The English localization of Soul of the Ultimate Nation, or S.U.N, Webzen's fantasy MMORPG has begun live service today. S.U.N has been operating in Korea since 2006, and has been localized for Chinese, Japanese, and Taiwanese territories since then.
To celebrate the launch Webzen is giving out cash items to all new characters as well as in-game money to guild masters so they can support their guilds.
For more information on S.U.N, visit the game's official website here.

what the hell, they finally release to us.
why should we care about this game? what's so good about it
Apparantly they have "AMAZING GRAPHIC!" and "STORY TELLING QUEST!".
I'm really disappointed. Back when this was announced 3-4 years ago it looked like something really special. and I was really excited. Now I'm all depressed...
Thanks a lot, SUN. ):
And it only took them 3 years to do it.
Well I am DL now to check it out. I have nothing else to play. Guess they figured that they need more money and came to us, it kinda angers me.
make sure you post a review once you've taken the time to download, install, setup an account etc.. it's probably just a grinder right?
so...
I actually tried this out a few days ago. Its actually pretty good if not for the fact that the 4 classes are gender locked with little to no customization I'd probably play it.
Grrr Went to the site given here, DL the client, install but the client tells me I need to DL the USA from ijji client instead of the global one. I downloaded the first client from Fileplanet, its the wrong one I think...
As for gender lock, I am sure that will change later if this SUN is in USA hands completely.
Ive been playing this off and on with my cousin for the past few weeks. It feels like a Dynasty Warriors type game, tons of hacking and slashing action. Its a quest grinder, but you level quite quick. Its a bit to linear for my tastes with lots of loading screens. Graphics are pretty good but when I forced AA it made the game look hella blurry or kinda like someone put a cross hashed effect all over the game.
If you like non stop fast paced hack and slash and bosses with a shit ton of HP then look no further.
Here is my "after 10 minutes" review:
* Couldn't set res higher then 1280x1024
* Silly webclientstarter
* 4 classes??? barely any customization
I logged in:
* BLOOM .... i mean ...BLLOOOOOOMMMMM .... i mean ..... BBBBBLLLLLLOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMM
* silly starters quests again ... boring
* Horrible GUI
* awfull character movement
* tried first combat quest .... 300 people waiting for the same mobs ... after 5 minutes, i still didn't even get close ebough to hit one.
My god .. and to think i was really frantic about this one a few years ago.
Log off ... uninstall.
Disclaimer: This is my opinion.
Quite bad timing with Aion released such a short time ago.
Will definitely give it a try since it seems to be free aside of cash shops and I was really looking forward to it a few years ago.
It'll probably not get too much play time though while my guild is playing Aion
Anyway, thanks for bringing SUN to the western world!
To change the resoultion either disable fullscreen mode and change it in the game, or force your preffered resolution in 3dsetup.ini
The game itself fells a little bit grindy but I didn't fell overwhelemed with it. Gonna have to wait a bit though as going through the newbie area now is hellish beyond comprehension with all those chars trying to kill 3 guards... ^^
"A Copy of an Review"
Pros: +Top notch music. +Good skill system. +Each class has its own story arc. +Large and beautifully designed game world. +Varied PvP options. +Good skill animations.
Cons: -Limited character customization. -Unpolished and often clumsy interface. -Tutorial could be better. -Classes are gender locked.
The combat and advancement system, combined with large, beautiful worlds, scripted instances and amazing visuals make SUN a game more than worthy of your time; however, it’s in the ability to create and customise your own questing and PvP instances that SUN truly shines ( Sounds Fun ). Battlezones, as they’re called, offer the ability to customise everything from the map selection to the types of enemies and their level, allowing you to take your tailored character into your tailored environment, and play the game entirely to your own personal tastes.

If games made by big names like warhammer, aoc etc etc suck balls why would sun be any good?? give me a break
Yes...that makes sense. If EA, Funcom and SOE fail at making MMO then clearly no-one can make proper MMO's!
So by your reasoning, EVE online is horrible and almost no one would play it, right?
I enjoy both the gameplay and graphics very much.
Think im going to play this game a lot.
I had also hoped it would have been released a lot sooner to the western world
I like it but i wont play it since it has few classes and my favourite one Shadow is not released.
Yeah I did the exact same thing. There is nothing that readily leads you to download the "correct" download for your area. After I had my issue I went searching and found the little drop down box that has no explanation (the only thing you see right off the box is "global") but that will lead you to the correct page.
I have to say that the game feels junky. This is the perfect example of what I am talking about when I say that a lot of these asian games, barring Lineage 2 and Aion, feel junky.
The WASD (luckily I"m used to point and click) is awkward, though not as awkward as Lineage 2's arrow movement, and the text is so large I can't read it. I have to find a way to change that (edit: was a bug, text is fine now).
I figured out why the wasd is awkward. You have to hold down the left mouse button while you move in order for the camera to follow behind you. If you hold down the right the camera moves but you keep going in the same direction. I've looked but I have yet to be able to find a way to change this.
Personally I find it interesting because they really hyped the game when they first announced it. Suddenly it's released with little fanfare and it feels junky. However, I will play it a small bit in order to get a better feeling. The art design isn't bad but it's got that feeling of "let's throw together a game so we can attach an item shop".
I just found the settings where you can set the resolution to 1920 by whatever it is. once I did this the game looked a lot better, though it does have quite a bit of bloom. My thought is that this is how the devs want it presented so I can live with it, no need for me to look for a way to turn it off.

No thanks, I will pass.
well, I did the same thing as a few of you mentioned, went to the link from this article, downloaded and installed. Come to find out it is not the right version. To play in the regions USA/CANADA/UK you need to go to http://sun.ijji.com/
I wish international games with multiple regions and partners would be more clear in their marketing. It really makes them look like a bunch of unprofessional idiots and is a big turn off to new potential players when they try to play thier games and can't figure out what to do and waste hours downloading and installing things they don't need to. Just give clear links to all your regional partners when marketing your games.
