I really hate that they took away the ability to view the WWIIOnline official forums if your not a subscriber. I did like to go there and see what people were saying about new patches and such. It could be that they thought all the complaining would turn off new players so maybe its justified, but none the less, I miss being able to browse them.

Heh, never noticed they closed barracks etc for viewing too.. Could understand Off Topic, as that place can get ugly, with politics and all. But barracks? neh. just the same whines as in other games just other flavours of "Devs! My leet mage didn't one-shot-kill a warrior only wearing 3 sets of armour over each other"  People tend to exaggerate and expect more than reality offers.

It's just that with 2 clearly separated factions (Axis and allies) that flames come easily and it goes downhill fast. No one wants the other side to get an egde, while they still want one themselves, very competitive environment.

Its not the first time they have restricted game forums to subscribers only, its been like that at least one time in the past before, and you can still post on the support forums for technical help / inquires.

They should allow to read the announcement and production notes forums so interested and pausing players can still know whats going on!

The closed forums will turn more people away from the game then anything.  I think theres only 1 game out there with closed forums, "JUMPGATE".  And that game is going downhill.

The only thing bad about WWIIONLINE forums is that it takes 45 seconds to refresh the page.

I think that there are probubly a ton of inactive WWIIOnline players that keep track of the game. Many may be waiting for a certain feature to be emplemented. I think overall they will lose more players than they add by closing the forums.

i even didnt know that non subscribed player could read forums cause always it was written to have subscription for it, furthermore i dont think that it doesnt matter if forum is open or closed cause this game is good with or without it. there is not difference in comparison to other games, critisism exist in every gamer forum but also positive conctructive threads.

You can still be signed up for the newsletter.

I'm sure they've taken advice from someone ready for the re-release of the game on the shelf. They'll have people reviewing it and they don't want them to be swayed by the gripes of the customers.

FiringSquad has done some good reviews, very fanboi style but they are still working on it. I reckon by May they'll be at the level they want it to be released and that'll be it ready for a June 6th release.
