaaaaay.  No trip to Denver this year.

But if i don't go does that mean that the terrorist win?

....  but what if I did want to go but changed my mind later...  now do i even have a choice even in the matter?   It's genious...  there is no other option but a Denver get away this year or letting Osama win.

Yah, there is a bar that is across the street from this apartment complex.  I may have bought this guy some beers when I was really hammered, (and didn't even realize it due to blacking out)... because I drink there often after work, and am pretty generous when it comes to buying drinks for people. XD

    Yea,  me too.

We should hang out,   it wont be creepy at all dude,  I promise.

Only have one rule,  No Politics or Religion when you're bellied up at the bar.   Things tend to get nasty when that standard is ignored.

Was the terrorist Muslim? Otherwise I'm pretty sure you wouldn't see him at a bar.

Yeah, my auntie lives in Littleton, (thats a sub-city within Denver) - that was famous for the Columbine massacre.  Yeah they did create southpark too lol.... Remember the movie, Charlie and the Chocolate factory? Remember that kid who was from Colorado, (the really violent video gamer kid) looooooooooooool....... where Johnny Depp had to lay the smack down on him?

As for the dude who brought up if he was muslim.... good point.... I prolly didn't run into him at that bar, but hey, I am gratefull for that. =P

and the other dude, yeah, I don't like to talk about religion/politics at the bar.  I'm usually bitching about sports, or getting /rolleyes from chics who think my pickup lines are lame.  heh... happy hour here I come!!!

YOU SEE  all of us could get along much better with a Fat Tire....  Or even a Sam Adams in hand and discuss what really matters.

    COWBOYS/GIANTS!!!!!

Will Romo's new TO-less distracted OFF give the Giants (no idea who the D cap is,  please fill free to inform me anyone) fits or will Eli and crew laugh there way to an easy win?

And yea,  im a cowboy fan,  but even i'll admit they havent had a great QB since what?  the 80's?

    Aikman was good,  not great.

And as much as everyone is hating on those damned Pat's.  Trailing througout the game to come back at the end is just how Brady does it baby.  Unless its a manning,  they dont take that "we can't keep up,  spare us".....  till the last minute when your secondary is exhausted and brady and Freak of Nature Moss play a game of catch.

**okay,  i work nights and my am and pm atm are switched.  So I've thought you said you didn't ask em,   anyways,  my point was that even if the bastard (though polygamy is a religous stand in many countrys) was wearing a turban or one of those hindu jewel thingies,  at the bar that shit shouldn't matter.

Now if he refuses to wear deodorant in the name of God, that is a different story completely and should raise red flags of ultra conservatism from whatever version of God they choose to find their salvation from.  Like Georgie Pourgie said though,   its all the same,  only the details change.  Jew,  Muslim,  Christian....  well,  those hindu and buddah guys really,  really stretch that IMO.

I hope Romo gets sacked hard.  A LOT.  I watched New England's opener VS the bills, and I can say Brady seems a little fragile.  Knee brace and all, I think his confidence isn't what it used to be, and it will be interesting to see how long he will hold up.  Because, we know every defensive player is gonna aim for that knee and try to take him out, while making it look legit.

Check this out:  The next morning I'm taking a shower and the DJ on the radio tells a funny story about the guy who blew it for the Bills... I forgot his name, but anyways, some disgruntled fans knew where he lived.  So, they go to his house in early hours of the AM and paint on his lawn the score 24-25 (I think that was the score) with a giant Penis and Testicles next to the score. LOL

poor guy,....reminds me of Leon Lett. =P

Man, to me cowboys fans are the best to stir up!!!

Ok, this is the latest news to come out early this morning.

    www.denverpost.com/

To all you sports people who like to go to games:

The anonymous reports continued Saturday, with ABC News saying that law enforcement officials told it that Zazi's computer showed he had researched baseball and football stadiums and sites used in the recent Fashion Week event in New York City.

The U.S. Department of Justice announced early today that Najibullah Zazi, 24, and his father, Mohammed, 53, have been charged with willfully and knowingly making false statements to the FBI in a matter involving international and domestic terrorism.

btw. the Giants stomped the Cowboys tonight. =P

My friend works in that building in Dallas.. I am glad the feds got this guy in time.. but what about the guy who is smarter than to join some radical internet  terrorist group? That was how they caught this one.. but what about the next guy?

well, if someone does want to commit terror, he could do it anywhere. if he is good, then you might not expect that person at all... all we can do is to be alert and careful to this stuff

Well we can be more aware of our neighbors, The way things used to be. Have a sense of community, talk to those who live around you, get to know your neighbors. Be aware of your surroundings, alert to things that are out of place.  Crack down on illegal immigration to make it harder for people to sneak into our countr. The man who was trying to set off a weapon of mass destruction in Dallas was an Illegal immigrant. Our borders are entirely too unsecure.

It is usually the little things that people do that make the difference. The person that notices something out of place, notices suspicious persons that are able to intervene in matters like this. In order to do that, you have to know what to look for. Taking a Crime watch class, could help people become more alert to what they should be looking for.

Though it is not just " bombs " we have to think about here, we must strengthed our defenses,  because for the longest time our location has shielded the US from the types of terrorism and attacks that the rest of the world has been enduring for some time due to our location. The world has become a much smaller place now, they can reach us now, and we should be prepared for this.

Now, this is in no way saying that people need to walk around being paranoid, no they need to be aware of their surroundings, educated as to what to look out for, and prepared to act if necessary. People need to be curious, take things seriously, and get out of the menatlity that it cannot happen to them.. because the truth is it can, and does.

Dallas Bomb Suspect in Court Today

Undercover agents posing as members of an al-Qaida sleeper cell were introduced to him and they said he made clear his intention to serve as a soldier for Osama Bin Ladin and al-Qaida. He told them he came to the country specifically to commit violent Jihad "for the sake of God."

The agents meeting with Smadi said they tried to discourage him from violence on several occasions, the release states.

According to the arrest warrant affidavit, Smadi said in his native Arabic language, "Oh my brothers! O how I love, my brothers, to perform Jihad with you in the same rank, in the same field, against the enemy. I have chosen to be a Mujahid with my self, blood, soul and body. [That is] more precious to me than this world and its money, women and amusements. By God, I shall support Osama, Abu Mus'ab al-Zarqawi, al-Rantisi and all who performed Jihad in this world."

But yet of course his dad says he didn't do it!
