Mythic appreciates the continued support of DAOC players and with that in mind Mythic is committed to continuing to expand and improve Dark Age of Camelot far into the future. However, in the three years since DAoC first launched, Mythics costs to operate DAoC have more than doubled as we have expanded the size of the development team in order to add new technologies and grow the world of Camelot. In order for Mythic to continue to make this significant investment after three years of not changing our subscription fees, we must raise the price of our fees in line with those increased costs. Thus, we are announcing a price increase starting on February 3rd to the prices listed below.
$14.95 per month
$40.35 for 3 months
$71.70 for 6 months
$137.40 for 1 year

ToA, Cats, SI, NF...These are worth an extra $2 a month.
Wow when I saw this post I was thinking ok another complaint, but it isn't. I am so sick of hearing people get so upset over $2 not to mention you can still lock in the lower rate and with the 1 yr subscription that will be offered you can still get the current lowest cost.
I am not saying Mythic is perfect, but I am really sick of constant Mythic bashing over minor issues. At least it hasn't started here. But then again not too many people come here.

Wow, I wonder if people will have to cancel some of their bots because of the price increase, lol.
Mythic sure knows how to make money though. I doubt the price increase will effect anyone from playing. All of those bots out there...man that's a lot more income for Mythic.

so first u have to go buy the expansion then pay a higher price? my question is for what? the dont do any events in this game.. do they even have ingame-GMs?
played for about 1year and have seen about 2 GM-events take place.
sure 2$ is not mutch for one person... my question is just... for what !? not like they need that mutch more income just becouse they added 2 ppl to there staff? :P

they have events and ingame-GMs. And trust me it dose worth those 2$ . and that players will cancle bot acc only for those 2$

and for past 2 years DAoC devolupment team was incriced 2 times and its 4 times larger when that game was released.
There staff has more than doubled so it is way more than 2 people. There are 150 people that just work on DAOC now. Electricity prices have gone up because of the cost of oil. They pay for healthcare and those costs skyrocket each year. Not to mention inflation. Adjusting for inflation $12.95 when the game started is equivelant to $14.33. So they are adjusting for all of this not to mention it has been shown that people will pay $15+ a month for an mmorpg so those are market prices.
Enough with explaing the cost increase. There are GM events. They are rare. Most often they take place on the rpg servers and pendragon. The reason they do them here is because they are the places where they are most wanted/needed. In game community events are also put together and they get the help of Mythic in many cases. DAOC- Europe has a lot more events that in the US.
But I will put it this way, DAOC is not about GM events. GM events are extra little things they do sometimes to add a little to the game. For those that want GM events your best bet is to play Ragnarok Online. It's graphics are so eay to program and they have put the focus on GM events so that is what they are all about. The more graphic intensive the game is, the more people that play it, the less likely you are to have GM events. It is just the way it works.
OMFG, who complains for 2 dollars!?!?!?!?!?!?! this is stupid, unless you are really poor (and i mean REALLY poor)
Please allow me to remind everyone, that although you are all entitled to your own opinion, I just thought it might be significant news because there are many players who are on the edge, not of poverty, but of quiting the game, and perhaps the two dollars was the last straw for them. I personally played the game hours a day for 3 years, so I would pay the two dollars, but I don't play any more.

u know this for a fact? becouse i do play on the EU-servers.. and about the events.. havent been that mutch, but the way the game is today its boring as it is
i didnt say that the 2$ is mutch.. but thats a 2$ and i just wonder what for.. our (EU) 1.70 patch was horrible.. and they completly F*** up the melee for warriors in NF, so u cant say its well balanced.. so if ur not alb (or maybe hib) u dont stand mutch chance in NF either.. so there goes the highlvls.. and there have been a lot of losses in number of daoc players.. so i think maybe its the wrong time to increase the fee.. but if its just in US (where u have the new exp) maybe its no problem.
either way... im done with daoc atm... next up.. WoW

I like NF, but I do not play tanks so maybe that is why. All I know is this. In the original Front here is how things went with my Eld: I could cast a bolt that would never hit because the target was in melee. My bolt would be deflected by a sheild. So I would have to use AoE or GTAoE. But I would be lucky to get 1-2 of them off. An inf would come up and PA me. An archer would kill me in one shot as well. A tank might break loose and hit me. I would try to quick cast stun but unless the tank completly sucked I would still be dead.
So as a caster I like NF. And I have to agree it didn't kill tanks it simply makes them have to use their brains for once instead of just charging into a target and slahing them.
