Wish cancelled. Bad sign for DnL?

It was shocking to me that Wish was cancelled so close to release. I'm wondering if they were having trouble implementing a good game on such a grand scale. If thats true, I hope the DnL devs can succeed where the Wish devs failed. Could be something else, though. I don't have any inside info.

I dont tihnk so, worldwide DnL has alot more people interested in it than Wish did.

Dark and Light will undoubtly take a portion of possible Wish subsribers now that the game is cancelled.

Why Wish was cancelled is anybody's guess. Official reason given was poor subsriber base. - That seems a little like a lie, though. It might very well be that the game was cancelled because of a major corporation paying them to do so. Or it could just be so, that the investors (private organisation) behind the devs pulled the plug because they don't believe in them any more and wish to cut losses. Such a thing seems rather remote happening to DnL.

I agree. This game has a HUGE following in europe, such as france and sweden. Alot of people in my guild are from over there.

It wasn't anybodies guess, I've been bashing it since Beta 2 and for good reason. Now it got cancelled. I'm not surprised at all. It was just a totally ridiculous game. And it was too similar to DNL but much less in scale. So DNL was obviously going to eclipse it and their publishers im sure knew that, and knew it was a bad investment and pulled out.

I think its a bad sign. Making A MMORPG is a huge undertaking. It seems like only the larger companies will suvive.

Dragon Empire had the same problem. They had too many technical problems and not enough resources to solve them.

I still think there's a good chance it will be released. I'm just not 100% sure anymore

its a bad sign if DnL is as unplayable as wish.

if its a good game, it will survive and do well.

No. Dark and Light is actually a game. It would be an insult to the mmorpg genre, if they decided to ever release Wish.

Good stuff if you ask me. I have a buddy who was rather interested in Wish...when I checked it out...just wasn't anywhere near DnL quality!

Yes i think its a bad sign.Wish wasnt bad of subscribers at all and the betatesters of dnl cant play these days because technical problems.

DnL development has nothing to do with Wish since they are different companies - in fact, seeing as how there seems to be a lot of Wish refugees here - I'd say it's not bad at all.

I don't think that it is a bad sign because now more people are potential customers. DnL is going on for quite some time now too so i hope/think that they don't get in financial problems this late in development but then again look at DE/wish, they were in beta too.

Just hope they don't have to many problems and they can keep themselves to their schedule and that it comes out somwhere near april/may.

Has anybody been over to the official Dark and Light forums recently? The forum is full of people who just came over from Wish. Apparently, the Wish servers had alot of people spreading the word about DnL. So..I think its a good sign for DnL. It has a lot of supporters, so I doubt it will be cancelled. That said, anything can happen.

Well everyone seems to be saying the same thing over and over again. Lol I'm gonna say it too. Most the people I have spoken to liked both Wish and DnL but since theres is no Wish they most likely will play the other. Less competition isn't always better for the consumers though
