Which Genre would you like to play in?

Assume that a game was going to come out that met all your personal characteristics for an awsome MMO.  The only choice you had to make was Genre.  Being limited to 10 choices on the poll, some of the categories are not as specific as I would like.  So if you choose, for example, Fantasy, but would rather have something other than classic "DnD" style fantasy, please say so.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

Basically anything is fine as long there's some refreshment over time; fantasy ( Wich for MMO's is the most suitable genre for game mecanics ) starts feeling a bit over played. I lightly prefer modern weapons in MMO's so for the change i voted for  fallen earth's Post apocalyptic world. A western MMO would be a great idea tough.

I picked Fantasy. But I deffinlty could get into a space game IF there was enough to do/see. My problem with EVE is that its just empty, and at least for the week that I play'd it there was little to do but mining.

Anyways... But if a graphicly good space game came along with avatars and worlds to walk on. shoot i'd be down for that.

Please check out my channel. I do gaming reviews, gaming related reviews & lets plays. Thanks!

To me, a Space Opera Game includes both Land-based gaming, and space based gaming.  But a bit more intertwined than what we had with SWG.  That was almost like two seperate games.

I would prefer Fantasy but would consider cyber-punk if done well.

    NOT how DDO did it.

I'm honestly not that bothered about genre.

The variety of the gameplay and the quality of the end product are the thing.

I want varied races (humans are dull), interesting classes (if the game has them at all) and perhaps most importantly a good, believable lore behind it that doesn't require excessive exposition. It can be set in space, on a magical continent with dragons and elves, in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

As long as it's well-made, I'll give it a go.

I can't truly agree here.  Genre does appeal to me.  There are some games out there that the genre does not interest me in playing.  Post-apocolyptic is one of them.   It doesn't matter how good the MMO may be, post apocalyptic just doesn't really appeal to me in the terms of playing an MMO there.

(Now fallout I happen to like, but its not MMO)

Since you didn't list Science Fiction, I couldn't vote.  Space Opera isn't the same thing, space opera is fantasy in space.  I want ZERO magic, ZERO supernatural, all science fiction.
