My MMO experience started in Star Wars Galaxies, so I never played anything earlier. Quite unfortunately, nothing has come even close to topping that experience, and with current trends I don't think anything will. Sad.
Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic Played: SWG, Guild Wars, WoW Playing: Eve Online, Counter-strike Loved: Star Wars Galaxies Waiting for: Earthrise, Guild Wars 2, anything sandbox.
UO was my first MMORPG, also it was my favorite of all time. Nothing has come close IMO to what UO had as far as MMO experience. Most MMOs I see today I get the same experience in console gaming. If they continue making MMORPGs like this I predict that console gaming will start to steal some of their market, as consoles continue to diversify of course.
Played UO up until EQ was released, & Played AC casually alongside EQ for a while but lost interest in it, I stayed with EQ for around 8 years taking 12 months off in the middle & I stopped playing it to join WAR when it came out in Sept 08.
Planning to rejoin either EQ or EQ2 next year, & bumming around in F2P stuff in the meantime.
I played EQ1 for a month then me any my friends all went to FFXI . I play AC for the free trial and never played UO . Sadly when my friends were playing it my computer sucked ass and I never thought of buying a graphics card. Computers were a new thing for me then and I was 15 at the time UO came out. Plus I usually spent all my money on herb or trying to keep up with my skateboarding habit anyways. lol
I played all three of those. UO at release, EQ at release, AC for a brief time. I hated every second of EQ that I played but I had friends that played. Luckily after Kunark launched I was able to talk them into switching over to UO which I played for about 5 years off and on. AC was brief, probably the only one I didn't really give much time on, maybe a month or two but I was really burnt out on MMOs and went to play FPS's for a while.
I played EQ and AC for 3 years and liked AC the most. If only they capped the levels to a point, its my only complaint. Hopefully Mortal Online will be like Asherons Call, heres hoping.
Started off with Asheron's Call back in '99. Loved every minute of that game, played until '05. Still resub and mess around from time to time. Favorite MMO to this day.
Played EverQuest from '01-'02, but it just couldn't pull me away from Asheron's Call. Was too used to having my character built around the skills I wanted, and hated the templates. Go figure this is 80% of the industry now.
Played Ultima after my experience with both the above, only played briefly, around a week. Honestly don't remember too much, didn't see many people around other than the friend that got me to try it out.
I played EQ for well over 5 years. I would return to it now if they merged a whole heap of servers, and launched a Locked Progression Server that opened over time, not by deed

Beta'd and played UO for years. I was a huge fan of the Ultima series.
Tried EQ but didn't like the interface or tiny viewing port or controls. Thought it was neat though. Didn't stick with it. Later I revisited after PoP and played for about a year.
Played AC for around 3 months after release. Thought it was cool but was far too into UO to give it enough playtime. Always felt like I missed out. AC seems like it was a cool game back in the day.
Want to try Fallen Earth next I think. Not big on MMOs with guns, but it seems interesting. I like the sandbox aspect.

Played UO for a couple of years.
EQ and AC no, not my kind of games.
Playing: EVE, Final Fantasy 13, Uncharted 2, Need for Speed: Shift

Played AC for several years. Best game I've ever played, and ruined most others for me.

Lineage was my first mmorpg, that came out in 98, so that poll does not apply to me i guess.
March on! - Lets Invade Pekopon

I started on AC, but I was pretty casual.
I played all 3 for over a year each, and liked each one for different reasons.
It's kind of funny how the first Big Three represented all styles of MMO gameplay..
You had UO - The Sandbox
EQ - The Themepark
AC - The Hybrid
Yet it's unfortunate that only one of those types really caught on.
Hybrid is coming back, stronger than ever.
Point me in the direction of one, because I have yet to see a true hybrid since AC.

FFXIV, we have to wait a year for it to release though

I swore I would never pay to play an online game.. and then SWG was announced. Since then, I've played many MMO's, but none of those three.
so...

I actually was one of the beta testers for the original EQ. I played for years.
I also played AC and UO on their releases. I was in part of the beta for AC as well.
I can't recall which was first for me, EQ or M59 though.
I played EQ for well over 5 years. I would return to it now if they merged a whole heap of servers, and launched a Locked Progression Server that opened over time, not by deed
UO - Never liked it was very clunky.
AC - Never tried it
Played EQ for more then 2 years and have played many since but have never found the same enjoyment or community that I found in EQ.
I recently went back to EQ waiting for the release of Aion and although alot had changed it was still very enjoyable.
now that's good friendship
Watched friends play them. That was sufficient to keep me away from MMOs for years....
If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.

I played EQ for over 5 years . Btw EQ wasnt really a theme park game.
