what do you mean? I didnt think there was any financial data released that indicated it was a total failure. Albeit, I do wonder how many subs will be retained after initial month. I had initially expected it to be in 100k subscriber range. But with all the unpopular patches I'm not sure. But I'm not going to guess either
If you say so, considering the game seemed to be more packed than ever yesterday 100 instances of MC with 80-100 players. I don't recall anyone in my SG quiting while in AoC i saw plenty of players in first 2 weeks. FYI AC2, TR and God and Heroes are considered to be the biggest flops all of them had bigger budgets than CO. Unless things don't turn around WAR and AoC will become biggest flops ever both cost close to 100 million.
As for game it sold about 200k, it finished first in PC sales last week and 2nd this week.

Not bad at all. Yeah the PVE instances have been full and its easy at all times to get into UTC cage matches
From what I know of the data, they have a very robust userbase, they are actually a bit higher than forecast. I do agree that many players will leave after the first month, but this is not abnormal. The real measure of sucess will be to see how they are doing in 3 months.

Given the xfire data and just looking at numbers online I'd say the game has 100-150k subs. So far it appears to be growing. However I'm expecting it will drop off fast in a month or two due to lacking content and the short time to reach max level.

Will get maybe if were lucky a week's worth of content with that patch, Yippe...... Most MMO's when they come out give the average player a couple months worth of content, right now Champions Online barely gives you 2-3 weeks worth of content.

Did you unlock all the perks, costume pieces, finish all the quests/PQs/instances?
Troll much? I've been a pretty strong critic of this game in other threats, but give me a break. This game has been a top seller for weeks. Despite the numerous flaws with this game, one thing for sure is that it's very playable with very few bugs. That's something WW2 Online never was, even months after it's release.
World War 2 Online. Was a great concept, but developed by a smaller company which hindered it a bit. Not to mention the fact that it was RELEASED in 2001, so the tech was kinda limited for the scope of what they wanted to do.

While I do enjoy the game, I'm not sure I'd call perks content. I mean, half of them are "Kill xxxx mob", or "Do xxxx damage" - These things should come naturally while playing through content, not be considered content themselves. Aside from the bugged quests, my lvl 38 actually has finished all the missions, and visited every PQ available XD. As for instances, I've done all of them except the ones from Lemuria, and that's only because the rubberbanding swim lag just gets on my nerves.
I'm going to give the game until their big content patch in October to decide if I stay or not, but as it stands, the game is really light on content.
If it remains light on content, I expect that people will come and go as things get added. It's good enough that it's fun to play and different enough that you don't mind doing things a few times.
I can see a fair number of subs who are on two-three months, off two-three months.
I doubt that there will be massive content added in October, but then again, considering what they have been able to to in the past couple weeks; anything is possible.
If I get out my troll translator, I come up with:
"This is not my game of choice, thus it's a failure."
Did you unlock all the perks, costume pieces, finish all the quests/PQs/instances?
Perks is not content, and technically it's impossible unless you get every single type of damage to get all perks in game. some are missable so ya.
But i have a level 36, and 4 level 20+ chars, the other peoople i play with are in same boat. There's a serious lack of content, but regardless i'll still give it time to grow (not like there's much else out there to play). Aion is okay, but not something i'd play more then a couple hours a week, i played beta and was getting bored after 1h of playing it. Tried Fallen Earth, same issue lack of content at least when i played beta (i'll wait a couple month for that one).
But i figure this and Aion and other RPG/FPs comming out in next several months will keep me busy until something else comes out.

So you have gotten 126 levels total in a couple of weeks? In a few more you'll have some maxed out characters unless you have to grind to the top, which I hear you do. Regardless it won't be long before you are maxed out and bored.
Companies have got to stop making it so qwuick to level in these games, its shooting themselves in the foot. When they charge a mointhly fee and they want to you to play for many many months what sense does it make to allow people to level so quickly? I realize most people think they want to get to end game quickly because that is where the "real game" starts but that mentality is killing the genre.
Anyway my point is, as long as games are released that let you hit max level in the first month there will not be a block buster success. developers will never be able to update content fast enough to keep a large player base satisfied and playing. Until a game out that is enjoyable to level, is somewhat challenging, and takes a 6-9 months to max out for the average player we will continue to see midly successful games9at best).

2-3 weeks worth of content if you're a lifeless loser living in your parents basement.
For those of us with lives, and jobs, and varied interests, there is more than enough content, with plenty more to come.
The game isn't going to cater to a few hardcore whiners, and I'm just fine with that.
I enjoyed Champions and believe it has tremendous potential. Right now however finding groups and thereby friends and super groups still follows the same old barking over zone based chat. Which I find is not conducive to achieving any of those goals anymore.
I think MMO designers really need to rethink the mechanisms currently in place to get players actually working together and building communities together after that.
And yet WWIIOL is still around, pumping out patches and new content and a new graphics engine. Triple A titles such as Tabula Rasa and Auto Assault were flops....

Judging from all the other posts you've made about Champions and that beautiful Aion vs. Champions thread you started I have this to say:
KEEP TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' YEAH!!!!
