Rant about my life.

I was in the midst of typing my English essay when I veered off tract and ended up making my first blog and posting a 9 paragraph rant.

Only read it if you have a lot of free time and don't mind reading someone crying over life.

Leave comments. Any comments. Let me know what you think about my life.

    People come and people go.  It's great to have some close friends and I've managed to keep a few.  I dont even talk to or see anyone I went to highschool with anymore and haven't for some time.

    My best friend I met at a diner 8 years ago.  I sat next to him at the counter and since we both had our heads buzzed down to stubble, I jokingly asked him who did his hair and trying my best to look impressed/jealous.

    Maybe you could just walk somewhere and meet people where you go.  *shrugs*  I mean yeah it sucks that how your social life has been up to this point but it's not all it's cracked up to be.

    I'd gladly trade back a lot of the pointless time I wasted up until I was about 23.  Now I'm 27.  All but a handful of the folks I've known are gone.  I never went to college so I got my job yanked out from under me.  I took a part time job so I can go to college.  Im going to make less than 20,000 bucks this year the way things are looking.  I live with my parents again because I can't afford my own apartment and there are no room mates.  Most of the friends I have left are getting married and/or having children so they are mostly to busy to spend time with me anyway.  I hate my life.

    You don't have to be the best- but you've only got a year or so to go and things relax when you get some independence and go to college.  So don't piss it away.  I'd kill a man if I could get a decent job again with no college education.  Hell, I'd kill several- in a cage match where our only weapons are dull sticks- winner gets the job.  I guess I could always take the cash i've stashed and leave detroit... but then i'd be broke AND alone.  lol.

    Hope you got your things together. Hope you are quite prepared to die. Looks like we're in for nasty weather. ... There's a bad moon on the rise.

    At absolutely anytime we could be visited by friendly aliens who share their technology openly with us. In less than a decade we could be enjoying affordable vacations to the Moon or Mars and even the opportunity to join space exploration missions.

    Always something to look forward to.

    So your parents must think going to school is a waste of time since they think a teaching career is beneath you, I mean only a stupid person must be a teacher and not worth much.   So this also tells me that your parents merely see shool as a necessary evil to obtain a piece of paper that is really not worth all that much except for what you can garner from it by showing it off to some company telling them....look I went to school and did good - give me 60k+ a year job and lots of perks.

    ::sigh::

    Mate, my life was almost like that when I was 16 and I'm not a straight A student. Suddenly everything looks much better by comparison now doesn't it?

    Interesting read.  Though I can not relate with the strict parents thing I would like to encourage you to just keep plugging away.  Once high school is over life usually changes for the better... at least for most people.  With your education you'll be able to pick and choose the school you want to.  I figure that if your parents are willing to pay for Ivy League then they won't care where it's located.  You can always at that point pick a school that's not in the immediate area where you're at now and live on campus where you can continue to pursue your education away from your parents at your own pace.

    I can tell you one thing... at 17 you seem to have quite a bit more insight then I did at that age.  I think you'll go far in life, all you need is a chance to pick your own way rather then being forced down a path.

    No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-
