I bought an Ibuypower PC once a few years  back.  While I cannot compare it to Cyberpower I can compare it to say, Dell.

The Ibuypower machine came in a shabby state. it was extremely clear that even though I did not put a rush on it the PC had not been burned in or tested. How do I know, well, the video card was not even screwed in and was loose as was the light bar that lit up the glass faced case. They told me it must of happened during shipping but there were no loose screws in the case.

They offered for me to swap it out or to send me a new video card. Since it was loose it was actually damaged during shipping though I could tell it was because it was not mounted in the first place.

I replaced the video card and all was well but parts began failing shortly after warrenty. I replaced pieces but have since put it out to pasture.

Now, I have three Dells, one that is older than the Ibuypower machine, and all still work perfectly. The older one is the one my kids use for the internet and their more simple games. Yes, you pay more for them but they always have come well prepared and obviously well tested.

I know some other people who have had better luck with Ibuypower my experience was not great. I probably should have let them replace the entire machine instead of just a vid card swap.

Ther Ibuypower customer service company  was responsive to me.

    Hope that helped some.

Cyberpower for me was a nightmare.

While the prices were very reasonable for the rig I bought I would have paid twice the amount to avoid the headache. From the begining it was nothig but problems with  the computer randomly rebooting , hardware failing and my graphic card wasnt even attached when it was delivered.

When I tried to get a refund that started a whole new problem until by some miricle I was finally connected to someone decent who spoke clear english and was willing to really listen and help me.

The customer service is very bad, not only did I have a hard time understanding them, I had a hard time getting them to return my calls. The 24 hr support is a lie.

Good luck If you buy from these guys.

You know, as an alternative there's always Xtreme Gear (Buyxg.com), which gives the same hardware and prices. Their BBB rating is a B as opposed to e B- for Ibuypower and Cyberpower. They also have VERY few complaints (14 vs 250 for Ibuypower and a staggering 475 for Cyberpower).

If it really is either or though, I've heard far more bad things about Ibuypower personally, and I seem to recall that they spent a long time with a significantly lower BBB rating. Perhaps they've recently cleaned up their act?

In any case, never count on customer service with any company. Unless you want an RMA and have very good grounds to get it, you'll always be largely left to solve actual problems with a machine on your own. The only thing that ever differs, really, is the quality of the build. I just had a friend buy a PC from Cyberpower. We had a small delay because the Phenom X3 720 had run out, but it still came acceptably quickly (within 2 or 3 weeks including build time), and the assembly job seemed solid. There were no loose connectors, and the spare power cables were tucked nicely out of the way of anything.

Why not buy the parts from Newegg and put it together yourself.   You can build a really decent system for far less than buying one.    You don't even need to be a total geek to build one either, if I can do it, anyone can do it.  ^_^

cyberpower and buyxg are the same company.  i had a nightmare dealing with them, you would be best to stay away.  i paid 1300 for a pc from there, it came with the CPU pins crushed / loose case fans/ and a dented power supply.  They had a tech come out with a replacement part then it had a optic drive issues that actually CUT into my OS install disk.  after 3 months and talks with the CA BBB and some other agencies they finally refunded me the full price, i had to eat the 50 to ship it back.   if you know much about buying PC's the parting and buying from Newegg is the best way to go

I have nothing but good things to say about Ibuypower.  They built my PC perfectly, I paid the extra 12 bucks or something to have it professionaly wired.  This insured that I would receive it in working order and ready to fire up out of the box, a lot of people probably didn't realize that.  Good luck in your shopping.

Bought a rig from Cyberpower, had no problems with it whatsoever.

Yes, you can build your own.  But for a few extra hundred I'd rather have someone else do it for me.

I have dealt with both over the years but would not deal with either ever again, although both did cover their gross faults. In both cases, I ordered two machines at once as both I and my wife game and we tend to upgrade together.

Ibuypower was clearly the worse of the two, later became obvious that the cases and some parts were refurbished/used despite ordering supposedly all new machines. One of the two motherboards failed in a matter of days; it was replaced at no cost, but the nuisance was significant. Both machines eventually died significantly sooner than they should have had they been quality gear.  (Remains of these and some spare parts are now serving as a print server and file storage dump)

Cyberpower was much better in initial appearance, more professionally done. However, the HD on one failed almost immediately (and was again replaced, but a nuisance); almost immediately once off warranty the power supply on one failed, followed within a matter of weeks by the GFX card on the other.  (Remains of these two are now cobbled together as a backup PC)

My latest is an Alienware and although vastly more expensive, it has been a dream from the first day. No problems and very well put together.

I have purchased two systems from CyberPowerPC. One was totally fine, the other had a power supply issue when it arrived. After talking to the tech support guy, I sent back the second computer, they fixed it, and sent it back and now it works fine. I did not pay for any of the postage. I would definitely buy from CyberPowerPC again.

My friend also bought a system from CyberPowerPC, and his computer had heat issues and would reboot itself when it got hot. He had purchased a cheaper motherboard than I did though that turned out to have known heat issues that had nothing to do with CyberPowerPC. He put in 2 extra case fans and replaced the CPU cooloer and his rig works fine now. He told me that he would buy from them again as well.

When I was doing the research for my computer purchases, it seemed to me that CyberPowerPC was always cheaper than IBuyPower by a little bit and CyberPowerPC seemed to have more configuration choices that agreed with my personal tastes. I also priced comparable pieces from NewEgg and it seemed to me that building a droid from scratch using NewEgg parts would have been more expensive than either IBuyPower or CyberPowerPC.

I would tend to go with CyberPowerPC if I needed a new computer, but actual price comparisons from my research of actual parts would guide my hand in the end of any new purchase decision.

This is always the best advice on getting a PC. In the end, there's a never a better choice than yourself for a PC manufacturer.

It's not just the saved money; it's the guarantee of quality. You're building this machine for yourself, so you're going to be very meticulous about making sure it's done right. I'd also much rather deal with Newegg if something died than some budget PC assembly company.

The other advantage to building a machine is complete customizability. Places like Cyberpower PC do an okay job of giving you some choice, but why leave it at that when you can have access to every part out there? Why choose between a cheap PSU that's going to blow out, or Cyberpower's single decent PSU in the wattage range you're looking for that's completely overprice, when instead you can just go out and find the best deal yourself? The same goes for any component.
