What 4 things would you like to see in Fallen Earth?

We already know camps and housing will be coming, but what else do you think?

Here is my simple wish list

1. A more modern User Interface design. (I don't think this should be a big issue, but a little more now would be nice. I feel like the UI is similiar to Dark Age of Camelot.

2. Pet Companions. (Any type of critter with restrictions in FE would also be great).

3. Musical Instruments. (Oh yeah, c'mon, we need Washboards, Spoons, Banjo's, Piano's, Accordions, well you get the jest. The sky is the limit here). Great for role players as well.

4. PvP toggle off / on. (We know there are PvP zones in place, but it would be nice to have this feature).

    1. I like this idea, but we know the player made customized UI's are already on the way so might be a moot point.

    2. Def, where is my Dogmeat!

    3. We already have the dancing in so would make sense. Noisy game if they do it, we are getting wasteland radio soon.

    4. Not a fan. Defeats the purpose of the faction war if anyone can waltz into a enemy controlled faction town and scav.

    Better performance.

    More intuitive interactions/interface.

    Pets.

    Better performance.

OK here we go. This list is based from my crafting exp in game...

    1. Semi permanent or permanent degradation system for usbale items (i.e. armor, weapons and vehicles

    2. Exeperimentation system for crafting of usable items (I have a very detailed discription of how this could be done in mind, just not sure it COULD happen due to coding)

    3. New skill based set instead of based on just perception and intellect (Those are not the only traits one would need to craft everything available. I do agree that it was nice being able to craft everything, but lets add a little depth and economy to the game now that we know we have a good sized player base)

    4. A new skill for pet breeding(trading and selling pets no experimentation since CREATURES are not items :) all you star wars fans really know why I would not want experimentation with pet breeding. You bio engineers are crazy.

Honestly, the only thing I'd really like to see is non-instanced player (or clan) housing of some sort.

As far as vanity pet companions, I was thinking it would be cool if we each had the ability to tame baby pets we find in the wild. Maybe they could be uncommon (not rare)  random spawns and we have a limit of one or two per character.  It would be cool if we could raise them from a baby to adulthood and name them.

It would be nice if I could name my horse :)

I love your idea with musical instruments.  LOTRO has an awesome musical system, so something like that would be great.

Pvp toggle off/on would be cool.  Fun.

Player owned houses and player towns and militias also would be cool.  And stores with vendors for the crafters.

There's lots of cool things they could add.

This is probably the biggest thing right now for me as well

    - horse whistle to command it to come for you or follow you around

    - bicycles and desert sailers (energy scarcity and all)

    - player housing

    - more pollish, especially to AI and drawing distance of objects; too much contrast between far off and close by textures

  • 1. Game engine performance

    2. More clothing options and variety

    3. Flight (could be very, very rare, but I would love some gliders or home made fliers ala Mad Max)

    4. Better world map - I would love to be able to see the world map and nodes etc a lot better)

Pretty nice compilation of idea's, make sure we post some of these idea's on FE's Forum sight. Apparently these devs listen to their player base (for now that is)..

A straight link to their suggestion forum..

     -Faction warfare.

A real player driven economy, which entails:

-Item degredation: Items should wear out and eventually break with use. (It's not as bad as it sounds. In a player driven economy, good weapons are readily available, if you can pay. Look at Eve, or maybe Ryzom to see how to do it right. )

-No NPCs selling raw materials. This breaks the economy in the long run, period. Maybe have them sell cruddy components for people who want to grind out crafting levels, but they can't be stocking good materials.

AI!!! The AI is so stupid. At least make it semi-FPS. Enemies should run for cover, lean, shout to friends, ect. Also, the "aggro circle" doesn't work for FPS. They should see, hear, and monsters might even smell where you are, but an "aggro circle" is about as complex as Wolfenstein 3D...

Hopefully with the money they are getting, they can implement these changes. Unfortunately, the economy is important to me, and so far they seem to show absolutely no sound grasp on economic theory. A game without a good economy is no fun for me.

