Rogue Builds

Hi

I'm planning to get wow soon I am thinking about playing a rogue.

I've been looking around the net and have seen all the different build types and I've just got really confused with all the different types. I was looking for a good damage dealing build but I'm not really sure which  build to go with. I've seen people talking about assains and abusher but don't really know what they are talking about. If anyone could help me by giving  me any tips with that build I should use then I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

( I'm sorry if this is a repost )

try and find a calculator on a fan site. i've seen 1 before. can't remember where. but you where able 2 calculate your skills and things like that. you can see all that you can choose of and what skills or effects it has. kinde is a shame you can't fully control your build by making the stats your self. that would have made the game even more interesting

Dude for rogues their is no other choice then night elf.

Night elf have a racial passive ability that helps them hide they get like a plus 15 to stealthor something. besides are their critical stats are what a rogue needs.

nigh elves are not realy that great rouge's. atleast acording the website the stealth is for all units that are not moving. not to inprove the stealth. but they do inprove speed wich is quite nice for a rouge. for the horde side i suggest taking trolls for there inprove knife skill and better healing.

but i agree that crit is inportant to a rouge. also dodge change is very handy. some time doge change is better then having big defends.

I was thinking about making a Night Elf char as none of my friends are playing as horde.

Should I stick with duel daggers or should I mix them with swords ? If I make mistakes with the skills that I get is there anyway to unlearn them ( I played for a while in the North America but have forgotten lot a lot about the game )

Also is it easy to get into groups.

Basicaly there are two types of rogues: combat rogues and assassins
Assassins: this is what I currently play (check my profile, link is in my sig). Basicaly the strategy is to deal out MASSIVE amount of damage when I strike from stealth: ambush or cheapshot are my main skills. Assassins use ALL rogue abilities to enhance their dmg: backstab, sinister strike, reviviscence (sp?) etc. This type of rogue is a caster-killer but has more trouble killing melee.

Combat rogue: dunno much about tips and strategies about this type but basicaly these rogues use swords/maces as their main and offhand weapons and thus cannot use most of rogues skills. Some people say that they deal out more dmg becuase of higher dmg on swords and maces, plus, you get some nice effects when u specialize in combat talent tree (chnce to stun with maces etc). It looks like this rogue is more rounded up to fight both melee and caster while assassin is geared towards fast killing of casters.
Combat rogue is more like a striped down to leather fast warrior.
In my opinion, assassin is the true meaning of a rogue - stealth, ambushes backstabs. But htats my opinion, you got to choose your style.

    Peace

1: Yes you can unlearn skills and respec them if you want, Go to a trainer and for 1 gold you can unlearn the first time  then i think it goes up each time you unlearn.

2: Heres a talent calculator for you so you can play around with diffrent builds you can even have other people rate it that play to get a good idea of how it will work ingame http://wowvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Talents.View&category_select_id=7

Good luck And hope to see you soon, Im horde so I'll only see you in PvP image

Thanks you all your help image

I think I will go with the assassin sounds pretty good. The other sounds too much like a warrior and I've gotten pretty bored with playing them now.

Now I just have to wait to be able to get the game on the February 25. I thought I'd start deciding on what class to be now because god knows it takes me long enough to make a final decision I normally end up restarting 3/4 times so this time it should be different or at least I hope so.

Check out this page.  This dude apparently has a very good build that everyone seems to be impressed by.  I haven't tried it, but he's got 18 pages of responses so its probably pretty good.  I dont know if everyone and their mother is walking around with this build, so you might face some tough compition using it.  But he even gives a guide on how to use it. Anyway check it out. Good luck.
