LOTRO Sound and Bose Speakers

I mentioned the amazing graphics of LOTRO in another thread and now I'd like to bring up the sounds.
LOTRO has the best ambient sounds of any MMO I have experienced. Taste in music and combat sounds are very subjective but the sounds of the world are the sounds of the world. LOTRO just nails it.
If you aren't impressed by the sounds of Middle-earth but you are a LOTRO fan, I would suggest you look into getting a pair of Bose Companion 2 Series II speakers. These $99 speakers fit LOTRO's ambient world sounds like a glove. I know there are speakers that are in the same price range that reviewers say are better but when it comes to LOTRO I would swear these particular speakers were made for the game.
I've heard LOTRO on several fancy 2.1 and 5.1 systems and would not trade my two little Bose speakers for anything on the market (except perhaps a Bose Companion 3 or 5 system).
This isn't to say that the Bose speakers are as equally fantastic for other games. It's just that LOTRO falls somewhere in the mid-range where the Bose magic just pops.

Yup, the ambient sound of LOTRO is unmatched (IMO)-
I played on a fairly inexpensive 5.1 system and it was amazing (seriously) to kick up the ambient and turn the music off. You could literally hear every sound around you in a very crisp, realistic and just awesome way.
Sound (to me) is probably more important than graphics- I modded out Morrowind and Oblivion with sound mods rather than retextures and even those sound mods dont come close to LOTRO sound.
I agree with turning up the ambient sounds and turning off the music. I think some people may be missing how fantastic the sound is because the music is clouding it out.
I can't think of another title where I turn off the music; not because I don't like it, but because the background sounds are so fantastic.

I use to have to turn the sound down in LOTRO because of the damn ghost bear. The ambient sounds are awesome in this game, but the sudden ghost bear would scare the crap out of me.
I agree though this game has very good ambient sound.

I use a Logitech surround sound 5.1 system and I am big fan of tweaking ambient to the max and the music down low. Fantastic

He hasn't. I was just saying I couldn't turn up the sound for the game because of the random ghost bear that would scare the crap out of me.
I haven't heard ghost bear since the game first came out.
