You can get a refund on AION !!!!!!!

ViscVisc Member Posts: 89

If you preordered AION from Gamestop you can get a refund. Called the corporate office and the store I bought it from to confirm. They wouldn't give a refund on preorder until after the game was released.

    Why would you?

Let's be honest, anyone who preordered Aion had ample opportunity to see reports of Aion from overseas, see aion in betas in NA and read plenty of reviews.

To enquire about a  refund now ... 1 day before release? ...Seems silly, or someone doesnt understand how MMOs work

you can't use the cd-key etc then, else that copy wont be resold...

Maybe some people pre ordered beleiving the hype and realized they didn t like it? Maybe they didn t have time to play much? I can see it, luckily I saw all i needed to see during CB to cancel ahead of release.

Why would you want to get a refund... It's a good game and its what they told you it was... nothing wrong with it and i like how they are not opening more servers like WAR did and then theres no population to keep them going

That's exactly how I see it. I wager most players could tell if they will stick with this game after 2 days of playing ...CB and OB gave many player's that opportunity. IN the end the players themselves need to do some work before they plunk down $50,  doing so for any game sight unseen..... "Buyer Beware"

I just called the store and told them to cancel my order. Was that simple. Got my money back same day no fuss.

My reason simply was Games great, the best combination of all the best mmorpg attributes put into 1 game. Simply perfect for today's standards. However I was some what looking for a revolutionary mmorpg that changed the way you play them. Aion is not it. Its a  a good game by today's standards but when I found out FFXIV would base leveling on what kind of weapon you used and how much you used it, then I saw the real time combat ala phantasy star, I was sold.

There's lots of people who will want to cancel their pre order, I know of  3 for sure, and 1 who might. Id say its possible, but it maybe a bit tough for some people.

Is this an attempt for you to advertise your links for game reviews????

I know right, some people run head first into a new mmorpg without knowing anything about it then QQ when they don’t like it

No QQ going on just posted a simple bit of info for those who might need it. If i was going to QQ I would be in the AION section.

My money, my decision, it's as simple as that. If you don't like that....move on.

I just put my $5 down to pre-order in the store. Sadly, I am just going to "forget" to pick the game up tomorrow. I am out $5 and honestly I do not care.

I was on the fence about the game and while I wasn't expecting the greatest thing ever, I was expecting the game to be good. And it is. Is has some very redeeming qualities - cool classes, great lore, runs well, etc...

However, there are things I wasn't sure about like player runs shops, linear aspect, NCSOft's ability to control bots and farmers.

So yeah, I was on the fence but hey, I am bored and been looking for something to play and Aion seemed like a good game. I enjoyed it in the beta test weekends and I missed open beta because my wife and I moved.

Well that brings me to the head start weekend. I got my characters created and life is good. My guild is only Triniel and is one of the largest and oldest MMO guilds around. We were very excited about the head start - which, by the way, is part of pre-order process (don't believe me, check the ads for it).

Sunday gets here and I go to login and BAM......queue. It started at about 2 hours or so and around 2500+ people. I am thinking "No worries - go watch the game and come back when its over". Come back, the queue is about 2100 people and now over 5+ hours. So I go get started on dinner and come back and the queue is now at about 2000 people and 6+ hours.

So I get home tonight and login and the queue is 2400+ people and over 3 hours. So at this point, I am out a head start and out any chance to play this game. Sure, I could choose some random server without a queue but what's the point in that.

At that point, I am done. I was already on the fence and the queue's pushed me over it. I still think the game is worthy and could be fun but this whole mess has eroded my belief in the game and in NCSoft. I have chosen not to play and to speak with my money. I will take that $50 and go buy something else and play it instead.

The saddest part of this is two-fold. First and foremost, this is a head start and not even a launch. I dread to see what tomorrow brings for the game and the servers and I wish all of you who are sticking with the game the best and a lot of patience.

The second saddest part is that the community on these forums rather call you name's and insult you than offer any little bit of sympathy or support when it comes to the queues and Aion. Everyone who can't get in is a "whiner" and everyone who can doesn't care because they got to play. They refuse to see it from the point of view of someone who waited 6 hours in a queue.

I have said my piece...I am moving on now. Good luck to all and enjoy Aion.

lol How many times have you said this piece, and you have still yet to move on.

You waited 6 hours by your own damn choice.  The fault was your own.  Get over it.

Ah just like I figured...."my fault".

And you didn't even read a word I wrote.

    Point made.

    Still not moving on? lol

There are servers that are not full.  You choose not to play on them.  Your fault.

Well then maybe you should spend your money more wisely, no one actually forced you to buy it.

and still the Aion fanboi's show why alot of ppl choose not to play....why play when the aionites are more juvenile and fucktarded than the wow kids.

I canceled after cb3 by calling my cc company and disputing the charges, gave the csr the link to the posts by devs saying you can choose to pvp or pve and showed how that's not possible without pvprape pk'ers.  got my cash back in a heartbeat.

I wouldn't call them names. But they are a touchy bunch of folks.

Lag? I thought the game was lag-free. That was supposed to be a big plus for the game.

    General question:

I have never joined an MMO with a guild. Wouldn't the wise thing be to choose a server at launch, so you can scout around to find one suitable?

there are lag spikes every now and again (only like three in the 12 hours I have played)

I joined a guild a couple weeks before the release of Aion and everyone has gotten in fine (56 members)
