I think you're doing it backwards. Generally speaking its the sandbox type MMORPGs you want to make your primary, with a themepark MMORPG your secondary. The former is going to require a greater commitment where-as the latter you can easily log onto, buy a ticket for a ride (quest giver), do a quick ride (quest), and log out.

The only way you'd want a sandbox/hardcore MMORPG your secondary is if your primary MMO is even more hardcore. If that's the case I salute you - as you're a far more dedicated gamer than most to juggle 2 sandbox MMOs.

I'm afraid I'm not familiar enough with that game to advise you one way or the other. Hopefully someone else who has played both Ryzom and FE OB will be able to help you.

I dont see why you would not be able to treat FE as a casual game.  You can certainly log in and do a quick part of a faction quest or run a little pvp, crafting can be done off line so as long as you scav the parts up you can craft offline.

I dont know its a sandbox so it will take longer at casual play to max. Thats not a bad thing though, savor and enjoy the game.

Cross Ryzom with SWG and put it in a post-apoc world and you have FE. At least that's my opinion, I haven't heard anyone else say that, but I also don't think alot of people of played Ryzom.

I didn't play long, but I tried it and I didn't like the way the did the fantasy scifi theme, good game though. I'm kinda picky about the fantasy scifi themes, it's my favorite type of world... even over post-apoc.

As far as casual play, I think that FE would be great for it. Really, I guess it depends on your clan. In the clan sense, it's pretty much like EVE.... you kinda need a clan to really have fun. Not a necessity, and you don't need one as bad as EVE in that sense, but it really does help ALOT.

To me a casual game is Aion, its linier easy to follow push some buttons here and there , crafting is easay to figure out and there tutorial is good, it is the personification of casual,  FE is a little more thinking involved, skill system much more complex then lvl sysstem, tutorial is vague and mysterious, quest system does not hold your hand (well a little) .  Aion=easy thought, FE=moderate thought

    To the OP and eddieg50.

This is exactly what I am doing right now.

    FE - Primary

    Aion - Secondary

    CO - Secondary

Whats good about my choices are, all 3 titles are new and have nothing in common expect for being a mmo.

Sooner or later, one of the Secondarys got to go. Lets just say I am a compulsive MMO shopper and all 3 mmorpgs were released in 1 month.

However FE is still my favorite out of the 3 titles since it requires more time to play and find it more challenging than the theme park mmo's.

After reading ed's take I have to retract what I said. He's right FE takes more time to think it through. Example Your a Vista sniper with a scope going into a pvp town. Easy right? Your a sniper, damage add and Major killer..wrong. Your tanks might go down your support might be limited. The shooters are always 2nd tanks and emergency medical personal. You have to be able to dual wield your combat knives and know how to counter radiation poisoning.

It seems every time I do something in FE its becomes complex and I have to multi task heavily. It takes attention and your team will need you to do it.

I agree with you that you have to think about what you are doing in FE. You also have to work for what you get. I'm not complaining about that at all , in fact that is one of the things that drew me to the game is the fact that you have to work to develop your character.

    I love this game.

ya FE you really have to put on your thinking cap or you can gimp your character or at least cost yourself some time, not to knock Aion it is a beautiful game that is very fun in its own right depending on your mood either one can be great.  Right now FE has some bugs to wrk out, I have killed enemies and it does not register for 10 minuts, I will be working on a quest only to find nothing is regestering , very frustrating.  Aion this does not happen.   Again if you have read any of my other posts you know I am dissapointed at FE for doing a super job with their tutorial and not with the main game and from what i have been reading it is turning off  people
