Glad to hear you like it. I have had it turned off since day one though. It sounds all too unfamiliar to me and I have a real hard time swallowing it most of the times.
But I will give it another shot after reading this

I am playing right now with music turned on for once, and just remembered why I turned it off to begin with.
Im venturing the lands of Beluslan and at first the music is quite nice actually. A harmonic church choir-ish ambient tune...
then suddenly... it turns into what I can swear is Lost World soundtrack, as if I were being hunted by a velociraptor. Or Lost soundtrack even, at the cliffhanger moments. It all becomes sorta stressful and disorienting to say the least.
Then when combat starts... man, electric guitars? It is almost identically to the soundtrack of Devil May Cry, which it really REALLY doesn't feel like and I must say it doesn't fit very much, at all.
So I will chill with music turned off So I can relax gathering my precious pineapples while I slay some saber tooth tigers.

I think the soundtrack is so-so. Some great, and some bad songs. I keep the battle bgm off. Listening to the same song loop over and over while you grind is really tiresome.
I turned the sound track off because I like to listen to music while I play but when I first loaded up the game (obv the music was on then) I remember hating the music - the high pitched screaming as you load up the log in screen - maybe i'll give it another chance but that music in the loading screen was enough to put me off permanently..
I don't think it's anything special myself but I have heard others rave about it so I guess it works well for some. For me, the music doesn't stand out at all although I don't find it bad either. It's just there...

Does no one here have a taste for good music? Clearly the Aion soundtrack is a marvelous work of art. The song on the start up screen is one of the best login songs ive seen. There are no "High pitched voices" they actually start at a low pitch and slowly build and dont get that high at all...
The electric guitars are a rare occurance. Theres only one area where I've heard guitars(on Elyos side) and that's in theobomos in the theobomos ruins. And that was during battle.
There's one song in particular that i find to be spectacular and that's "Song of Moonlight". It can be heard in the Holy lands in Verteron and in the Agaric Spore Road...
The Aion music is great. Just because its not driving rock or death metal or rap or whatever you happen to listen to doesnt mean that its not great music. The music that plays in the Tursin garrison(especially during battle) is extremely driving and epic. I had the game music on and my blood was pumping as i beat down veteran smackstoppers.
The Aion music is beautiful to say the least. It's a mix of classical and modern music. It's not your typical korean grinder that's filled to the brim with trendy Korean techno(though there is a song that plays in the abyss that sounds like a level form some crazy intense level from super mario).
But if you dont like the music, which some wont, then pop in itunes and play something else. but don't call the Aion soundtrack bad. Because it's the farthest thing form that. It's great music. It may not fit your personal taste but it is a great sound track. It ranks up there along side the Guild Wars, Dungeon Siege, Total Annihilation, Supreme Commander, Halo 1-3, and Star Wars sound tracks...
Great music- made by great composers.
MMO's are the ark of the gaming world. Let it take us in new directions.

...but AoC music is still the best Ive heard in any MMO
I'm with you on this. I feel the same.
Although, still to this day besides AoC one of the most memorable tunes to me in an MMO is the music at the login screen for WoW. That song always got me ready to kill some boars!
Yeah yeah...flame away, flame away.

I got the CE with the soundtrack, don't think that CD will ever make way to a drive again.
I love the soundtrack to this game, especially in the abyss it gets me really pumped! XD

Epic bad, maybe.

A player's impression on Aion's music will depend mostly on which faction he rolled, Asmodian or Elyos.
Ofcourse, its easy to tell which is side is Epic and which is repetitive.
Improve Aion's Graphics with a simple text file that you can create by yourself:
-Increase in-game Field of View to 175% or more
-Increase view distance for players to 100 meters with camera at max distance
-Lots of other settings

worst music ever heard in a mmo.
Techno music,no thanks.
But they're saying the name of the game!
aaaaaaAAAaaAAAAAAaAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOn
I found the music above average...but AoC music is still the best Ive heard in any MMO
Torrential: DAOC (Pendragon)
Awned: World of Warcraft (Lothar)
Torren: Warhammer Online (Praag)
The music is okay, but then again I am playing Asmodean I hear the Elyos music is better. Then again the grass is always greener...
Anyhow, I sometimes prefer to turn off the music and play the "Kingdom of Heaven" soundtrack. It sounds great with this game.
True Neutral Half-Elf Ranger Mage
Follower Of Silvanus
Kings of Chaos! Free to play! Great PvP!
