MMORPG that works on 16MB graphic card :D

SylaxaSylaxa Member Posts: 8

Hey,

I have a old Acer Travelmate 2350 Notebook with a 16MB Intel graphic card. I want to play a mmorpg on it! Anybody know a game, that works on it?

Thanks

I like Ultima Online, but I dont want to play on a freeshard server. I'm playing World Of Warcraft. Does it work with this hardware? Intel Garphic card 16MB, Intel Celeron 1,3GhZ 512MB RAM!

Are there any other games work on this notebook?

No, probably not even on low my brother can't play it and his computer is quite a bit better than yours. But he has screwed it up a bit so that may effect the frames too.

Runescape and AQworlds, both decent games that should run fine, Runescape is actually pretty damn good, grindy but has one of the best quests in the genra.

How much memory is in it?  If at least 256 megs I'm reasonably confident RealmLords will run on that (at lowest settings) providing the drivers correctly support OpenGL (most do, a few don't).

Oh, and this is real 3D, not 2D tiles and a locked camera.

My low end test rig is a laptop (Acer 3613):

    Celeron 1.5 ghz Intel mobile

256 megs of RAM (Windows 2000)

    shared memory onboard video

    1024x768 display

Load up takes a while, and stitching (dynamic objects loading) can be pretty bad, but it runs.  FPS isn't terrible if you pull the view distance modifier down to 25% (see 250 meters instead of 1000).  Right now memory is the issue.  I have a patch coming up in a few days, which should cut memory use by 30% or so.

Attached is an ancient screenshot, but it'll give you an idea :-)

Realm Lords is interesting but on the website are the following requirements:

    Windows XP

    2.0 ghz or better processor

    512 mb RAM

OpenGL 3D Graphics Accelerator w/ 64 MB RAM

Oh Sorry, you said on the lowest setting! I'll test it out!

I would give runescape and tibia a chance, dont take to much on your hardware..

Or else i would go with a text based rpg ;)

UO in its current state wouldnt run on a 16mb video card not even in 2D. Best bet is probley runescape or a browser/text based rpg.

First off, I surprised you can run a web browser on that thing.

As for the game, I seriously don't think anything 3D would run on it. I'd try Diablo or other 2D MMOs.

I second with the fellow recomending the first Diablo game. Or maybe some old MUD.

Time to get a new computer, that sounds more like a cell phone today then a computer.

Or maybe buy a Ps2 and play FFXI on it, they are almost giving those away now both new and second hand. It is over 10 years old but will still give a good boost compared to your PC.

AC1 will run on that thing easily.

    Middle to lower middle settings.

When I started playing AC1(1999) it was on a box with worse stats than your laptop and I had no issues at all.

Einherjar_LC says: WTB the true successor to UO or Asheron's Call pst!

    What is AC1? :D

I'd sell your laptop as vintage on ebay and buy a decent one in its stead.

Yes Asheron's Call, good game solid gameplay and should run without issue on that computer.
