Got my STO beta slot nailed down today!

I just won a beta key from one of the Cryptic devs :D

 

Why isn't STO voted higher yet? C'mon people :D

    Me too. If you want to win a key Join the IRC on their site every wednesday 2:30pm EDT, 11:30am PDT.

    They host a trivia contest which they ask 5 questions. Whomever gets the most wins a beta key. Due to a fluke two people got one this week :)

    Congrats to both Slingbladez and HittingSmoke. :) It was my first time witnessing one of the trivia contests. I'm glad I've got a key already, because I sure as heck wouldn't win one of those contests. I bow to your knowledge of Trek, and guess I'll have to read more Memory Alpha. :)

    No need to bow to my knowledge of trek. Both of my answers were googled ;). As silly as it is to have a trivia game where most of the answers are from people googling it can still be pretty fun.  After a few weeks you get pretty goot at googling the answers :).

    Amusingly enough, I'm not much of a Trekkie and usually am completely lost at those trivia contests. I just got ridiculously lucky with two questions that I knew the answers to off the top of my head :D

     

    I don't even remember what the first question I answered was. The reason I knew the Bendii question was because it's one of my favorite TNG episodes

     yeah, i got extremely lucky. I love ST, but I never really watched to memorize anything, and my memory recall is pretty bad.  

     

    The first question was about tricorders, hence it was a reading/typing speed contest. I speed read and didn't even check the spelling...

     

    The second question i just happened to remember which episode they used the stasis tubes in, because the tubes were in empok nor... So yeah, that was awesome :)

    i cant wait to see all the troll posts from people who got into beta crying about how the game sucks and nothing is in the game and theres bugs. thats going to be awesome.

    yeah, I'm a bit worried about that myself.  A lot of people got into the beta from CO subs. They signed up for a superhero game that is much different than ST.  That, and they may think that they paid for the beta and think they deserver a cookie.  It's a beta, there will be problems, I hope they realize that....

    The trivia tends to be really fast, some of these guys actually know the answer off the top of their heads. Would be nice if they did that for differing difficulty levels :P
