i started playing DDO with some friends from another game. now since creating a guild costs 250 points i was wondering if it is actually worth it, we are 8 playing but we stay in contact with our main game EvE we also have vent and such that we log on that place.
so other than a guild chat channel what other advantages does a guild have in DDO? since we wont be really using that chat channel much if any at all.
Comments
DDO guilds really offer no other advantages at this time.
alright, thanks
There once was some dev chatter about adding things for guilds but so far, like many things mentioned over the years, it has been slow to be realized. Hopefully the influx of players is causing an influx of cash so Turbine can really dedicate some people to this game again.

what kind of things? like shared banks? guild halls?

I believe both of those were discussed at least a little. The devs kind of made an open Guild Improvement statement that left them wiggle room and so far nothing on that front has been added. Of course those comments are now over 2 years old and may not even be in the plans at all any longer. One can hope for some big time additions though.
You can say you own a guild and control it. Guild chat and rights of being in the guild( happen to be none) its a large chat room with friends. it dos help to raid tho, just cause every one knows each othere and playing styles. plus no random drop outs if your party whipes. I am hopeing they will bring some things to guild options in the near future.

well the only people i play with are from my eve online corp (guild) so we know our playstyles etc...
I see it as the easiest way to get everyone together. Being able to see who is on in one window, and not have to whisper each other. Seems like a no brainer......
