    Is ROM truely free for you...or will you end up paying ~15/month on cash shops?

    Aion is a solid game. Best thing to do for anyone on the bubble is wait for the dust to settle in 2 weeks and see what is revealed

    Try Requiem: Bloodymare if you want the free version of Aion.

    RoM = WoW free version

    Requiem = Aion free version

    But either way, you will end up paying at the end if you want to raid/PvP.

    Get a life you freaking Gamer.....no no, you don't understand, I'm a Gamer, I have many lives!!

    Personally i wont play a F2P MMO as my main MMO just because i probably have to pay the same as a sub (or more) to be competitive.

    My main MMO is P2P but I do LOVE F2P MMO as second or third MMOs because i certainly would NOT get my money worth subbing to a second MMO.

    So  F2P is perfect to play a little over the weekend or whenever i want a change from my main. And since I dont need to be competitive, the spending can be quite quite low.

    Currently I am playing DDO as my second MMO and it is great.

    I will use WoW as an example to show you the way RoM is free.

    If in WoW you were the type of player that was happy questing and leveling not really looking forward to much to end game you may enjoy RoM. If in WoW you were happy with your Good blues and "Reputation" Epics and you didn't care to much for PvP Epic gear or Raid Epic gear quality then you will be very happy in RoM playing for free. That is the equivalent gear you can get for free in RoM Blues. To get the "Epics" You need to pay a lot, more than 15/mo. Most players who reached 50/50 a few months back spent between 50-100 Dollars once they reached that level just to upgrade their gear in order to do the hardest raids.

    Requiem is a good game, I managed to get level 35 or so before the grind got to me. The thing about Requiem is its just another P2P game. If you actually play it for free you will end up grinding weeks for a single level at the 50s. That is unless you have a ton of time to play if so then go for it. RoM is better for people with less time to play, and it can be free if you don't care to get past "blues" quality gear.

    If you have the time, and the money Aion would be a much better choice than any free 2 play mmorpg on the market.

    Aion and RoM are pretty generic. I'd recommend you try Dungeons and Dragons Online as its probably the highest quality free to play mmo right now.

    I only played aion for about a day, but in that time I saw a few things that really turned me off

    >Money sinks everywhere, like serious moolah just to make a resurrection point

    >Even with the character customization, all of the characters still look similar (very asian inspired)

    >by far the worst thing I saw that scares me from any mmo, "Kill x amount of this mob" quests everywhere

    >pretty boring combat

    In my opinion if you have the money go for Aion, much better service, everyone's on fair ground, really polished and in my opinion quite immersive aswell.
