Europeans playing in the US servers. Is this Legal? Will I break any laws? (Mythic Support is taking s

Hello. I sent this question to Mythic support.(Mythic Support is taking some time to answer this/maybe avoiding the answer)

You help me out.

I'm from Europe and I just started a US trial account for warhammer online.

Am I breaking any game law being from Europe playing in the US servers and paying the US subscription fees instead of the European ones?

I want to play in the US servers only.

Please Reply.

I really don't think so. I wouldn't worry about it. I know I've played many MMOs with gamers from around the world. I've played MMOs on foreign servers. I'm pretty sure you're fine.

It's legal if you ask around in-game there are tons of european playing on the US servers, but you might get disconnected/lag more than the average player.

This question is pretty special.. is it legal? Of course its legal! It may break the EULA but your not going to be hunted down and shot for it.. You just may get banned. Even still, that is not likely as your still paying for the game, you should be totally fine.

    Well that's it.

I don't want to get banned or break any EULA.

I done a quick search of  the EULA and found nothing regarding this.

I'm sure it's fine to play on any server you want.  The only reason they list them by region is to save people the hassle of finding lagless servers.

If it was not legal then they would have put up and IP block like some games do so you will be fine.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to play with us on the US servers, even during beta Mythic said several times that if an EU player wanted to play with us all you have to do is purchase the US version instead.  The only thing is instead of connecting to a local server hub in EU, you'll be connecting the server hub in the US so you may experience a bit of lag or slower response.  However, I've played many of MMOs that were hosted in all parts of the world and never had much of a connection issue so u may be just fine.

Think of it this way also, the gold farmers play with no problem on our servers and the only reason they get banned is cause they're doing RMT which is against the EULA and a ban-able offense.

I'm guessing the OP is a new player.

A Euro playing on a US server is legal. The way mythic works is, if they accept your payment details you are good to go.

Also just to put your mind at further ease I'm from the UK and I played on the US servers for a year before quitting. There isn't any un-official Euro servers anymore, like Red Eye Mountain or un-official International servers like Skull Throne as these servers are no more. Best way to find a good server for your timezone is to log on and pick the most active server.

    Good Luck.

There are a lot of 'F2P' games that restrict users from outside their service zone by IP-restrictions and the like so i can see why the OP asks, just to be sure.

For Mythic though, it's not a problem. Heck for Daoc when the EU servers started dieing out they even recommended people to just get a US account instead.

Shoudn't matter at least in WoW I knew people that were from europe and played on my east coast server. Only issues that would happen would be possibly more lag, and most of the other players would be on at different times. The time issue might then cause some trouble for doing things with guild mates since say 8pm for them would be 2am for Europe.

If you play on a US server you risk becoming to cool for your "old" country. Just FYI.
