Have they opened that many more servers in the US ? Are americans less interested in the game ? I just cannot figure out this disparity. On my server (Vidar EU) there is a 3 hours queue every evening at peak time. I'm not in a rush or hurry to play the game, but I can understand why people get annoyed.
I think Ncsoft is quite happy now. They would do their best to keep their current customers than receiving new customers because their business is overloaded. So they wouldn't care that much whether you wanted to buy the game or not.
It has been a big success to them already.
I wanted to buy AION but Ncsoft does not earn the credit yet.
Now I am playing DDO with VIP account on EU server, Premium account on US server. It's a fun game.

EU is bigger than NA Both populations are about 300 millions.
I still find it (if not just a small amount) ironic that people flexed the server stability in the beta, to hear queues all over the place. Look at even SCII prepping for MONTHS their network capabilities (and its not even an MMO), its a shame to see that most companies still haven't learned that servers are the key to success (once you get the hook).
It's a shame though, because the free month of aggravating queue's will drive away a fair % of the player base. First impressions...ftw? But by no means does it mean to not get the game, just like it was said before...wait it out a few months (as NCSoft should have to ensure the packed early creation servers were solid).
Honestly it is posts like this that piss me off. You have absolutely no idea how an mmo works do you my friend? When a game launches queues are implemented to make sure there aren't constant server overloads. In the U.S. since our release was pretty much earlier than your alls, our queues have already died down to nothing if anything at all. Just give it a week and the same will happen for you all, as far as customer service, of course it is not fulling operational right now, they JUST released the damn game. Can't expect them to be operating as smoothly as a game that has been out for years. People need to stop being pissy about these normal launch issues, and stop down-rating the game because of them.

I know very well how MMO's launch and bought every single AAA MMO in recent history. 90% of those I could actually login and play during the first week of launch with some queuing. This however takes the piss 4 hours i've been able to play in t he last 6 days the rest of the time has been in queues on multiple servers for hours only to be disconnected when in the last 80 places and having to queue over again (no this is not a internet connection issue). I can't even get a refund as steam has a bull crap policy of no refunds, and NCSOFT keep sending me back to steam to get a refund, its beyond a joke.
This is called lack of testing and their infrastructure isn't scalable, considering this game has been out in Korea for a year they have absolutely no excuses at all for the crap going on for the Europe launch.

I paid for collectors edition, ams till waiting for it to be delivered, was finally posted out 28/09 and is now sitting in some poxy HDNL depot cos they dont do weekend deliveries (stupid f"$%^£& Courier firms)
No mention of any contact regarding Pre-select or early access so I guess I got f"£$^£ over on that one as well
No intention of creating a toon or activating my account until the game queues are right down
Just hope they dont cancel my little +1 bonuses for paying extra for the Collectors Edition
The population of Europe is over 800 million as of 09, the population of the European Union regions combined hit over 500 million this year and is climbing.
So there's around a 200 million difference...
I am guessing though that the population of America is larger than just the population of the USA. And North America also includes more countries than just the USA:
The northern continent of the Western Hemisphere, extending northward from the Colombia-Panama border and including Central America, Mexico, the islands of the Caribbean Sea, the United States, Canada, the Arctic Archipelago, and Greenland.

You are clearly the one who has no clue how a mmo work's. You dont outsell your server capacity ! Ive played almost every mmo out except eq 1 i played eq2 and wow on there launch day's and i did not get a 6 hour long queue time. And any problems that did arise during the launch of any mmo has always been adressed and informed there customers of what is happening this is far from the case with aion eu. We had our head start at the same time of the usa one and we had queue's then and they just keep getting longer and they tell us to wait a few months. There isnt any exscuse under the sun for this. Aion has been out for over a year they have had a long time to prepear for the launch of this game. Its a total joke how its being handled. They couldnt even use there own forums or so they said.
Thanks for the warning. I'll wait a few more months before giving Aion a try. Will be checking this forum to see when queue is eliminated or has a manageble time for a couple of minutes instead of hours.
I would bet that 1 month [ once the free offered month ends ] will be enough to clear up the queues.. for good.
Well i emailed there customer support again and got a responce asking for my details so i was hoping they would refund me.
But no i just got antoher email saying
[qupte]In reviewing the account, I can see that the game has been played quite a bit since its creation. I am unable to issue you a refund due to this. If you have any further questions, please let me know.

Needless to say i am now fairly pissed off, I cant play and they wont give me a refund.
I changed server leaving a lvl 12 chanter and had to reroll due to queue time , The server i moved to now has even longer queue time's and i cant be bothered to wait 3+ hour's when i come in college/work to get a abysmal amount time in game.
I will be taking this further.
The very least they can do is give us refunds as they are not providing the service we paid for.
lol this is hilarious america 75 % server empty, and eu need those 75 % server just to lower their line-up frm 6 hour to 2 hour lol
funny I play AION NA, and can never get on my server in primetime without a wait. In fact all the original servers are HIGH, so not sure how that equates to 75% empty. But we all know what you are -- I would be more specific, but its getting old getting banned...It was cool the first 10 times or so...
check the whole lot of server lol not just one ,and add the rest of the day not just prime time its 75 % empty and when there are player its mostly east coast the rest of the day ho say 12 hour all server are mostly empty the only 25% i give is because 5 or 6 server are full 5 hour a day
Er.. where the hell are you getting your numbers?
I'm pretty sure you're pulling them out of your ass, but I would like to know just the same. If you're going off of the server login screen not saying "High" 24/7 for each server, then lol @ you and your proof is terrible.
drbaltazar i dont know what your smoking, but the servers are all hammered....queues every night on them all apart from the new ones theyve added, why would they have just added servers in the last week if there 75% empty.....engage brain before fingers, and i play 50+ hours a week, so i do see all times
This is a clear fail from NCSoft. If their game is so insanely popular right now (wait for free month to end) they should add more servers asap. I guess many would rather re-roll than continue the queuing every evening.
Queues have gone down etc... but it is still far from how it should be or far from what most people are used too from other MMOs today.
And people, please don't start questioning why people queue for the game... they do it because they like it!

Suggestion? Open temporary servers. Allow people to play on them so the ques will die down, and then when everything starts to settle and/or they open more servers, just allow free transfers off the temporary servers, and it should go smooth.

EU's population is over half a billion. But the part that use English as their main or second language is down to about 100-150 million.

they added a server yeasterday or wendays lol
i even rolled a toon there ats wtchemacallit kind of name(very long name)

75% empty, thats a bit over the top. I admit since launch ive not sat in any queues on the US servers. But most are still on high.

Good i havent bought it
6-12 month and its like Vanguard, empty of nerds and WoW cows.
Then i buy it for 19.99 and enjoy.

1. They opened more servers
2. The end of the free month will let the numbers drop (unless not, then AION might be really big)
3. They work on the server transfer, first one for free, and state it can be ready next month
This, if all works out, could solve the queue issues for most if not all realms. The new realms so far have 0 queue as I heard from friends.
