Problem is. We all know that these farm bots are mostly Asians. These guys have had a year already in Korean and Chinese Aion.

So they know all the best grindspots in the game already.

Just give it one or two more weeks and all the good grind spots in the game are permanently camped by bots 24/7.

It's already pretty much the case with zones up to level20 atm. And it's slowly building up already in the higher level zones.

Just go to Cantas Coast for example. There are a dozen bots running around on that single spot in each channel! 24/7! It's pathetic.

The fact is. From now on, no new player with some form of sanity is ever going to sub for this game. Ever.
Right now, the moment a new player logs into the game for the first time....
....it will not only be overwelmed with a raging chat window moving faster then the average Formule 1 car. Because of all the spam.
But he/she will have to put up with farming bots all over the starter areas. They are everywhere and in very large numbers.
It's a joke!  NCSoft has lost complete control over their game. The spam and botting is so excessive. It's really disgusting.
I have never seen this amount of spam and botting before. Even Lineage 2 wasn't that bad at launch as is now the case with AION.

I guess. This is what you get when you don't bother writing any security nor any checks in your game client and make the bussiness choice to rely 100% on a crap program called Game Guard.... and then at launch make the decision to remove this crap program from the game client as well. Leaving it completely open and defenseless.
I guess NCSoft has just set a brandnew record in how fast you can run a game totally into the ground after launch. (just talking about NA/EU launch here).
    Cheers
theres others ways to block them as well go to chat pref and tab op's then un check channel then hit change and do emote /anon so you would not get all of the spam then yall are free of spam and yall have an nice day playing aion^_^

Maybe you should actually read my post and what we are actually discussing in this topic.

Are people honestly able to get themselves worked up into this kind of frenzy over a video game?  Seriously?

The OP probably got a point in that NC soft must be better to stop spam. But to say that the game is done for seems a bit too much for me.

The fact is still that Aion is the best polished game to be released since Guildwars but it do still have things that needs fixing. Spam, bots and gold sellers seems to be taken lightly in asia but it do matters a lot in the west and NC soft needs to realise that and fix it. Most games have mechanics for this and Aion just needs to make tools for that like the rest.

It is as simple as that.

That is exactly my whole point. But we all know the sad history with NCSoft and their total lack of action when it comes to dealing with botters, spam and cheaters.

For most people the first 30 days is already starting to run out by next weekend. And the spam and botting problem has gotten only worse, not less.

I had this feeling also with Aion,I even said to a guild mate "maybe I am just burned out with the whole mmo market"..now this is not a plug just my honest opinion...I decided to give Fallen Earth a go as I was really bored and the rest of my gaming mate's were still plugging away at Aion...was I burned out with mmo's?..the hell I was,Fallen earth brought me back big time,I am maybe burned out with the whole magic fantasy, spellcasting theme but not mmo's.

I honestly think for people like myself that have played mmo's for many years that it could just be that Aion was 1 fantasy spellcasting mmo to far.

I think you might be right daylight01, I think it might just be all the Fantasy based mmos are the problem for me. I have been considering FE and might just have to give it a try.

I guess - watching the graph - there are no longer queus to log in ...
I could have just cut and pasted the graph of War and AoC in their first 6 weeks.

why do you trolls always assume everyone uses xfire and use those stats to try to back up all of your troll claims?

i for one am glad that people such as yourself are leaving, make room for better people then yourselves to group with.

Do you even know what your talking about? I've read most of your posts - so allow me to answer it for you... "No"... you don't.

Spam is gone... botters is the ONLY thing left that people are crying about. Believe me - the haters are getting nervous because soon they won't have anything to bitch about. First it was lag, then it was failguard, then it was server queues, then it was spam/gold selling... and lastly... bots...

The first 4 have been fixed... there's ONE left.... all within the first MONTH of release.

God I can't WAIT till the free month is up.... it'll be way less QQ

Sorry to say it but the spam is still there I have been playing and for the last couple of days it has gotten worst, the gold sellers, don't just spam the chat but also whisper and mail. This game still needs a lot of work but NCsoft is known for not fixing issues like this or others related to classes like spiritmaster: Dots not stacking and pets not flying, which makes people quit the class.

Nope, spam on general channels is gone for now at least. You need to restart your launcher for it to take effect though.

First off I like the look of Aion and will try it someday soon but as a long time L2 player I know what to expect from NCSOFT.

L2 players have been waiting several years for NCSOFT to rid the game of bots.

If you have the time do some searches on L2 fansites and read some old threads on farmers and botters. You will then have some idea of what NCSOFT will actually do about bots. You would find stories from 2004 - to present day.

L2 launch had similar problems to Aion, I remember trying to log in it was just a constant type username and password over and over and hope you got in. There was lag. There were times when mobs didnt fight back! Anyone on Bartz from the start must remember the CCTV bots. Same things different game it could be said of most game launches.

My point is they never did anything about botting and now 5 years down the line it's no different. I think L2 players are very skeptical when the words NCSOFT and botts are seen in a sentence.

Agreed the thing is that NCsoft has nothing right now to detect bots since the removal of Gameguard.

Gameguard is useless and is easily bypassed. Don't believe me? Create an account on Chinese Aion server and count the bots. They are probably more numerous that in the US version and the Chinese version uses Gameguard.

Wrong, spam isn't gone. It's already peaking it's head out once again. Give the spammers1-2 days to inform the rest of their crew and it will be just as it was.

So <1 day of no spam does not a victory make or a problem solve. NCSoft needs to be banning the bots that are farming the gold that the spammer spam as well as banning the spammers.

Good point... because after today there was no issue with "gold spam sell" anymore.

NCSoft lowered the boom on those guys all of a sudden and it was a different chat. (not game.. the game was the same) I think I saw three all day. Farmers are still in game, but they are in every game until the players actually report them.

So as of now, you can edit your post and take this part out. :)

So once you take this part out, not much left to complain about here.