I would like the factions to actually mean something beyond PvE skillups and gear. It's the only reason I have decided not to try the game, but its a big one for me. I realize it's more of a PvE game right now, which is fine. But that's what I would change, personally.

    1) Player housing

    2) Sectors with player controllable "areas" (which would include an assortment of buildings and items to aid this

    3) Even more crafting variety

    4) A move away from AHs and toward player shops (an option to "turn on/off" that comes with player housing) and npc vendors.

I'm with you on all counts Dark Pony.  The fact that my horse doesn't follow me around or at least "stay close" really bugs me. lol  If I'm smart enough to craft the sucker out of bio waste and nothingness, shouldn't I be smart enough to genetically engineer or train it to stay close.   =D

This is absolutely needed ASAP, or the economy will head straight down the shitter, and crafting will eventually be pointless.

Besides that, I'd like to see better performance, improved UI elements, and better vehicle physics.

    Player housing with vendors (non-instanced)

Pets: Make them combat support (buffers, healers, etc essentially a pet version of the food buffs) but unable to participate in offensive combat (attackable by NPC and PC though like horses).  Make them craftable (trainable) off the science, mutagenics (sp?) and nature skill trees.  Although my concept would be that the nature would allow you to create the animal, the mutagenics would all you to give it buffs, and science would allow you to make the animal and buffs better.  Bottom line is a pet would require components crafted from all three trees at similar skill levels (maybe you can make the beginner "dog" at 50 nature, but to make any improvements you need a "mutated heart" at 55 mutagenics for the "dog" to have a 3 hp / 10 sec heal buff, and then 60 science can make that a "reinforced mutated heart" for 4hp / 6 sec heal buff.)

I'd like to say the AI, but honestly I haven't seen an mmorpg that had a sophisticated AI.  Especially one that was sophisticated for melee, ranged, and support like people seem to expect.

Overall stability and function of the game engine to include the high traffic problems we see now, fixed.

    1. A Nature skill book for pet training.
    2. Item decay to make crafting more meaningful.
    3. Player housing/shops with  NPC Vendors that work for you
    4. Ability to re-customize character, eg change hair, beard, pearcings, warpaint, etc. (bored with my warpaint)
  • KordeshKordesh Member Posts: 1,715

1: Smoother combat, possibly attainable with a better UI (switching weapons could be much easier) but mainly that required second/half second between attacks really throws off the flow sometimes.

2: More enemy noises/on screen damage notification. Seriously, I can't tell you how many times I've died because I was getting hit and didn't even know it.

3 and 4: Campsites/Towns/Villages: We need to be able to build them. Honestly, right now I think the game falls just short of sandbox, because at least as far as I know, there is nothing you can do to make part of the huge world out there "yours." Players need to be able to stake a claim. This alone would make the game leaps and bounds better than it currently is.

    1. An economy.

    2. Severe curbing of vendors to help achieve #1.

    3. Varying tradeskill stat combos to encourage specialization in order to achieve #1.

    4. Take leads from EVE in regard to a contracts system and encouraging long distance "foot" trade, like caravans. In order to achieve #1.

    EDIT:

I wonder if 4 is even possible, are all sectors level-specific? That would be a shame. Item 2 pretty much *must* be done eventually.

    1)combat pets would be awesome

    2)horse whistle of course

    3)AI improvements

4)player skill bonus on crafting of items

Still love the game as is but always room for improvement

    1) Weather effects, rain, dust storms.  something like Vanguard would be nice.

    2) Improve the detail levels as you approach cars, buildings etc.

    3) Performance fixes!

    4) To late for this i guess but smarter AI.  Theres no reason you should be able to stand 15 feet from a human kos npc and he not see you.  Its minor but sorta bugs me.  not that i want Darkfall level, those goblins saw you 100yds away.

While I would like this, honestly, just getting proper day/night transitions would be nice. As it stands one second its daylight and the next BOOM, stars.
