As you can all see the tiltle, it is acctualy a question. I have not been able to go into beta testing of this game and for some strange reason I could not download game client and try the product.
But I am a big fan of Warhammer franchise in general (played almoust every warhammer game, have 3 TCG decks of warcry etc). So I would really like some of your oppinions is this game worth money and time investition.
I would like to play it but I am reading some things about death of the game, and since I have experienced closing of Tabula Rasa which I liked wery much, I would deff avoid that experience again. So is closing just some rumor, is it really going to happen?
Also I would like to know is end game just PvP oriented or there is PvE as well. Also I have read on forums that you can not progress in game anymore cause of low level population, is this true?
Thank you all for your time and effort.

As you can read, alot of players have left the game and they just recently merge the oceanic servers with the u.s. So its currently not looking very bright for this game. And deep inside me, if this carry on they may have to close shop by next year.
But after reading the new patch notes, and tried the trial 4 times for the past 1 year and see improvements, im very glad with the directions they are moving and i just sub back.
Now i tell myself, i dont care whether this game will tank or not in near future, but right now im having fun and that's the most important.
I would like to suggest for you to give it a try. There's a 10 days trial and you can log in and see hows the pops and performance for you...

Thank you for your quick answer, seeing some possitive aspect for this game really encourages me to for it.
It has its upsides and its downsides as most games do.
On the upside.
A. It provides a good RvR/PvP experience. Scenarios are enjoyable, and when some good ORvR with evenly balanced teams gets going the game is very very fun. Almost unrivaled.
B. Leveling is very fun, with the Tier 1-3 areas designed very well, and scenarios and ORvR provide enjoyable alternate paths of leveling.
Unfortunately there aren't too many more upsides.
On the downside.
1. ALL of the above relies on population. As a consequence there is quite literally NOTHING to do (at least nothing even remotely enjoyable) while the game is going through its downtime. Unfortunately from a personal perspective this means there is nothing to do during my personal play times.
2. The game is coded VERY poorly, with animations not working smoothly with one another, the interface making it difficult to tell when an ability has gone off, or is queued, and countless ways to get stuck on seemingly innocuous objects. Many people experience large amounts of crashes (though I personally do not), and large scale ORvR (the game's strongest suit) has a tendency to produce unplayable lag and server crashes.
3. This one is personal preference, but I find all PvE in this game boring (particularly solo/small group questing). Not boring in the "this is kind of dull" way I find solo questing in WoW, but in a "I would rather scoop my eyes out with a rusty jagged spoon" kind of way.
4. No mechanism for controlling population imbalance which makes endgame nearly impossible for some servers/factions.
5. End game is lackluster. (can't vouch for that one myself)
6. There are issues with class balance, but not as many as some people make out I think. Besides what MMO doesn't have these issues?
Having said all that, I'd probably resub for this game if Mythic fixed #1 (though why #2 still exists a year out of launch is beyond me). I recently came back for the 10 day re-enlistment, and I enjoyed myself while playing during US prime time, but there is NOTHING to do during Oceanic peak times. I plan on keeping an eye on this game, and would probably return if they put scenarios onto multi-server battlegroups a la WoW/DaoC.
MUNDO!!
To have multi-server battlegroups, it is required to have more than one server. That is becoming problematic.
If one has not played the game before, and enjoys good PvP, then lower tiers are fun to play - if others are playing.
3 star talent equals bad game.

There's 6 servers left. It surely wouldn't equal less to do for the players. I think the plight of Warhammer during off peak times is something of a reverse snowball effect. People who would normally log on, don't bother because there will be nothing to do, and there's nothing to do because those people (rightly) don't bother logging on.
However if they don't do something soon, we really will be down to a single server.

The game is alive and well, people on these forums are just sour, and most have not ever played it and those who have, have not played in months. The game is better now, it continues to get better, lots of things have been fixed, with more coming.
All these things people complain about have been fixed, there are a few issues, but all games have issues. Try the trial or pick up a copy, and enjoy PvP as it was meant to be. WAR is simply the best PvP game out there. Nothing compares.

