I just got a new computer. I didn't get a sound card with it but my friend said I didn't need one. In WoW and some other games my sound would chop everyone once in a while. I think this is because I was using my motherboards sound.
In my old computer I had a sound blaster audigy 5.1 card, and I never use that comp so I put the card into my new one. I installed it with the installation cd and hooked up my speakers and then my sound when static. I remember that I didn't uninstall my my nvdia sound from my nforce 2 motherboard and this could be the cause of my problem. While installing it said two sound devices are operating at the same time and could cause a conflict. I went into device manager and sound and audio option, and went into properties and disabled all the nvidia sound I could find. It shows that SB Audigy Audio {C400} at the top of sound and audio devices.
I troubleshooted and it said to go into device manager to see if there are any ! marks next to any of the devices but there isn't any conflicts shown.
How and what do i need to uninstall. Or is there something else need to do? Should i just try and go back to my original setup? I have a A7N8X-X ASUS NFORCE2 mainboard. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

cool I got it work
I have another problem. I'm on dial up and I been getting lag spikes that are 30 secs long. I can go 10 min without any lag but when I do It lasts forever and usually I end up reconnecting once my ping starts climbing. I noticed that the connectivity showed no activity during each lag spike. At first I thought it was just something to do with the WoW servers because a lot of people have been complaining about lag since the last patch.
I started playing Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne and noticed I was getting the same lag spikes resulting in getting disconnected from the game but not battlenet. This happens nearly every game. On my other computer that I dont use anymore hardly every got disconnected from a Warcraft game, and if i did it was from the internet.
I thought it might be my modem so I tried to use the modem from the other computer, but I didn't have the installation cd so I went to the store and bought another one. I installed it and fired up another online warcraft game. I have the same problem.
The next thing I could think of is my Internet provider which is PeoplePC. My old computer had Internet service provider from my brother in law which no longer exists. Could switching to Netzero or some other provider fix the problem?
