EU Preorder, Will I get Head-Start?

Hello. I have a question regarding UK pre-orders and the bonus items/head start. Please don't hurt me!

Okay, now that's out of the way: If I pre-order from a shop (say play.com or Game), will I still get into the head start?

I ask because I am going away for a few days on the 25th, and if I can't get into the head start because I left it too late, I'll wait until I come back. However, if I can still get in, I'll pre-order now, so I at least have a few days play

So does anyone know? I mean, I could pre-order from NCSoft Europe, but it's £5 more, and you don't get a box or anything (not that I want one especially, but I don't fancy paying more and getting less!). If anyone can give me a definite (or even an almost definite) answer I'll go for it.

You need a serial key, so when you preorder the game, you're actually ordering the box with the key and waiting for the servers to open up. But yeah, I'm not sure if you can join the headstart if you insert your key after the headstart has started.

If you pre order it from NCsoft I think so, I did yesterday and I got in... If you order it after the headstart, Then I believe youcant.... but I heard someone say that if you get the box from the store... the key for open beta will allow you headstart and will shut down after 25(EU) or 22(US) unless you put the key in.

Thanks for the info.

I worked it out, and it's actually the 20th I'm going away, so no point pre-ordering (other than for the bonus items, but I'm not bothered about those). I'll wait until I come back to get it.

I was getting my dates mixed up - I don't go away until next weekend!

I've pre ordered direct from NCSoft - I was going to go with play.com, but I noticed it mentions nothing of the pre order bonus items.

ouch, lol, i was going to say the best way of knowing if you were in headstart or not, is whether it says "preorder" or "beta" in your game account.

yeah you get nothing with play.com, bonus items wise... neither with gameplay. Europeans tend to lack the wealth of american offers unless you buy the CE. (not that it bothers me, we can preorder for free.. and try out beta's and stuff then cancel our order if it isn't for us)

thank goodness for play.com, it's why i'm playing Unchartered 2's multiplayer until Aion goes live

you're fine, although if you aren't going to play from the off, i'd hold off... Champions Online went from £30 in preorder to under £20 when released - with play.com.

I know, I pre ordered Champions Online, which is why I'm here

I might go back to it in a few months time.

Good news on the Aion pre order though, thanks for the info!

Like I said above, I had got my dates mixed up - don't go away until the 28th, which gives me a full week in the head start, and I'll miss a couple of days of the official opening.
