Final Fantasy XIV: TGS '09: New English Trailer!

MikeBMikeB Community ManagerAdministrator RarePosts: 6,555

Appearing at this year's Tokyo Games Show is a new trailer for Final Fantasy XIV. The trailer is a mix of CG and gameplay footage, much like the original trailer that debuted at this year's E3.

In this latest trailer we're shown some of the beautiful vistas to be seen in Eorzea, as well as footage of the new races revealed earlier this summer.

You can view the trailer here.

ummm wow, what can i say. Some of this definitely looks like in game cut scenes which look great. The rest it is obvious it was cgi trailer stuff, but wait the music.... I mean this is why we love Uematsu and the other composers he works with, every song was nothing short of amazing, and I got chills at the end when the crystal music started playing, and maybe a little chubs. I apologize for the nerding out, but this brought me back to when I first started playing FFXI. So far it has reminded me of Lost Odyssey for some reason, kind of fantasy/ a little magic sci-fi technology going on, mixed with the nostalgia of  FFXI.

I half to be honest, from what i've come to expect from CE, I was disapointed and thought the trailer was pretty lackluster. It didn't really flow very well either.

I know exactly what you mean about the Lost Odyssey feel, that was also a pretty good game =)

Trailers are trailers... they don't really impress me anymore, I am just more interested in seeing the bare bones of the game  for some reason (I am referring to all trailers for every game). But it is definitely nice to see more things on this title =)

FFXIVcore should have a gameplay video up in a bit ^^

I was kind of disappointed with TGS2009 though =/ SE said there will be no new info on the game.

Nestled in a far corner of Hydaelyn,
battered by restless seas lies a realm
over which the Twelve hold vigil.

And so, seeking glory and greatness,
riches and renown we set out for this land - Eorzea.

On our journey, lifelong friendships were forged
and tearful farewells were bade as Nymeia the Spinner toiled,
    ever weaving our fates.

Yet the land we found was not without peril.

    And so we fight on!

    Until restless seas run dry.

    so...
