Ok i have been playing a lots o mmo's but i cant say that i have ever found anything like aoc...
That game will rock your soax... I just leveled a char to level 80 and i want to make another one but cant decide since they are all so damn fun to play in different styles...
Stunning graphics. Never thought it was possible in a mmo.
Overall mature population, there are of course few kidoz but they are everywhere... so....
Great lore, great mature level of gaming, if you want realism then this is a game for you... I'm not talking simulators here, but entier game is so well designed that even if you encounter some oddly looking beast it would be fine...
MORE??
Ok I will give you more... NO ELFS, NO DWARG :P

OK, now I KNOW you're on a PvE server!
Great game. Plays really well. Looks marvellous. It's good.
Two problems:
#1 The starting area requires you to go through the exact same quests. It's brilliant the first time. Still good the second time. OK the third time. Getting tiresome by the fourth time. I just don't know if I could stomach making a fifth character. Which is all fine, as long as you create the right character for you the first time ... oh, and don't mind not having replayability.
#2 The fact that the PvP servers are ganking hell. I've yet to witness worse PvP ganking than I've seen on AoC. Maybe the obnoxious PvP gankers will migrate to Aion, Darkfall or Mortal Online.... *hmmmm*
It does look glorious though.
Currently playing: Vanguard: SOH
The OP sounds like like he works for Funcom.
I bought AoC at the D2D $5 sale but haven't activated my account yet, but I have been meaning to.
Nope i'm not working for funcom.
And for you my friend... I would suggest to you to fire up that account now and get leveling up to 80... There is a lots of new replayable content comming now, patch 1.6
I currently play at PVE server, thats true... i have a low level charachter on a pvp server too but as much as it can be anoying it is fun on pvp server too... It's only that everything takes much longer time, you need to avoid other players, there are gank squads and so on... but if you are that kind of player i bet you are gonna enjoy everything aoc have to offer on both pvp and pve server.
Glad to hear you are enjoying the game as is. You are paying a lot less for a much more finished game, I'm also thinking since you waited until now to pick it up there aren't months of broken promises and suggestions about things to come that you can recall. I'm interested to hear how you define overall a mature population when you have less than a months time in the game and pretty much confine your play to PVE? Also you never thought stunning graphics were possible in an MMO. hmmmm. Well you are in luck because AOC does offer that however not much else.
Actually I recently went back to AoC and I am on the PvP server Cimmeria and I have to say it is awesome! Their is a lot to do and people are actually really cool and helpful.
The only down side is that the soldier classes really suck... Like guards are horrible at pvp and stand no chance against any of the other classes.
I remember when everybody told me to quit the DT. They told me to roll a Guard. Balance changes over time. As long as you have fun when playing is what matters.
Good to hear others who enjoy the game as much as I do.

Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.
It got a rough ride but even though I don't subscribe anymore I still think of the game fondly. I have had some great moments in AoC and some really immersive missions that had a lot of thought put into them. And yes the graphics are just stunning and with a decent rig you can really have some special graphics. Personally I loved the adult themes and the fatalities because it made it so much more realistic compared to other MMO's. Especially with hide mode on and hitting from behind etc. I stopped playing because I had a bit of game fatigue but I am most likely going to sub again one day and just level up to 80.
What really let the game down for me was the instances and the zones. It kinda took away the immersion factor and it just needed more of a sandbox feel. The game would be epic if players could venture out east and set up villages and fight over them.
Housing is essential in fantasy mmo's IMO. Even if its not having a house in the open, they should allow players to purchase apartments in the cities which could easily be an instanced door.
But personally I agree with you and I thought the game got a rough ride.
Good to hear you guys are enjoying the game.
Age of Conan is, in my opinion at least, the best MMORPG out at the mo'
"nerf rock, paper is working as intended."
- Scissors.
Head Chop
More open areas would be nice. I believe that AoC is suppose to be getting those with Rise of the Godslayer.
Housing when well done is nice (aka EQ2), but most of the time housing just does not work. I have enjoyed seeing our Guild City hit T3.
Age of Conan is one of the best mmos on the market that's for sure!
Nice reading some serious posts on this game after all the trolling lately.