Except Daoc, which was better
DAoC WAS better but have you played recently?
WAR is on the right track now, I play on Gorfang so I can't say for the other servers but there's always ORvR going on, even at 3-4 am on weekdays. The classes are pretty well balanced now and I can't see a clear FOTM (except maybe healers XD, nothing turns a fight like us). I have not had a chance to do any PvE past level 5 for my first trophie so I wouldnt know how bad it is nowadays (damn you RvR)
What a load of rubbish. How has the horribly coded interface and world engine been fixed?
How has realm population imbalance been fixed?
How has giving the game ANY life during non-peak periods been addressed?
I know there are positive changes being talked about, but there have been many patches supposedly addressing the myriad of problems that WAR has. The game isn't all bad, but stop engaging in hyperbole and outright lies because most people aren't stupid enough to fall for it.

UI responsiveness is now top-notch, world engine? if you mean the inexplicable lag, it's been toned down a lot.
Realm population is fine most severs are Med/Med at the same time, I am able to find ORvR warbands at 4am. And both realms get to cap zones.
I'm on my second 10 day trial since release, had to go check things out since this forum reports things are so dire. Well, the time I"ve spent so far has been fine. Population in the newbie zones is not bad at all, not really any worse than a medium pop WoW server. The public quests are still fun, the normal questline is not bad (especially if you read the text!).
And considering the price on the eastore right now (about $12.69), I'll probably pay for that just to get a month out of it. If the place shuts down in a year, oh well, it's still a fun game now.
One really must take all the content on this forum with a big tablespoon of rock salt. This place isn't an adequate picture of reality, gamers, nor real gamers in a lot of cases. Download the 10 day trial, you can tell if you hate it or not, and with the $12.69 price tag you're not out much if the middle/upper tiers do turn out to be crap.

I'm sorry, but alot of that is either outright lies or the problems haven't affected you personally. UI responsiveness being "top notch" in particular is complete crap. Sure there's fewer people crashing uncontrollably but ability animations still get fired off multiple times per cast, abilities still get cast once by the client, then once by the server, players and mobs still inexplicably jump every which way around the battlefield, I still get stuck on tiny innocuous objects and fences/walls. This is just to name a few problems with the games coding off the top of my head.
I have not been able to find ANYTHING to do (other than solo questing) during Oceanic prime time all week. Admittedly last night I took some BOs with 3 other people, but we didn't see a single Destro during that time. When there is nobody, or very few people online the game is nearly unplayable, and that is a design flaw that hasn't been addressed.
WRT population imbalance, I didn't say that alot of the servers aren't balanced, only that there isn't any mechanism to address that imbalance if/when it occurs.
I agree with the statement re lag/server stability. Lag is still more frequent than I'd like, but it is better than at launch.
Like I said earlier, I'd probably still subscribe to this game despite it's problems if there was anything to do during my playtime. When this game gets going it's extremely enjoyable, but saying that all the problems have been fixed with this game (and that IS what spyder said) is a complete and utter lie and could only be conceivably uttered by a delusional fanboy or a Mythic viral marketer.

If you want to login kill players and logout. Then this is the game for you. If you want to setup a gank group and go around ganking. Then this also the game for you. But if you want to go around picking flowers for a amount of numbers then this is not the game for you.
by UI responsiveness I meant when I use a skill it happens without delay, WAR at release didnt do that right and now it does. IE Aion/CO atm have delays in the .0 seconds but still annoying. Never had any weird character/mob jumps nor did I see a delay with the my spells when it's done casting (excpet maybe travel time). Animations are still a problem but it's a lot better than it used to and getting stuck on objects is a pretty common MMO problem and getting unstuck in this game is rather painless and easy.
BTW what server are you playing on? are you actualy looking on all pairings for a RvR warband?
Thank you all for your replies, I will buy he game, since local store is on sold ut here and box is relly cheap now, cheaper than months fee. So I will hang out with it and see if I will subscribe after my first month.
Enjoy the game and don't mind the small talk people say here on the forums. If you enjoy the game when you login and once you logout go for it. Enjoy and welcome to WAR!
