possible to download ?

i was wondering if it is possible to order the game online but not get the cd's. i know some games you pay full price and they email you or give u a download link to download the game so you dont have to wait for the game. i am only asking this because everywhere seems to be sold out of the game. if someone could let me know that would be great.

No, I dont believe you can do that atm. Pretty much its, pick up at the store and do it like that. Besides, with the way they have patches installed into the game through a bit-torrent like style aplication, ( which is only a few megs when patched ) that takes hours for people to install? It would take you a month to install the game if you were to download through some "Blizzard installer" I tell you no lies!

I went to my local Gamestop where i bought the game about 2 weeks ago, and they were completely sold out!

Heh been sold out here for a long time too.. Ive heard from different news from different stores, like "We're not getting a shipment till Febuary", "Blizzard isn't distributing new copies becuz their servers are overloaded", n "Blizz is waiting for new copies to be made.." So, no straight answers, no way to download, n most importantly, NO WoW >.<

Not trying to be an ass, but holy shit! You bought the game two weeks ago and have played 336 hours? That's 72 hours of work/meals/sleep/shower in a 2 week period. You are truly hardcore and I envy you.

Most of the MMO companies normally wait a few months before allowing people to buy and download the client from the official website. At the moment Blizzard hasn't added this option for buying World of Warcraft, then again Blizzard may be different and not take this option. We will just have to wait and see what happen in the coming months.

Yes you will be able to download the client and buy it online.
How do I know that ? Well I asked WoW Tech Support Europe,because
I currently have preordered the french version,simply because here no
English retailer ships copies.So i asked them will i be able to switch the
language of the client(aka Guild Wars)(also this was said to be possible by
the french community manager,I even have a screenshot of his post).But
the answer was I must either buy the english version or download the client
from the website.I think i still have the mail ....
