Does anyone else out there think that the Battletech/Mechwarrior universe would be a great setting for an mmo? I'm a feverish fan of the Mechwarrior games on the PC (and was thrilled by the way to hear that another one is forthcoming) and played the pen and paper version for years but cannot for the life of me figure out why nobody has capitalised on this great IP. The major pieces are there; large universe with innumerable planets; many major factions for players to choose from and untold minor factions (starting a mercenary command for example); a history so filled with wars that one could pick just about anyplace in the timeline to set the game and have an immensely high cieling for storytelling; a non-fantasy setting... I could go on but I'd like to hear (read: see) what other people think about this and who knows? Maybe some high muckity muck looking for the next great mmo project will notice and get a fire lit under his arse!!

I would love to see a Mech/Battletech MMO, i grew up with old school rpg table tops! I also think the core system for Eve-Online developed by CCP would be a great engine for such an MMO.
It would be really cool, but they'd have to do an amazing job with the controls/gameplay and pvp experience.
Heck id kill for a decent sci-fi mmo thats not EvE in general.
Agreed. take the mechwarrior game and add a huge mmorpg non-mech environment to surround it all and it would be spectacular.
I would seriously jizz all over my keyboard if this was released
Ugh...
I will definitely try it.
Well I guess there's not as much of a calling for a Battletech/Mechwarrior mmo... maybe after the new Mecharrior comes out...
