Aion UK retail installs as Aion NA

in Aion

Aion EU installs as Aion NA... and then updates itself and launches in.... Korean! WTF?!

Ive checked fixes like deleting the language file - doesnt work; dry uninstall from NC launcher - doesnt work; full reinstall - doesnt work; changing the settings to EU region in NC launcher + plus language settings - doesnt work...

Help any1?

     once in the luncher where ncsoft have their annoucement made you change language there then reboot game and it should lauch properly

    Only suggestion I have is try the Aion forums and ask around there.  Try NCsofts customer service and ask them.  If they can't do anything(highly doubt) just dl the client from their website.  Sorry don't know the link since I'm in the US.

    the first suggestion doesnt work, the second i already tried, the reply was a link to a post with solutions mentioned in my original post that dont work... i give the game another 24 hours to sort itself out, then i want my dosh back...

     You download a client from gamershell or sth, install it. Point the Aion shortcut to the installation directory and Bob's your uncle. Well sort of, 'cos then you wait for all the patches to dowload.

    I wouldn't blame the game though because i don't know anyone else with your error so it must be a user's fault :D

    You start the launcher, go to settings put it on Europe and English. Then you should see on the left as installed Aion(US) and as not installed Aion Europe. You right click aion europe and there should be there an option to browse for the game. You go there to wherever Aion is installed and in the Bin directory (you will see he's looking for a specific bin file so that's where you have to point the path). Once you confirm the changes it should ask you something and then re-patch (500megs or so) and should be ok. There was a web page explaining it with pictures but I can't find it anymore :(

     

    PS and no it is not a user fault. I had exactly the same thing installing the game from the DVD bought in a game shop in europe. Client installed as US then patched and became korean then.....

     

    Edit no 2 Let me know if it solves it, I can still look for the webpage when i get home from work...

    ok sorted, dry uninstall through the NCl + plus putting in aion.bin in place of location for the Aion title on the bottom of the NCl game list, whew, thanks for advice
