Anyone here misses BC more than Vanilla?

ThenariusThenarius Member Posts: 1,106

Sure Vanilla had its fun times(Razorgorelol, Lava Hound packs, and then, AQ40) but I miss BC raiding because BT and Sunwell were so damn intense.

Remember bosses like Teron Gorefiend where one dude could actually screw up if he didn't know how to play the construct properly(requiring all 25 players to know what to do in that encounter).

And then, Kael'Thas with those advisor NPCs and phoenix phases, requiring so much coordonation to pull anything off. And who could forget the retardcheck that was Archimonde where someone dying could usually chain a nice soul charge wipe.

But now with WOTLK, even if hardmodes are actually hard, it just doesn't feel the same when you know that raiding has been reduced to a mundane thing cattered to every bloody casual, sometimes even retards. Worths a mention and RIP:

-Tanking nerfs(you could tell who's a good or bad tank in Vanilla and BC so easily).

-Threat having a point(who cares about TPS in WOTLK?)

-CC required in heroics

-Classes being actually unique. Almost every spec had its role, even if some specs were simply PvP specs and viceversa.

And most important, the "FUCK YEAH HE'S FINALLY DEAD" moment we used to get after wiping for some good days.

Oh, in before some random dude linking achivements of 2 encounters and calling WOTLK as hard as WoW used to be. Well guess what, dude, almost every boss was hard in BC.

I thought both Vanilla and BC were painfully boring.  WotLK is much more interesting, but is also much much easier.  I dont like my games that easy either.

I don't think any of the expansions have been able to combine "fun" and "difficulty".

If I had to play WoW again I would want it to be Pre-BC and the 40 mans. It was hard enough going from large scale raiding in EQ to 40 mans, but the 25s just took all my fun away.

Its weird for me. I miss pre BC wow for what it was. BC i miss too. WotLK i just feel is going in the wrong direction. Im still a daily player however.  Im only Hoping that CAT will bring back the Pre-BC feeling.

I would like a adjustment up in difficulty level. CC needs to be a part of the game. I have not gotten to use my poly turtle outside of pvp in a pve instance since WoTLK started.

It depends on what you mean by BC, really. Late BC was fun and T6 raids were epic (even pre-SWP). Early BC was a mess, though. Everyone was just doing Arena for free rewards (except me because I never liked Arena).

MMORPG genre is dead. Long live MMOCS (Massively Multiplayer Online Cash Shop).

Glad to see im not alone. I parked my mage a few months back and rolled a warrior just so I would have something to do in PvE. I loved playing my mage in wintergrasp, but the rest of the time it was just a complete snorefest.

Gah, for the sake of any hardcore player or anyone who's been with Blizz since the 90's, I hope so too. I loved WoW pre-BC. There wasn't too much handholding and starting out actually posed a challenge, rather than now where you can kill an enemy and gain all health lost on the walk over to the next one in starter areas.

Looking at the world, i definately prefer the old Azeroth. There's area where the high level area is just right next door to a low level.

Example, when i first play and was very low level, i dont know whats on the right of UC. So i turn right, just to explore a bit, found the Bulwark, hmmm a outpost, wonder what it do, and going further, wham! kill by a bear. I was like, what?! Such a high level area just outside!

Another area is at Hillsbrad Foothills, a level 20+ area. But just behind Durnholde Keep, it leads you to a late 40s area. And couple with so many unaccess areas in the old world, it really makes Azeroth a very secretive and fantasy place.

But looking at Outland and Northend, its so linear. They dont create the world like it use to be, and when i saw the video of how they're gona change the old Azeroth, the way the leveling will take us, it looks exactly like BC and LK.

Though i like it in MMO where they change the old world, but personally i dont like the directions they are taking...

I didn't like BC, it ruined WoW for me.  Only two things i liked about it though, and that is Nagrand, and the importance of CC.  WotLK isn't so bad, but still not as great.
