I will start with my history!
Before starting MMORPGs this is what I played... www.youtube.com/watch
This game I still play today as my original clan(House Kurita) has stuck together for these many years.
In the late 90ies my very first game(1998-) My very first MMORPG was the very best to this date IMO game ever created!!
EQ..EQ..EVERQUEST!!!In everquest I had two mains.. My social group centric dr00d(druid)"Luvintime" and my all time favorite soloist class my necro "Diabolique". I miss the original EQ dearly.. Our guild quit after the 8th expansion.
In the flurry of activity in 2001 our guild moved to a new but very exciting game. That game was Star Wars Galaxies(SWG).
In those days the game was awesome. I played mainly one character Ede Ebu" Ede was a TK,Fence,Pistoleer. In pvp Ede was all GOODNESS! Then came CU which ruined SWG at the time. So once again our guild moved on.
By 2002 our new game was DARK AGE OF CAMELOT(DAOC). This is the first game where our guild was in complete dominance. We had the best guilds on prospective servers if not the game(I want to believe the Game) Although our old website for this game no longer exists we still have one half of it kicking. www.crucibleguild.org/ While many of us split in half! we formed another guild as well for this next game. My characters were Stangkilla, Melf, and Uberdot, Lumina..
2005- WORLD of Warcraft(WOW) While half our guild stayed in Crucible our other half formed a sister guild which came to dominate its server! www.lobsterbrood.com/
Lobsterbrood still plays a dominant role on Thunderhorn! My characters as mains were Onyx, Maidden, Snatas, Jemba.
WOW has been the game I have been with the longest. Although I do play Warhammer, it is not the same as the glory days of DAOC.
Now i am older. I am not as active as I once was. Real Life takes away alot of my hanging out with friends. But I still play! Once a gamer always a gamer.
Things I notice..I notice a trend in MMORPGs that dsisturbs me. The Free to play with item shop MMORPGs are showing up all over the net. All for that piece of Pie. Because I like quality, there has not been a MMORPG thats FTP that even comes close to any of the above mentioned! I am not saying some of you may enjoy those types of game. But for me, there is nothing better than the named above POWERHOUSES..
Please feel free to share your comments and your history of the MMORPGs that you play!

wow, no replies..
My history of MMORPG is in my sig, with bunch of F2P games that I didn't even bother to list them since they have not release in US and I'm lazy.
I started with SWG, stayed for 3+ years until the damn NGE came out, I stayed for 2 month then I gave up and left, gave my account to my neighbor who played SWG with me, and went on to FFXI and CoX. Then later I got into WoW, played on and off and was bored with it. And I do on and off with FFXI and CoX as well. During these times I played many F2P games.
Now the latest 2 games I'm into are Champions Online and Aion Online. Right now I'm subbing to Aion online.
Current MMO: FFXIV:ARR
Past MMO: Way too many (P2P and F2P)
Everquest: 2-3 years i think
Shadowbane: 1 month
EQ2: bought the same time as WoW and played for a month.
WoW: Started almost a month after launch and have played off and on since. Longest I've gone without a sub is 8 months i think.
Pirates of the Burning Sea: "beta tested"
Fury: "beta tested"
Guild Wars: 1 month
Auto Assault: "beta tested"
Age of Conan: 2 months
Warhammer Online: 2 months
Dungeons and Dragons Online: 1 month
Worst letdown would have to be Horizons. I was so hyped by the simple idea of the game. When they cut most of the races right before launch, I was really bummed. Would love to see a multi-factioned PvP game like DAoC again, since I missed it the first time. More factions would be cool too
Vault-Tec analysts have concluded that the odds of worldwide nuclear armaggeddon this decade are 17,143,762... to 1.
Something I have noticed in the past couple of years or so. I notice that those who were around for EQ(old school) played for a significant amount f time. Also, for me.. To this day I still have a hard time finding that special feeling that one had with EQ.
Finding a mmorpg that is as fulfilling is hard to come by.I guess it is a achievement / Risk thing. Thr rewards in EQ wer great, as is the risk. So I actually felt like I accomplished something in EQ back in the day. Have not felt that since.
There are alot of things I miss about EQ, but overall I think I liked WoW better.

Aion =( WTF IS THIS CRAP
Ultima (Can't remember what versions) - A few months. Liked it.
Phantasy Star Online - A year. Loved it.
EQ1 - A few months. Liked it.
Warcraft and Starcraft - A few months. Liked it.
EQ2 - A few months. Liked it.
Phantasy Star Chapter I&II - A few months. Liked it.
Guild Wars - About 4-5 months. Loved it.
World of Warcraft - Still playing it. Love and hate it.
Lord of the Rings Online - 1 month. Wasn't for me. It did NOT capture the lore or feeling of the books and movies. It got very boring after level 14 for me. I have not returned.
Phantasy Star Universe - 2 months. Very disappointed.
Age of Conan - 2 months. Ok time. Like the story in the beginning then it just got odd for me. Had to play an a better rig and update the direct x to get even remotely decent graphics. I'm torn as I may return to this game in the future.
Warhammer - 2 months. I tried so hard to like this game but in some areas, the lag just makes the game unplayable and I had a 2.6 duo core 3 megs of ram at the time. The game was very fun at first but then people just dropped off and the items in the auction was very limited. The main reason I had any hope of continue playing was getting new gear and with the auction house being a mess, I gave up.
Eve - I only played the trial so I can not say for sure but it was a little too much for me at the time. Learning curve was a little high and I got bored with it. I may buy access to play it again as it has so much that I like in a game. I'll dedicate some time in the future to get to know this game better. You can't really know how good a game is in a trial.
Knights of Dream City - 2 months. Love this game so much but there are a few issues I have with the game and community. This is one of the most addicting games I played but it's a small company so not a lot of players yet and a few technical issues with the game (not a lot). I hope they grow but I'll write a review after another month or so of playing.
Cities XL - Just started but so far it's ok. I don't consider this much of an mmo and I like Sim City 4 a lot better.
Aion - I'm currently playing it and I like it a lot but I can't say yet as I haven't played long enough. After this month if I re-sub, I'll write a review. Aion isn't innovative but very polished in many respects. Having a great time for now.
Edit: Forgot to add SWG. Liked it a lot at the time and was one of my favorite mmos. I would return to it today if the graphics was just a little bit more up to date. (I'm not all on looks)
I have the right to like what I want!
EQ - 4 years
